There are different kinds of teachers. When you are finished with the common teachers you go to a Sadguru. He will challenge you not to the outside, but to the inside. In the middle of the sea, the sand is quiet (when you go deep inside yourself, the mind is quiet). But, close to the beach, the sand is always upside down (in the outside world the mind is always agitated with numerous thoughts). The teacher finds the disciple only when the disciple has the urge for the teacher. The role of the Sadguru is to make one realized. The teacher is the mirror to the inside of oneself. To become a disciple you have to surrender. You have to understand yourself and build spiritual strength. Your faith has to be built on rocks. You go through many challenges. Only through surrender can you experience the Divine.” ~ Sri Swami Vishwananda

24/01/2016 Maha Full Moon OM Chanting - Reflections by James Conradie On the 24th of Jan 2016 the first full moon OM Chanting for the year was hosted at the Living Yoga Studio in Craighall Park. We had a good turn out for a Sunday morning, with 29 people including many first time OM Chanters. The OM Chanting was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants and many shared great experiences during the OM Chanting. Swami Vishwachakradharananda gave a lovely talk after the OM Chanting explaining the origin of the sound OM. He explained that in every religion physical creation begins with the word of God – essentially with sound vibration. This sound is described in the same way in all the major religions and is the sound AUM. He went on to describe that by chanting the sound AUM collectively in OM Chanting circles it has a tremendous healing effect both personally and universally by restoring balance to creation. He encouraged everyone to join the various OM Chanting circles around Johannesburg and also initiated a brand new OM Chanting circle leader to help spread this precious gift with more people in Johannesburg.

JHB Seva Project – Reflections by SavitriOn the 24 January 2016, Bhakti Marga Johannesburg embarked on a Seva programme at the Khauhelo Primary School which is situated in the Naledi which is in the heart of Soweto.Approximately 300 Learners together with their parents welcomed us. It is unusual to get such a turn out especially on a Saturday, but with Guru's Grace anything is possible. We were really blessed that Swami Vishwachakradharananda and Swami Vishwadhaanamjayananda accompanied us to the school. The children together with the parents were in high spirits so much so that the parents remained to join in the programme. The children greeted us in the 11 official languages and were colourfully dressed according to tradition of the various cultures. The children displayed their talent and skills in singing and dancing, wearing creative costumes which added rich flavour and ambiance .Their passion, love and rhythm was evident through their movements and song. The atmosphere was filled with love and enjoyment. It was evident that everyone present was thoroughly enjoying themselves with the youthful and vibrant energy in abundance, with the beat of the drums! The teachers also danced with the children and spontaneously presented an item on their own to our Swami's, devotees and all present. It was very clear that LOVE CONQUERS ALL! Swami Vishwachakradharananda then gave a short discourse on ”Love " .Swami kept it very short and simple as English is the second language and is a barrier to understanding . However Swami was able to drive his message home in a very loving and warm manner. The audience was intrigued. We then were brave enough to conduct a short Om Chanting session. It was strange for some of the people however most of the children and parents joined in and was amazed at the effect it had on them. The Swami’s then concluded the programme by distributing gift packs and the Matajis handed out lunch packs . The experience was amazing ! We were very humbled as Guruji yet again created an opportunity for us to spread his teaching and open our Hearts . Sri Swami Vishwananda Mahaprabhu- ki Jai!

12-14/02/2016 - Spiritual Retreat - Champagnes Sports Resort, Drakensberg - Reflections by Sanvir Bipulpersad

We were very fortunate to have spent this amazing weekend with our beloved Swami Vishwachakradharananda and the rest of the spiritual family. We experienced deep meditation sessions (techniques that Lord Rama and Buddha used), played tons of sports, including martial arts to learn discipline of the mind, body and soul. Grateful we are to have Swami Vishwachakradharananda who selflessly serves us and is continually giving, giving and giving. His giving never ends. His divine qualities have inspired us tremendously. He embodies the love of Sri Swami Vishwananda. Although I personally have not yet met Sri Swami Vishwananda in his physical form, Swami Vishwachakradharananda represents all his divine qualities for us. Swamiji taught us many valuable lessons, lessons such as constant and never-ending improvement of body, mind and soul. By taking care of this, it becomes your personal trademark for living a soaring, fully awakened existence. Self-mastery is the DNA of life mastery. In today's society, change is the most powerful force. Most people fear it, the wise embrace it. It's important to have a cup which is always empty; this will allow you to move to higher levels of achievement and fulfilment. Grateful are we to have the blessings of such great souls. Through their guidance we walk confidently on the path to enlightenment. For me, as long as I am developing spiritually, everything else is a bonus. The words we express do not do justice to the love we share for Guruji and Swamiji for it is a great task to type in the cold realms of words the warm sentiments best guarded by the wordless heart.

Pune welcomed Swami Vishwaparanthapananda almost three weeks ago, and it has been a very colorful and blessed time for all of those who were lucky to spend time and talk with him. Everyday OM Chanting was conducted in different parts of the city; some of the participants were so enthusiastic that they were willing to be there for all of the sessions! Almost everyone had an amazing experience each time the different groups convened, many heard different Divine sounds like bells, conches, sitar etc. and some could smell various wonderful smells of flowers that weren't present in the room. Swami was very generous with the people he met and blessed everyone with deeply touching as well as amusing stories of our beloved Guruji, each was perfect for the groups that were assembled and they found much learning from the same. Some of the topics that he spoke of were as below:“The Guru is not as one sees Him; He is beyond all karmas, beyond all understanding of the mind. The actions He performs in this world do not create karmas, but all merits and demerits surround the Guru. When one performs any action, one invites the merits or demerits upon oneself by default. The Guru does not punish and He is not affected by the actions that people around Him perform or their opinions of Him, but one is affected by one's own actions and hence, the merits or demerits flow from Him, towards one automatically.”“Mother Nature is constantly serving the Master, just as He is always serving her. When we destroy her creation by slaughtering animals for food or other animal product based industries, we are harming her.” He also very simply explained that when one consumes animals, it is like tying thousands of kilograms of weights to our legs and trying to climb the steep cliff of self and God Realization. It just does not make sense, and it has no political or complicated reasoning, it is just simple and logical to adopt a vegetarian lifestyle.Swami Vishwaparanthapananda shared many stories from Guruji's childhood and everybody who was graced to hear them was struck with wonder at the endless Leelas of our Lord. The miracles He has shown to various people are just a small glimpse of His Divinity and He so graciously shares all of this with us on a daily basis. How fortunate we are to have such a Merciful Satguru. Swami Paranthapa also explained how over the years he has seen the nature of miracles, which Guruji has been showing to the world, has changed. Earlier they were overtly visible on the outside, now they are more subtle, working on people's hearts, on their inner transformation.Swami Vishwaparanthapananda also worked with different people on the Mirrors Concept and invited the participants to look at the world through different lenses, ones that have Love at its core. The way he worked with everyone was truly remarkable. His insights, love and understanding as well as his frank and humorous conversations helped everyone to understand that each so-called problem can be released from one's life as soon as one truly surrenders to the Guru who shows us the way back to Love. We performed a Yagna, which a number of people were fortunate to attend. The atmosphere was of pure sweetness of the Divine. It has been the very greatest of blessings to be with Swami Paranthapa, as he also generously shared his experiences with and love for our Beloved Satgurudev. Satgurudev Sri Swami Vishwananda Mahaprabhu Ki Jai Jai Jai!!!
