Best Practice Award in Internal Audit 2016 Last year, the UAE Internal Auditors Association (UAE IAA) launched the inaugural Best Practice Award in Internal Audit. We were not sure of the response we would get. We still went ahead with the launch. We received a huge response and the first cycle was a big success. We also received some requests from organizations who were keen to visit some of the winners to learn more about their best practices. This is exactly what we were hoping would happen – and it did! This year’s cycle brings with it our experience of last year. Yes, you heard it right. We heard what you had to say and there are some changes. But that will be in the adjudication process. But more on that later. First things first. Here is the timeline. So what are you waiting for. Fill the “Intention to Participate” form and email to us. Stay tuned. Awareness MonthSnaps

May 2016The International Internal Audit

Awareness Month

May is International Internal Audit Awareness Month.

As an internal audit professional, you play an important role in raising awareness and elevating the profession. In 2016, The IIA celebrates its 75th anniversary, offering you an important opportunity to promote the profession among your stakeholders.

For example, you can customize your email signature and social media accounts with the International Internal Audit Awareness Month digital icon (depicted on top). You can hold a lunch-and-learn in your workplace to dispel myths about internal auditing and explain the value that a well-resourced, independent internal audit function can provide. You can also raise the profile of your internal audit department’s staff members by featuring their biographies in an article for your company’s intranet or internal newsletter.

Don’t let the opportunity pass to advocate the importance of internal auditing to your coworkers and other stakeholders. And let us know of your activities so we may add them into the month’s gallery.

For additional ideas, sample programs, tips, and templates, download the free Building Awareness Toolkit from The IIA’s website.
