The Australian arm of the Ford Motor Company has one of the worlds most enviable reputations for producing the unique ‘Australian’ brand of motor vehicle. Many punters would argue that the GTHO’s were the defining point of the Australian produced muscle car, but there are others who believe that the makings of Ford Australia becoming a truly unique local brand was the inception of the Ford XA Falcon. Up until the 1970’s, Ford was still run with very close ties to Ford America, with many of the cars being designed with heavy American influences. The XA Falcon bucked this trend because it was a fully Australian designed model. This new car was introduced to the Australian public in 1972, and the GT Hardtop was quite a powerful edition. Despite this, in 1973 Ford decided to give the XA some extra street cred and added a few embellishments to the model to create a show car for Melbourne Motor Show. The result was the XA Falcon Superbird. This silver beast was easily identifiable due to the giant orange bird graphic which took up the majority of the car’s sides. The interior was given a splash of colour also with red and grey being the colours of the hour but the majority of the rest of the car remained in its usual GT running gear. Motoring enthusiasts certainly stood up and took notice of this car and due to the fanfare, Ford decided to produce a limited run of the model. Some punters argue that the production version released by Ford was a step down from the original showcar, while others argue that it was more refined, and much nicer on the eye. In any case, the giant bird graphic which adorned the sides of the showcar was removed, replaced with a much smaller, and more subtle version on the back rear quarters of the car. This coupled with a slightly smaller V8 engine than what was advertised to be in the showcar concept was the source of many discussions. However, these changes didn’t seem to affect anyone from opening their wallets though, with Ford selling a reputed 700 units of the production model. The Superbird signalled a real coming of age for the Australian motor industry, with numerous manufacturers taking the Superbird’s lead with respects to looks and performance. As you might be aware, we announced this model some time ago but development has been a long process due to the tooling changes this model required. The Superbird development wasn’t as simple as just ‘repainting’ a GT Hardtop. Some changes that have been made to produce this model accurately include new front quarter panels, bonnet, air filter, front grille, steering wheel, seats, door trims, and rear window louvers. We think you’ll agree that the wait and changes have been worth while and this historic model, in all its beauty will be one for Ford fans and muscle car enthusiasts alike. MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM BIANTE MODEL CARS

Biante Model Cars are very pleased to present the opportunity to place your orders for the stunning 1:18 Scale Holden HQ Monaro GTS350 Sedan in the fantastically named colour scheme of Purr Pull with White stripes.

The Holden Monaro could easily lay claim to being one of Australia’s most iconic and most beloved cars that has ever been produced. From its inception in 1968, to its modern evolution in 2001, the Monaro has, and always will have a place in the Australian motor enthusiasts heart.

The HQ Monaro was the first model series to make up the second generation of Monaros produced for the Australian market from 1971 to 1977. The new HQ series featured a new body design and was faced with some unfortunate competition from within its own ranks, which some argue hurt its progress at the time. The Statesman luxury sedan was also available with the 350 engine as an option and the replacement of the bigger coupes with the Holden Torana GTR XU-1 as Holden’s favoured machine for Touring Car racing both combined to detract some of the attention away from the Monaro.

In 1973, Holden introduced bonnet and boot lid paint outs to the range in a bid to counter these issues. Some also claim it was purely a move to help avoid consumer confusion between the newly released 4-door Monaro GTS sedan, and the much more humble Kingswood sedan, from which the GTS was based. The bold striping on the bonnet and the boot lid added an iconic element to the HQ Monaro GTS and this particular replica features what is widely considered as the most striking colour combination of Purr Pull with White stripes.

The colour combination and finishing for this model are super impressive. When this is combined with the accurately replicated and highly detailed engine bay, interior, undercarriage, boot and wheels, you get a model that is sure to be a popular addition to collections. Ensure you don’t miss out on our very first HQ 4-door and place your orders for this model as soon as possible.

Biante Model Cars are very pleased to present the opportunity to place your orders for the 1:18 Scale Ford XY Falcon GTHO Phase III in Onyx Black.

