last weekend’s auction for the Sunshine School for children with Special Needs on Bequia saw a full house crowd into the Salty Dog on a blustery, sunny Valentine’s afternoon to contribute just over ec$18,000 to this annual fund-raising effort. this sum included the proceeds of the auction, the sale of crafts and handiwork made at the
school, the raffle and the sale of food and drink at the all-donated bar.
the Sunshine School would like to thank Nigel and andre of the Salty Dog for kindly donating the use of
their premises, and all the donors, bidders, under-bidders and hardworking volunteers who once again ensured the success of this event with their generosity and their spirited contribution.

Despite this very successful result, the Sunshine School is still short of its target for this year and the need for funds is always pressing. there will be another chance to support the school at the massive annual Book & Jumble Sale on Saturday March 20th at 9am under the almond tree. contributions of unwanted books, good, clean cloth-ing and other items are still very welcome - and needed! So please, check in you closets, cupboards and bookshelves for all those unwanted gifts, extra books or surplus house-hold items and help make the 2010 Jumble Sale the biggest and best ever! items can be delivered to Sunshine School (on the road out of
