The Beginning

The story of Jesus Reigns began on the eve of New Year 2012 in Cebu, Philippines when a vision of people marching, bringing banners of the name of the town they represent, streamers that has the attributes of God with no emphasis of any church, denomination and establishment, and a helicopter hovering around the sky bannering the name of Jesus, were revealed by God to a woman, whose name shall remain anonymous, while she was pondering on the Lord. The vision revealed a grand worship concert to be held on November 30, 2012 with a fireworks display showing the names of God. 

Stepping Out in Faith

With the support of her husband and confirmation of the vision by the Lord through pastors and with much prayer, necessary preparations were made to make the vision a reality.  The couple believed that God will provide the necessary finances to fund an event of such magnitude for nothing is impossible with Him. 

And so, in obedience, the vision keeper, began to share the vision to others specially to the pastors and churches. And like wildfire, the vision was caught and ignited a fire in the hearts of the pastors and churches in Cebu.

And it shall be called, "JESUS REIGNS"

God proved it was His event. Although a number of titles were suggested as the name of the event would be, it was the title “JESUS REIGNS” that stood out.  The LORD confirmed the title through his Word in Psalm 47:8-9. Indeed, the title is a declaration that Jesus reigns in Cebu. 

“God reigns over the nations; God sits upon His holy throne. The princes and nobles of the peoples are gathered together, a [united] people for the God of Abraham, for the shields of the earth belong to God; He is highly exalted.”(AMP) 

In an act of obedience to the instruction of God, the vision keeper then poured oil around Cebu province for 7 days up in the sky while praying and fasting were held simultaneously in churches, homes, and halls across the 47 municipalities and cities of Cebu for 7 days.  Intercessors and prayer warriors also flocked to the airport and seaport areas, the gateways to the province.

The Celebration Begins

And so that which was spoken by God finally took place on November 30, 2012. 

Thousands of people, young and old from all walks of life, denominations, churches and establishments came as one body to worship and intercede for the province of Cebu. In a spirit of jubilation, people walked through the streets of Cebu holding banners with the names of God.   

The celebration ended with fireworks as shown in the vision.

the vision becomes national  In 2013, the Jesus Reigns vision keeper received another instruction from God to hold simultaneous JESUS REIGNS celebration in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao on November 30.

The instruction was confirmed by God’s word in Jeremiah 18:15:

“Yet My people have forgotten Me; they burn incense to false gods, they have been caused to stumble in their ways and in the ancient roads, to walk in bypaths, in a way not graded and built up [no on a highway].” (AMP)

Another confirmation came through 1 Peter 2:9:

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” (AMP)  

The Beginning of the Annual JESUS REIGNS: A Day of Celebration

Armed with God’s promise that it is He who will unite the body of Christ to exalt the name of Jesus, the vision keeper declared the holding of a simultaneous JESUS REIGNS celebration in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.  God opened the door for the vision to be shared nationwide. And just like in the province of Cebu, the pastors and church leaders nationwide caught the vision and ignited a passion to come together as one body to honor and declare Jesus as the Reigning King of the Philippines.

In preparation for the simultaneous celebration and in obedience to the instruction of God,  the vision keeper together with representatives from Luzon and Mindanao  poured oil over the Philippines from the air.  This act of obedience was followed by supernatural manifestations of God who displayed over 10 rainbows in the course of the group’s trip from Manila, Cebu and General Santos.

And on November 30, 2013, as directed by God, simultaneous celebrations were held in Tondo, Manila in Luzon, Cebu in the Visayas, and in General Santos City in Mindanao.

A Call for A Simultaneous Nationwide Celebration

“Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: “Let my people go, so that they may hold a festival to me in wilderness.” (Exodus 5:1, NIV)

In 2014, a call was sounded to church leaders across the 82 provinces in the Philippines to hold a simultaneous JESUS REIGNS celebration on November 30.  The call was made in obedience to God’s instruction to hold a nationwide festival in honor of Jesus. Since then, an annual nationwide simultaneous JESUS REIGNS Celebration has been held. 

A call to the nations

In 2016, the call that began in Cebu, Philippines that sparked a nationwide celebration resounded beyond the shores of the Philippines. That year, church leaders in Japan and Indonesia came to know about the vision and responded to the call to hold their own JESUS REIGNS: A Day of Celebration.   In 2018, the vision was cast among believers in Jesus in the US.  https://youtu.be/n2oJl6hBhN8
