This manual is written to understand and use CDR Inventory Port Reservation Application. Itcontains the procedures to be followed in the application to accomplish various tasks.

Purpose

The purpose of the manual is to guide the CDR Inventory Port Reservation application users to usethe various features of the application.

Scope

The scope of the manual is limited to the functionalities and features of the CDR Inventory PortReservation application for a BSNL staff user.

This manual does not cover operational details of the CDR Inventory Port Reservationapplications, in the form of developing screens, trouble shooting, and installation process for theunderlying servers, etc.

Intended Audience

This manual is intended for the users of the CDR Inventory Port Reservation application.

Prerequisites

The user should understand the BSNL processes to be followed with respect to CDR Inventory PortReservation.

1. Home Page

Home page for CDR Inventory Port Reservation application can be directly requested from CDR clarity application.

The request URL from CDR application should contain the following details : CDR Order Number Service User ID Telephone Number Circle SSA Exchange

2. Port Reservation Process

2.1 Selection of "Vendor Name"

The vendor names are generated upon clicking the button "Get VENDOR" button.On clicking the "Get VENDOR" button, the"Vendor Name" drop-down will be auto-populated for that particular exchange. The user needs to select required "Vendor Name" from the drop-down.

2.2 Selection of "DSLAM Name" and "Card Number"

The port reservation starts with clicking the button "Get DSLAM IP" button.On clicking the "Get DSLAM IP" button, the"DSLAM Name" and "Card Number" drop-down will be auto-populated for that particular exchange and vendor. The user needs to select required "DSLAM Name" and "Card Number" values from the drop-down.

According to the value selected for "DSLAM Name" and "Card Number", the values for "NAS IP"and "Outer VLAN" are auto-populated as shown in the above screenshot.

2.3 Selection of "Inner VLAN" and "Activity"

Now, the user needs to click "Get Inner VLAN" button in order to auto-populate the values for the "Inner VLAN" dropdown. Again , the required "Inner VLAN" and "Activity" values are selected, the user can go for inventory reservation of port by clicking on the "Reserve Inventory" button in the end of the webpage.

BSNL – TCS Inventory Port Reservation Application User Manual2.4 Selection of Vendor as “No Inventory” for vendor type -”HUWAEI and STERLITE”

Since 'Huwaei' and 'Sterlite' vendor types will not be configured at Metasolv end,the vendor type should be choosed as 'No Inventory'

For 'No Inventory' option, all the buttons will be freezed except 'Reserve Inventory' button.On clicking 'Reserve Inventory' button,a message will be displayed and for those exchanges , manual entry of the inventory should be done.

3. Port Inventory Reservation

3.1 Port Inventory Reservation : Success Scenario

After the "Reserve Inventory" button is checked , the application will take the user to another webpage displaying the details of port inventory reservation previously selected by user along with "RESERVATION STATUS" and "RESERVATION ID".

Once the Inventory is reserved successfully, a popup window will appear having options as shown in the above screen-shot.

Press OK to export inventory Press CANCEL to Unreserve Inventory

Screen-shot : Click on 'Ok' button : This will export the inventory to CDR which is mandatory.

After exporting inventory details to CDR , the user needs to close the web browser.

The inventory reservation activity through port reservation application is complete.

Screen-shot : Click on 'CANCEL' button : This will unreserve the inventory at P3.

After unreserving inventory, the user needs to close the web browser.

In case, the user intends to reserve a new inventory, a new session for port reservation application can be opened from Clarity.

3.2 Port Inventory Reservation : Failure Scenario

In case the details furnished to the application from the URL are not correct, then the application will take the user to another webpage displaying the details of port inventory reservation previously selected by user along with "RESERVATION STATUS" and "Message" as shown in the screeshot below.

3.3 Only one reservation per session is allowed

Only one inventory reservation is allowed per session or request from CDR Clarity Application.User is not allowed to go back to the previous webpage after successfully reserving port in the inventory. If the user tries to go back , a pop up window will open as shown in the below screenshot.

4. Other Failure Scenarios

4.1 Session Expiry

When the session of the user has expired or invalidated, the user will get the "Session Expired..."message as shown in the screenshot below.

The user will get this error if the database connection is down or the data furnished in not valid expected by the database as shown in the screenshot below.

If reservation is done for the user for whom a set of inventory is already reserved then the application throws an error and displays the reserved inventory in the message as shown in the screenshot.

4.4 Reserving inventory for same telephone number: If any inventory reserved for the same telephone number and different service user id then the application throws an error as displayed in the screen shot.

4.4 Already Existing Inventory Error

If inventory is already reserved but not exported to CDR, the inventory details will be present only in P3. If trying to reserve the same inventory(same service user id,same telephone number and samecdr order number) an error messasge will be displayed as- "Already existing inventory". At this time, inventory can be exported by clicking 'Export Inventory' only if the same CDR order number is given.

If you are trying to reserve an inventory with same service user id and same telephone number but with different CDR order number, an error message 'Already Existing Inventory' will be displayed.