In 1971 Ford Australia released a Falcon which would not only become the most iconic car produced by the blue brand in Australia, but perhaps the most iconic car in Australian motoring history. The Ford Falcon GTHO Phase III was, and arguably still is, the ultimate Australian muscle car. With a unique high output 351 cubic inch V8 that propelled the XY to a quarter mile time of under 14.5 seconds, this car was definitely ahead of its time and could push significantly more expensive European sports cars to their limit. Combining this with a striking palette of colours, GT stripes, decals and the instantly recognizable aggressive air intake protruding through the bonnet, the Ford XY Falcon GTHO was, and still is an extremely special car to own.

While it is a certain fact that with only 300 genuine XY GTHO Phase III’s being produced, any original Phase III is a very rare and highly sought after car for Australian muscle car enthusiasts, the Onyx Black is certainly one of the rarer versions of the GTHO in existence. Similarly to our previously announced Rothmans Blue GTHO, the Onyx Black edition was a rare one off edition and the inclusion of the sunroof makes this a very special version of this iconic muscle car indeed.

This model finely replicates the 1971 Ford XY Falcon GTHO Phase III in Onyx Black, including the optional sunroof. The Black paint job works in perfect harmony with the iconic Gold 351-GT side stripes which gives this model an impressive look when displayed. The bonnet and boot features matt black style GTHO striping which gives the model an interesting edge and helps the side stripes stand out even more. As usual the engine bay, interior, undercarriage, boot, wheels and front grille are all finely detailed.

Ensure you place your orders as soon as possible to avoid missing out on this fantastic replica of another rare Australian Muscle Car.

Biante Model Cars are pleased to present the opportunity to place your orders for the 1:18 Scale 2004 Holden Monaro CV8-R in Pulse Red.

You would be hard pressed to find anyone in Australia who had never heard of the Holden Monaro, regardless of whether they are a motoring enthusiast or not. The Monaro is one of the most revered names in the Australian automotive industry and this iconic car has been turning heads in its numerous forms since its inception in 1968.

While the original Monaros of the late 60’s and 70’s are unquestionably iconic and beautiful cars it was perhaps the development of the more contemporary third generation version in 2001 that further enhanced the legacy of this famous Holden beast. The third generation Monaro had a round-about way of making its appearance to the Australian Market. In 1998, Holden unveiled a Holden Commodore Coupe concept car at the Sydney Motor Show to much hype and acclaim, and it didn’t take long for the motoring media to describe it as the new Monaro. While it can be argued that it wasn’t the initial intention of Holden for this new concept to become an addition to an existing nameplate, public demand started growing and orders begun to flow in to the Holden HQ so the move was taken to re-design the concept for production. By 2001 the Monaro was launched at a reported cost of $60 million and 22 months of development.

After numerous versions of the new modern Monaro, in 2004, Holden unveiled a limited edition CV8-R in Pulse Red which was featured at the 2004 Melbourne International Motor Show. Based on the Series III, the Pulse Red edition featured 18-inch five spoke alloy wheels, front and rear lamps with silver vision globes, black chrome exterior badges and a Holden By Design sunroof.

This 1:18 Scale die-cast model featuring fully opening parts, highly detailed features including the engine bay, interior, wheels, boot and undercarriage is an exceptional replication of a much loved car. Please place your orders as soon as possible to ensure you don’t miss out on another fine Australian road car from Biante Model Cars.

BUNDABERG BRILLIANCE*1:18 Scale Prototype Model Shown

Biante Model Cars are pleased to present the opportunity to place your orders for the 1:18 Scale 2011 Bundaberg Racing Holden VEII Commodore V8 Supercar, driven by Fabian Coulthard and Craig Baird in the 2011 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

Kiwi Fabian Coulthard has established himself as one of the best recent racing exports of New Zealand in the V8 Supercar era. After originally appearing on the Australian motorsport radar at the Albert Park Formula Ford support event in 2002, Coulthard raced overseas before returning back to Australia to compete in Porsche Carrera Cup He won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2004 and returned in 2005 to claim the title. Signed as an endurance driver with Tasman Motorsport in 2004 in V8 Supercars he ran part-time schedules with Paul Morris Motorsport before signing with Paul Cruickshank Racing in 2008.

