Who is the camp for?High school varsity or near-varsity level girl an until camp is full. Wait lists are available once camps are full. Check-in takes place the first day of camp from 9:30-9:50 a.m. for the morning camp and 5:00-5:20 p.m. for the evening camp. Campers should wear comfortable practice clothing and tennis shoes, as well as bring a water bottle.
DAN NESSLER, Head Softball Coach
Dan Nessler enters his first season as the Head Softball Coach at Bethany Lutheran College. Nessler comes to the Vikings with a heralded resume as a fastpitch player and coach over the past 30-plus years.
A 2009 inductee in the International Softball Congress (ISC) Hall of Fame, and most recently, a inductee into the 2016 Minnesota Softball Hall of Fame. Nessler has played on three ISC World Championship teams with Penn Corp., while being named to the All-World tournament team four times. Nessler also played in four United States Olympic festivals. Locally, the St. James, Minn., native was a mainstay with Happy Chef fastpitch softball teams for 14 years in the 1980s and 90s.
An Amateur Softball Association (ASA) certified coach, Nessler has led both Mankato Peppers and Mints girls teams for many seasons. His 2013 and 2015 ASA 18U teams won the national championships, and he’s been an assistant coach for the 2015 and ‘16 ASA/USA men’s 19U softball teams that have played internationally.
Entering his first season as the softball coach, Nessler has put together a coaching staff that has many years of fastpitch coaching experience. Joining Nessler is Eric Lewis, Ashley Hanley, and Brent Meshke to help the Bethany softball program compete for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Championship.

CAMP DETAILS
HITTING SCHOOLThis camp will give your daughter a head start on the upcoming spring season. The camp offers a low player-coach ratio where each hitter will receive individual attention in a small group atmosphere. Each hour-long session will include hands-on coaching from members of the Bethany Softball staff. The hitters will go through a series of different stations that will offer a fun yet challenging environment. This type of instruction will hopefully get your daughter in great softball shape and put her well on the way to being a successful hitter in the upcoming season.

PITCHING SCHOOLThis camp will focus on the basic mechanics, throwing techniques, and strategies of pitching. Members of the Bethany Softball staff will be there to provide small group instruction. This camp will be a great way for your daughter to refresh her softball skills and at the same time get her ready for the spring softball season.
