EXPLANATORY NOTE
The organization and order of the practical training carrying out are based on the "Regulation about students' and learners' practical training", approved by the Council of Ministers decree # 860, "Adoption of the Regulation about students' and learners' practical training" dated 03.06.2010" (as in force on the Council of Ministers decrees of 04.08.2011 № 1049, of 09.12.2011 № 1663, of 11.09.2012 № 844, of 08.05.2013 № 356, of 22.08.2013 № 736) and Regulation "About students' practical training of the Educational Institution "Belarusian State Medical University" of 29.01.2014 #118
The aims of the educational practice "Nursing care" teaching and learning are to provide the students with the previously gained knowledge containing complete basic scientific data about professional activity of junior medical staff as well as the formation of the students' social, personal, professional competences associated with the medical team interconnection and junior medical personnel and patients communication. Educational practice "Nursing care" is a basis and preceding the professional clinical disciplines study.
The tasks of discipline teaching include: - acquaintance with the definite medical institution structure and the junior
medical staff job organization; - formation of the students' social and personal competences by acquisition of
interpersonal communication skills with medical personnel and patients; - formation of students' basic professional competences by the way of skills
gaining on knowledge application formed as a result of study the discipline "Care of patients and manipulation technique" .
Students' educational practice "Nursing care" is implemented in positions of junior medical personal of the definite health care institution.
Students are subordinated to all regulations of the basic medical institution during the "Nursing care" educational practice period. Student is admitted to the educational discipline "Nursing care" after safety technique on-site instruction.
Upon the practical training "Nursing care" course termination the student must know:
- the functions and tasks of junior nurse providing medical care; - peculiarities of interpersonal interrelations, basics of medical deontology;
organization and administrative documents, instructions on providing the sanitary and anti-epidemic regime in health care institutions;
list of disinfectants, rules of their preparation and using; main activities for providing the patients' microclimate, hygienic care and
nutrition; requirements to the organization of the junior medical personnel safe working
conditions; main principals of the hospital admission department work organization; responsibilities of the admission and in-patient departments junior medical
nurse;
the rules of patients' transportation. be able: to provide anti-epidemic regimen preventive measures of the health care
institutions in-patient departments; to provide personal patient's hygiene (partial and complete ) to provide patients' transportation and carry out the bed linen and underwear
changing / to provide feverish patients' personal hygiene care; to provide patients' supervision and care in case of respiratory diseases; to provide patients' supervision and care in case of cardiovascular system
diseases; to carry out patients' personal hygiene in case of gastrointestinal disorders; to carry out measures of bedsores prevention; to carry out measures of microbial decontamination of patients' private
hygienic equipment (personal inhalators. etc.); to provide a disabled patient's feeding; master: thermometry technique; techniques of arterial blood pressure (BP) measurement; techniques of arterial pulse rate measurement on radial arteries; techniques of breathing rate measurement; techniques of personal patient's hygiene (partial and complete); techniques of feverish patients' hygienic care, including those who suffer from
respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal diseases; Total number of hours for the discipline study is 108 academic hours in the
course of 2 weeks in the 3d-4th semesters. Educational practice «Nursing care» is carried out in the health care institutions which are the clinical bases of the Educational Institution Belarusian State Medical University.
Current assessment is carried out according to the syllabus of the specialty in the form of graded credit (4th semester).
Current assessment is carried out on the basis of the submitted student's report about fulfilled practical hours of the Educational practice programme "Nursing care".

AND STUDENTS
Academic, methodological and organizational supervising of "Nursing care" educational practice is implemented by the Department of the Internal Diseases Propedeutics teaching stuff.
The Department of the Internal Diseases Propedeutics professor is responsible for the quality of educational practice carrying out.
implements the control of organization and carrying out of educational practice;
supervises the fulfillment of the educational practice program; renders the methodological and organization assistance during the period
of educational practice carrying out; checks the students' reports; takes the credit on the clinical basis of educational practice or in the
department teaching rooms; - instructs the students in the safety techniques and labour protection;
STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITIES DURING THE COURSE OF EDUCATIONAL PRACTICE "NURSING CARE"
During the educational practice period student must: carry out the educational practice programme;
- issue the report about educational practice program fulfillment (Appendices 1-2) - follow the rules and norms of safety techniques, labor protection, fire safety and infection safety.