After two seasons with the Queensland team, he moved to Walkinshaw Racing in 2010 and spearheaded a two-car Bundaberg Red Racing operation alongside the Holden Racing Team entries, though the season would prove to be tough with results lacking. Coulthard returned in 2011, though in a single car Bundaberg entry from Walkinshaw Racing now running in black, orange and silver colours under the #61 as stable mate to HRT duo Garth Tander and James Courtney. The #61 Commodore had a refreshed livery in time for the biggest race of the year at Bathurst with a black, white and silver scheme promoting Bundaberg Five White Rum livery.

The change of colours also came with the hope of a turn-around in luck compared to Coulthard and Baird’s Bathurst assault from 12 months earlier in 2010. Coulthard escaped from a multiple rollover when a left rear tyre blew entering the Chase on the opening lap of the classic race, and sent him onto highlights reels for years to come! Keen to repay the Mountain a year later, Coulthard’s 2011 Bathurst assault didn’t exactly start brilliantly as he qualified a lowly 20th in the 29-car field. His fastest qualifying time (2m08.7746s) was deleted for blocking the Alex Davison / David Brabham IRWIN Ford during the Friday afternoon qualifying session, forcing him to revert to his second fastest time (2m08.7978s).

Coulthard was behind the wheel for the start of the 161-lap Mountain dash and settled in during the early laps to run 20th for the opening 10 laps. But on lap 11 he found himself in a position he couldn’t squeeze out of as Jason Bright’s Team BOC Commodore stuttered and misfired on the exit of the Dipper, forcing Coulthard to try and take avoiding action as his fellow Holden pilot’s Commodore had a sudden loss of power. The problem was that as Coulthard went to the left, Bright decided to do the same, thinking he was getting out of the way, and contact unfolded. The two cars bumped and the Bundaberg Commodore’s left side bounced off the wall, forced to limp back to the pits with its geometry affected and not steering correctly. A broken steering arm was replaced and Baird sent back onto the circuit but it quickly became apparent that the damage was simply too great to safely continue in the race. He managed to do two out laps before the team called it a day and the car was the first retirement of the 2011 race with just 13 laps completed.

It was the second straight year the team, and two drivers, had failed to finish the biggest race of the season and not even made it to the first pit stop. But at least they had made it past the Chase, the first lap and didn’t have a car that required a complete rebuild before the next event! Coulthard would go on to finish 12th in the 2011 V8 Supercars Championship before moving to Brad Jones Racing for the 2012 season.

Despite the cars lack of on track success at Bathurst that year, it is undeniable that the Bundaberg Five White Rum Livery was extremely impressive and the model accurately reflects this. Produced in die-cast featuring a fully detailed racing interior, boot, engine bay and undercarriage, this is an impressive V8 Supercar model and represents another step in the career of Fabian Coulthard, one of the series fastest growing identities.

Please place your orders as soon as possible to ensure you don’t miss out on this model.

Biante Model Cars are very pleased to present the opportunity to place your orders for the 1:18 Scale Sprint Gas Racing Holden VE Commodore V8 Supercar driven to a 2nd place finish in the 2008 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 by Greg Murphy and the late Jason Richards. We’re pleased to announce that part proceeds from the sale of this model will be donated to the family of Jason Richards.

Formed in 2004 after a buy-out of the Lansvale Racing Team, Tasman Motorsport competed for six years in the V8 Supercars Championship and regularly was a contender in the biggest race of the year at Bathurst. The 2008 race was no exception as Kiwi pair, the late Jason Richards and four-time race winner Greg Murphy, paired up to drive the lead #3 Sprint Gas-backed Commodore in the Mount Panorama classic. They would finish a very close second to the TeamVodafone Falcon of Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup and give Tasman its second runner-up result in the Bathurst race after Richards and Whincup had finished second in 2005.

