    Youth Training Report - 2012

East Coast Energy Private Limited (ECEPL) is developing a coal based 2640 MW

Super Thermal Power Plant near Bhavanapadu village, Santhabommali Mondal,

Srikakulam District, Andhra Pradesh, India. The ECEPL proposes to take a proactive

role in the overall development of the region for tangible economic growth and social

    development of the populace.

Youth unemployment is one of the critical issues that need immediate attention across

the country. The rapidly growing marginal workers, underemployment and youth

unemployment have to be addressed on priority in all the development programmes. It

is resulting in increasing financial stress to the family and also affecting peace and

harmony of the society at large. The literacy rate and education level has improved

significantly during last couple of decades but share of educated unemployed youth is

also increasing with a rapid pace.

In response to the high and growing rate of unemployment in Andhra Pradesh,

Bhavishya Bharathas developed a unique Youth Training Programme for the project

area of Bhavanpadu Thermal Power Project [BTPP] of ECEPL to enhance physical and

mental strength of the youth through development of soft skills for motivating and

realization of self potential to move towards self reliance and thereby improving the

quality of their lives. The training programme provided opportunities to local youth for

careers in Armed Forces, Paramilitary Forces and Police.

The two months structured training program was organized at the Youth Training

Center [YTC] established by ECEPL at Laxmipur Village. It is 58 KM from Srikakulam

    and 364 km from Hyderabad.

The local youths were informed prior to the programme through distribution of

pamphlets and village meetings. Though many youths applied for participation in the

programme but amongst them only the selected ones could get this unique opportunity.

Future of our society largely depends on the strength, vitality and spirit of the youth

they form the way for a bright and peaceful tomorrow.
