Culture is the social behavior and norms found in human

societies. Cultural diversity is a form of appreciating the

differences in individuals and celebrating them. Cultural

diversity is important because the world today has

become a global village and, schools, colleges and work

places increasingly consist of various cultural, racial and

ethnic groups. In order to build relationships and

facilitate living and working together, there needs to be

an understanding of the others’ cultures. CHRIST

(Deemed to be University) is a microcosm of that diverse

world. And Bhasha Utsav with its maxim, ‘understanding

languages, celebrating diversity, is a small attempt to

achieve that end.