After finishing fourth the previous year at Bathurst in 2007, the Tasman team committed to building two brand new cars in ’08 under former Holden Racing Team Manager Jeff Grech. Murphy debuted a new car in the inaugural event in Hamilton before Richards debuted his new car at the Sandown sprint event midway through the season. Engine dramas sidelined the combination in the 500-kilometre race at Phillip Island, though they arrived at Bathurst as contenders for the 161-lap ‘Great Race’. Driving Richards’ newer #3 car, the Sprint Gas team quickly proved themselves to be contenders early in the weekend as they finished Thursday practice third fastest overall on the timesheets. Murphy punched out a 2m07.6660s lap to again be among the contenders in Friday practice, though Richards would be given the nod to qualify the car. He ended up second to only Mark Winterbottom after two legs of qualifying, setting a 2m07.2333s, but would find even more speed on Saturday in practice when he joined the exclusive club of V8 Supercars drivers to have lapped the Mountain in the 2m06s bracket, a stunning 2m06.9076s. But he was unable to back it up in the pressure of the one-lap Shootout on Saturday afternoon and was forced to settle for sixth place on the grid with a 2m07.9876s lap.

Murphy was given starting duties for the big race on Sunday morning and the #3 Commodore’s race was very nearly over before it had even got going. Contact with his former teammate Lowndes on the run up Mountain Straight on the first lap left the Commodore with bent steering and looking at the possibility of their chances of victory being over early. Murphy pitted on lap five to have a flat-spotted tyre

changed (after spearing off at the Chase) and rejoined back in 27th and last place, though still with bent steering. From here he and Richards started a fight back mission akin to the victorious one of Larry Perkins and Russell Ingall in 1995.

Murphy had to drive around the steering problem and had recovered to 15th by lap 28 but the #3 Commodore was still far from a happy racecar. Ironically though, it would be the second Vodafone Falcon, driven by Brit Marc Hynes and Italian Fabrizio Giovanardi, that would, during Richards’ first stint, fix the steering problem created by the lead Vodafone Ford. A bump between the second Triple Eight-run car actually set the steering back to a more useable position, allowing Murphy to step back in and set a faster lap time in his second lap out than he had managed in his entire opening stint! The Sprint Gas car was back in the game and Murphy and Richards would continue their fight back through the field, rising to fourth place by lap 127.

The Safety Car appeared on lap 145 after Matt Neal bunkered the second Supercheap Auto Commodore at Murray’s Corner and it returned on lap 147 after Craig Baird clashed with Warren Luff and nosed the #2 Holden Racing Team car into the tyre wall at Griffin’s Bend. Murphy was third behind Craig Lowndes and Steve Richards on the restart on lap 150 with the Vodafone car skipping away when the green flag flew. Ironically, Murphy was chasing the two drivers he’d won his first two Bathurst titles with (Lowndes in ’96 and Richards in ’99) and he quickly locked onto the back of Richards’ Castrol FPR Falcon. By the time he worked his way past Richards’s oversteering Falcon on lap 158 exiting the Chase, Lowndes was 3.1-seconds clear and he would bring it home to claim victory with Murphy just 2.5s between at the fall of the chequered flag.

It was a gusty fight back by Sprint Gas Racing’s pair of New Zealand pilots to claim second position with a total of 11 cars on the lead lap at the end of the race. Things would change for 2009 with Richards departing for Brad Jones Racing and Murphy joined at Tasman/Sprint Gas Racing by Jason Bargwanna before the team closed down at the end of the ‘09 season.

Sadly, Richards would pass away from a rare form of cancer late in 2011 with the 2008 runner-up result one of his three memorable Bathurst podium finishes. We’re very pleased to be replicating this V8 Supercar that was raced by two iconic New Zealand drivers who are adored in Australia as much as they are in their homeland. Please place your orders for the 2008 Bathurst runner-up as soon as possible to avoid missing out.
