  • Belmont & Beyond Our campus continues to grow, too, with 2015 marking the opening of a beautiful new cafeteria and state-of-the-art academic building. This comes on the heels of the 2014 addition of the Wedgewood Academic Center, Belmonts largest building to date which houses the colleges of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences, Sciences & Mathematics, and Theology & Christian Ministry programs along with numerous lab spaces and a 250-seat chapel. Other buildings worth boasting about include the McAfee Concert Hall, with its unparalleled acoustics, and the Beaman Student Life Center, home to our campus gym and rock-climbing wall as well as a central lobby for hanging out or studying. Greatand familiarfood options are available across campus as well with McAlisters Deli, Papa Johns Pizza, Chick-fil-A and a We Proudly Brew Starbucks venue that are just steps away, ready to provide a full meal or a quick snack.

Theres plenty to do on campus, with 145+ clubs and organizations to choose from. Bruins love to cheer on our 17 NCAA Division I teams or suit up themselves for seasonal intramural sports options. With more than half of Belmont undergrads living on campus, theres always something going on from socials, movie nights and concerts to a game of Quidditch or Frisbee on the Quad. The 5,500-seat Curb Event Center also regularly hosts concerts, guest lectures and special events on campus.

Theres no shortage of fun to be found off campus either. Belmont calls one of the nations fastest-growing cities home. Nashville continues to get noticed by national media for its growing restaurant, arts and music scene, but it hasnt lost its Southern charm. We were also named the friendliest city in America by Travel + Leisure in 2015. Sports fans love our professional football and hockey teams, and live music is a way of life here, with more than 100 venues in town. Students also love to take advantage of Nashvilles natural beauty with nearby lakes, rivers, hiking trails and parks.

The Belmont campus is just blocks from historic Music Row as well as the trendy coffeehouses, shops and restaurants of Hillsboro Village and the 12 South Neighborhood. Drive a few miles and youre in the heart of downtown, an interesting mix of honky tonks and history, with landmarks like the Ryman Auditorium, the Schermerhorn Symphony Center and the Frist Center for the Visual Arts just waiting for you to explore. Our status as the state capital means Nashville is a business hub, too, providing endless opportunities for internships in a variety of fields. With so much to offer, Nashville attracts people from all over the world, which is why its so easy for newcomers to feel at home here in Music City. Why not join us?

  • Transfer 101 Youve worked hard for each credit earned, and you want to make sure that will be acknowledged. While there is no minimum number of courses required in order to transfer to Belmont, previous coursework is generally accepted for transfer as long as they are college level (not remedial or developmental), academic (not vocational/technical) and not freshman orientation or freshman seminar courses.

Upon admission, Belmont provides each student with an unofficial Preliminary Transcript Review (PTR) indicating our estimate of how your credits will apply to the Belmont core requirements. During orientation, each transfer student will then work with his or her academic advisor to find out exactly if and how their transfer credits will apply to their planned course of study.

For more information on our transfer academic policies, visit belmont.edu/transfer.
