Lesson 1Ridin’ ReadyGideon Is Ready To ServeJudges 6:1-16, 36-40

Teaching Pictures The pictures illustrating the Bible Account show details to help buckaroos grasp them easier. Picture 1-1 gives an idea of how the enemy suppressed God’s people. Hiding in caves to avoid detection was common. The tents of the enemy covered the valley and created fear among the people of Israel. Harvesting crops was not always successful as the enemy stole from Israel. Picture 1-2 shows Gideon threshing grain in a winepress so that he was at least partially concealed from enemy view. The angel of the Lord came to issue God’s call to Gideon to be Israel’s leader in conquering the Midianites. A tabletop easel made from the corner of a corrugated cardboard box serves well for displaying teaching pictures.

Memory Verse Poster The verse for memorization is printed on an attractive poster to display on the wall. Put it in a place where all the buckaroos can easily see it. Beginner Teacher has an activity to help learn the words. Make an add-on display of Memory Verse posters for the week. Review previous verses as you complete each day’s verse.

Lesson 2Ridin’ ObedientRuth Follows GodRuth 1:14-17; 2:5-16; 3:10, 11; 4:13-17

Teaching Pictures Trim pictures 2-1 through 2-4 to make four cards. Mount each on a colored background that is larger to enhance its impact. Stack the pictures in numerical order with 2-1 in front. Hold it before buckaroos as you share Ruth’s loyalty to Naomi. Move 2-1 behind the others to reveal 2-2 to show the gleaning process of picking up grain after the reapers. Move it to the back so 2-3 is showing. Then change it to the back of the pictures to conclude the account of Boaz and Ruth with 2-4 in front.

Memory Verse Poster The verse to learn in this lesson was chosen to challenge buckaroos to follow Christ who dwells in them after salvation. Display the poster throughout the lesson and call attention to it to emphasize devotion to Christ.

Lesson 3Ridin’ FaithfulNehemiah Builds the WallNehemiah 4:1-23; 6:1-9

Teaching Pictures Visuals 3-1, 3-2 and 3-3 illustrate the Bible Account of Nehemiah’s experience in directing the rebuilding of the fortress wall around Jerusalem. Show them as directed in Lesson 3 of Beginner Teacher.

Cactus Poster The cactus poster is for life application in the Lesson Purpose section of Beginner Teacher for Lesson 3. Utilize it as decor for the Cross Canyon Trail theme.

Memory Verse Stones Cut apart the words in the Memory Verse to use individually as you guide buckaroos in learning the verse by memory. Instructions are printed in Beginner Teacher for using them.

Lesson 4Ridin’ BoldPeter Reaches the LostActs 10:9-22, 34-43; 11:1, 2, 12-18

Teaching Pictures Visuals 4-1 and 4-2 are large enough for the whole class to see as you share Peter’s experience of taking the gospel to Gentiles—the non-Jews.

Memory Verse Poster The blessing of hearing beginners sing gospel songs lustily cannot be captured in a picture. Singing around a campfire is a special time for growing spiritually. Stress the value of being bold in singing as well as witnessing and other ways of sharing Christ. Display the poster along with other Memory Verse posters on your classroom wall.

Lesson 5Ridin’ CourageousEsther Faces DangerEsther 3:8-15; 4:1-17

Teaching Picture The single picture of the king and Esther follows the Bible Account presentation of someone dressed as Queen Esther as suggested in Lesson 5 in Beginner Teacher.

Memory Verse Poster The verse to memorize is one of the most important Bible verses children can learn. Wherever they go in life, the Lord will be with them to encourage and protect.
