KEARNEYSVILLE –Summer is upon us, and with it, come all the best parts of the season – watching colorful � reworks displays, eating scrumptious burgers cooked to perfection on the grill, quenching our thirst with homemade lemonade, planning a long-awaited beach trip.
Maybe, besides cookouts and vacations, you’re looking to do something a little di� erent this summer, looking to make a di� erence and give back to the community. Consider becoming a Hospice of the Panhandle volunteer.
Hospice volunteers give freely of their time and resources in many ways. During the summer, volunteers can help clean a patient’s house or mow his or her yard, take him or her to lunch
or to that annual picnic he or she has always at-tended, provide a friendly visit in the home or an area nursing home, prepare a favorite meal or a bake a cake, or help with any number of fundraisers. � e possibilities are endless!
A new volunteer training class will be held July 11 and 18, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on our new cam-pus just o� Short Road in Kearneysville, in the Education Center. Prospective volunteers must attend both days.
