Dear reader,
The book you are about to read was written by Spanish undergraduate
students of the World Languages & Cultures department and illustrated by
undergraduate students of the School of Art and Design, both from Georgia
State University.
This project has been made with my Intermediate Spanish classes and the
final product is a result of collaboration by the authors -students who wrote
the original stories based on personal experiences-, by the illustrators -Art
students who gave life to the stories with a fresh and unique touch-, and by
me, who directed and supervised the whole process.
I hope you will find the stories in Serie Leamos, appealing, interesting, and
enjoyable. Above all, I hope that these stories will help you love reading and
reading in Spanish.

Una mañana de primavera, nace una becerra. Ella es sana, hermosa y fuerte. Su nombre es Bella.
Bella es diferente a las otras vacas.Todas las vacas son marrones o negras. Ella es blanca con manchas negras.
Las otras vacas se ríen de ella por sus manchas. Bella no es feliz allí.
Bella trata de cubrir sus manchas con lodo. No funciona y ahora ella huele mal.
Bella está muy triste. Ella no puede eliminar sus manchas. Se siente muy sola y triste.
Un día, el granjero se lleva a Bella de la granja. Ella piensa que es por sus manchas. Está triste.
Cuando el granjero abre el remolque, Bella está en un lugar extraño.
Hay manchas blancas y negras por todas partes. ¡Ella está en una granja con vacas como ella! Todas son muy agradables. Algunas alaban sus manchas.
Bella siente que ella está finalmente en su hogar.
Bella está feliz y ya no está sola. Ella se da cuenta que no es diferente.
