Parent-Child 'NorkshopFor Beresford Families

Held at Beresford School on

In this active, upbeat workshop, families practice using"People Safety"skills in everyday life situations familiar to elementary school children.

People Safety skills help prevent problems with peers, family, andstrangers. The skills can help kids feel safe and confident dealing withstrangers and with people they know, too. People Safety skills alsohelp strengthen important relationships by improving communication.

Using games, role-plays, and stories relevant to children in kindergar-ten through 5th grade, we'll practice skills to:

Be and act aware and confident

Check with adults if anything seems unsafe

Move away from possible problems

Follow Stranger Safety rules

Stay safe from hurtful words

Use voice as a safety tool

Set clear boundaries

Ma.kesafety plans so outings are more fun

Say "No" or "Stop" clearly and respectfully

Deal with other kids poking, pushing, grabbing, etc.

Use safety plans if you're lost in a store, park, or library

Get help from busy adults - and persist!

bilidades pueden ayudar a que los nirios se sientan seguros y conflad-os en el como interactuar con extraiios y con personas que tambienno conozcan, Las Habilidades para Gente ayudan crecer relacionesimportantes por medio de mejorar la communicacion.

A traves de juegos, role-plays y relatos relevantes par los nifios desdejardfn de infantes hasta 5 grado, practicaremos habilidades para:

Ser y Actuar Alerta con confianza

Como Revisar con adultos si algo no es seguro

EIMoverse de problemas antes que ocurran

Eiseguir las reglas sobre extrafios

EIMantenerse Alejado de palabras herrientes

EIusar la voz como una herramienta

Beresford's lGI on Saturday, June 11th from lOam-noon.

Limited to 20 children. Open to Beresford families. Children in x - s "grades. All childrenattending the workshop must be at least 4 years old. (Sorry, younger children may not stay orparticipate in the workshop.)

Cost is $15 per child including one or two adults. Each child must be accompanied by at least

one adult. Thanks to a grant from Whole Foods, we have some scholarships available. Contact
