20 December 2019 Bellingen High School NEWSLETTER Telephone: 02 66551 315 Fax: 02 66552 630 Website: http://www.bellingen-h.schools.nsw.gov.au From the Principal For our final newsletter of 2019, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many parents who have come in this year and the staff of Bellingen High – who have gone above and beyond in the teaching and learning of students at this school. I would also like to thank the office ladies for their efforts in assisting parents and students on a daily level – their calm, quiet efficiency is highly valued and appreciated. I would like to thank the parents and students for their support of the uniform policy in the last three weeks – there was a noticeable increase in uniform wearing and this surge also allowed us the opportunity to assist families who needed support in getting their family into uniform before 2020. This focus on uniform will continue from day 1 in 2020 as we support the P&C in their request that we be a uniform school. Should you face any difficulty in acquiring uniform and need assistance, please contact the school and we will assist as best we can. Our new Canteen Supervisor has been determined via application and interview. Ms Vickie Smart will run the canteen in 2020 for our students to enjoy. She has many great ideas and innovations which I look forward to her implementing, using the new Healthy Canteen Strategy. It was a sad day for Bellingen High on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, when Mr Tom Campbell retired and gave his farewell speech – which was highly entertaining and filled with many memories of a long, noteworthy and dignified career at Bellingen High School. We all wish him well in his retirement but hope to see him doing some casual work for us from time to time. Each year brings with it both highs and lows – all of which are celebrated and notarised at the End of Year Presentation Day, which was a tremendous success and definitely showcased the enormous amount of talent we have at our school. Finally, I wish each family a relaxed, happy festive season. Let’s do it all again in 2020! Yours in Education: Kim Dixon

From the Principal

For our final newsletter of 2019, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many

parents who have come in this year and the staff of Bellingen High – who have gone

above and beyond in the teaching and learning of students at this school. I would also

like to thank the office ladies for their efforts in assisting parents and students on a daily

level – their calm, quiet efficiency is highly valued and appreciated.

I would like to thank the parents and students for their support of the uniform policy in

the last three weeks – there was a noticeable increase in uniform wearing and this surge

also allowed us the opportunity to assist families who needed support in getting their

family into uniform before 2020. This focus on uniform will continue from day 1 in 2020

as we support the P&C in their request that we be a uniform school. Should you face any

difficulty in acquiring uniform and need assistance, please contact the school and we will

assist as best we can.

Our new Canteen Supervisor has been determined via application and interview. Ms

Vickie Smart will run the canteen in 2020 for our students to enjoy. She has many great

ideas and innovations which I look forward to her implementing, using the new Healthy

Canteen Strategy.

It was a sad day for Bellingen High on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, when Mr Tom

Campbell retired and gave his farewell speech – which was highly entertaining and filled

with many memories of a long, noteworthy and dignified career at Bellingen High School.

We all wish him well in his retirement but hope to see him doing some casual work for us

from time to time.

Each year brings with it both highs and lows – all of which are celebrated and notarised at

the End of Year Presentation Day, which was a tremendous success and definitely

showcased the enormous amount of talent we have at our school.

Finally, I wish each family a relaxed, happy festive season.

Let’s do it all again in 2020!

Yours in Education:

Kim Dixon
