Halloween Party On Friday, October 30th, students at Betz will be participating in a Halloween Parade. At 2:15, students will begin putting on their costumes. The parade around the neighborhood will begin shortly after students are dressed. The PTA is providing goodie bags for students. Students must be able to put costumes on independently over their clothes. Make-up, colored hair spray, toy weapons, and violent or gory costumes are not allowed. If you do not want your child to participate in the parade, please contact their classroom teacher. Traffic at Betz Elementary There are important “need to know” traffic areas around the facility: • “No Parking Zones” are marked in yellow on the curbs at
the intersections of 27th and Van Buren and 27th and Jackson.
• Please do not park on the crosswalks. It is unsafe for students and families to cross the street when cars are blocking their way.
• Parking vehicles on both sides of the street makes it difficult for other vehicles to travel safely. Buses cannot complete their routes on time when the road is blocked.
• Students can be picked up and dropped off in the loading zone in front of the school. Vehicles cannot be left there unattended.
The Bellevue Police Department will be increasing their assistance with arrival and dismissal to help improve safety for our students, families, and staff.

Fall Weather Approaching As the days are beginning to get cooler, it is important to
make sure that your child is wearing warm clothing. Whenever possible, please write your child’s name or initials in jackets, sweaters, and sweatshirts. This will help us identify any lost
clothing items. If you are in need of any assistance in providing warm clothing to your child, please contact Betz’s
school counselor, Laurel Derry.
After School
Plans It is important that both
you and your child know after school plans
before they arrive to school. Please notify the office before 2:00 PM of any changes to
