Stator Frame:

Page 8: BHEL Vocational Training

Single piece construction of welded steel.Supports the laminated core and winding.Minimize core vibrations and ensure

efficient cooling.Guide bars are welded inside the stator

frame.Rigid casing is required.

Stator Frame:

Stator Core:

Page 10: BHEL Vocational Training

Mounted in outer casing by welded springs.Made by stacking from the insulated

electrical sheet steel lamination.mounted in supporting rings over the

insulated dovetail guide bars.Core is made of thin laminations in order to

minimize eddy current losses.Ventilation ducts are distribute the gas

accurately over the core.

Rotor Shaft:

Page 13: BHEL Vocational Training

Single piece solid forging manufactured from a vacuum casting.

Rotor shaft is forged from a vacuum cast steel ingot.

Aprox 60% of the rotor body circumference is provided with logitudinal slots which hold the field winding.

Non uniform slot distribution on the circumference.

Rotor Shaft:

Rotor Winding:Consist of several coils which are inserted

into the slots. Two coil group form one pole.Several series connected turn each coil. Each turn consist of two longitudinal and two

transverse turns.Turns of the coils are insulated from each

other by interlayer.

It contained the centrifugal force of the rotor end windings.

Made of non-magnetic high strength steel (reduce stray losses).

Secured in the axial position by a snap rings.
