Read all of the pattern instructions before beginning. This will help you plan how to orient your fabric. All seam allowances are ½".
• Outer fabric• Lining fabric• Fusible interfacing• 2 sets of long-prong snaps, approximately ½" diameter• Snap-setting tool

Print the Pattern
Print the pattern pieces found on page 11 of the instructions.
Cut the fabric and interfacing:
Tote Main: Cut 2 of outer fabric, 2 of lining fabric, and 4 of interfacing.
Tote Flap: Cut 1 of outer fabric, 1 of lining fabric, and 2 of interfacing.
Center Strip – cut on the fold: Cut 1 of outer fabric, 1 of lining fabric, and 2 of interfacing.
Strap – cut on the fold: Cut 1 of outer fabric and 1 of interfacing.

Step two
Fuse Interfacing Pieces
Fuse all of the interfacing pieces to the wrong side of each fabric piece, taking care to place the adhesive side of the interfacing against the fabric (and not the iron or ironing board!).
3
Begin Stitching Together Outer Fabric Pieces
Line the top of the Center Strip up with the top of one of the Tote Main pieces, with right sides together. Sew the Center Strip to the Tote Main piece by sewing along the outer edge of the Tote Main with a ¼" seam allowance. You’ll need to stop and readjust as you’re sewing, easing the Center Strip around the curve of the Tote Main piece. If the Center Strip extends past the Tote Main piece, trim away the excess so the edges match.
Step fourSew
Attach the other Tote Main piece to the other edge of the Center Strip, easing the Center Strip around the curves.
Step three
The three pieces stitched together should look like this:
Trim
Zigzag around each edge, and then trim off any excess fabric.
4
Repeat the previous steps to join the lining fabric pieces together.
Step five
Cut Notches
To eliminate some of the bulk when the Tote Flap is turned right side out, cut notches along the outer curved edge.
5
Turn the Tote Flap and Strap right-side out.Ironflat.
Construct The Flap
Place the two Tote Flap pieces right sides together. Stitch them together along the curved edge using a ¼" seam allowance.
Fold the Strap piece in half lengthwise, with right sides together. Sew along the long edges with a ¼" seam allowance, leaving both ends open.

Step Seven
Step eight
Pin the Strap
Pin the Strap to one side of the Tote, centering it along the Center Strip. Make sure the seam of the Strap is facing outward.
6
Slide Two Tote Sides Together
Slide the outer fabric Tote (right-side out) inside the inner fabric Tote (wrong-side out). The right sides of each piece will be facing each other.
Attach the Flap and Strap to Tote
Turn the outer fabric Tote piece right-side out. Pin the raw edges of the Tote Flap to the Tote with the outer fabrics facing each other, being sure tocentertheflapalongoneside.

7
Turn Out Tote
Begin turning the Tote right-side out through the opening.
Slide the outer Tote completely into the inner Tote so that the upper edges are even.
Stitch Upper Edge
Stitch around the upper edge of the Tote using a ¼" seam allowance. Make sure you catch the Tote Flap and Strap pieces in the stitching, and leave about 1½" open (for turning the Tote right-side out) along the side opposite the Tote Flap.

Step thirteen
8
Pin Edges Closed
After you have poked out and straightened all of the Tote edges, tuck the edges of the opening toward the inside and pin it closed.
Pullouttheouterfabricfirst.
Then push the lining fabric back toward the inside.
Step fourteen
9
Attach Snaps
Lastly, attach snaps to the Flap and the front of the Tote and to the end of the Strap and the Side of the Tote.
Sew Upper Edge
Sew all the way around the upper edge, nice and close to the edge. This stitching keeps the upper edge in place and also closes the opening— no hand sewing!
Zigzag Raw Edge
Zigzag the raw edge of the Strap to prevent fraying.
