* Cover your last layer of compost with brown waste or dirt.

*Monitor your compost periodically.

*Keep your compost moist and odorless.

1. Create and prepare your compost box.

3. Deposit a layer of brown waste and dirt.

4. Deposit a second layer of green waste.

5. Continue adding layers until your container is full. Add water (Avoid flooding).

6. Mix the layers daily so air flows, which helps the decomposition.

Problem Cause Solution

Compost has bad smell.

It’s lacking air or it’s too wet.

Remove, air it out and add dry garden material.

Organic material isn’t completely dry.

It doesn’t have enough water.

Add water and remove wastes.

Plagues are present. (Flies, fruit mosquitoes)

Green wastes were not covered properly with brown wastes.

Place green wastes in the middle and cover with brown wastes.

Ants or bugs are present.

It doesn’t have enough water.

Add water to keep moist.
