Bible Trek Introduction

What is a Bible Trek™? It is a five lesson trip through the entire Bible. We will purposely tacklesome of the difficult areas. Our goal is to give answers in a concise form, to the following (among many):

Is the Bible a reliable document and source of truth? Does science contradict the Bible Does the Bible really portray a plan? What about evolution? How can I have a relationship with God? Is Jesus the Messiah? When will the end times occur? Why do bad things happen to good people? And much more …

Our goal is not to study everything in the Bible, but to put the Biblical information in acontext that is understandable and makes sense intellectually, chronologically and spiritually. In order todo this we will focus on what is absolutely essential to know and understand about the Bible and God’splan, and leave the rest to later advanced studies. Also note: It is very difficult to translate Hebrew andGreek into English. A lot of confusion about the Bible results from our inability to translate the words aswritten in the original language into English. For example: there are six Greek words (all with differentmeanings) for the one English word love. When possible and when space permits, we will elaborate on thewords that MUST be understood to make the Biblical passage understandable in its original context.

In the live Bible Trek presentation WE ALWAYS READ EVERY SCRIPTURE. This way at the end ofthe lesson you won’t say, “Well, Scott says …” Instead you’ll be able to say, “The Bible says ..... .” We hopethis has been accomplished in this written lesson plan.

By its very nature, this manual is in a constant state of change. New scientific andarchaeological discoveries shed new light on the scriptures daily. If quoting from thismanual - be sure you have the latest version since these discoveries can change the focus ofany part of the information presented.

The Bible is literally “God breathed.”1 It began 14 centuries before Jesus Christ when Godtold Moses to pick up his pen and start writing. Moses, who had once been a prince in Egypt, was already120 years old at the time. More than 1500 years later it was finished on a remote island in theMediterranean Sea by a former fisherman named John the Apostle. In the process, 66 books were writtenand, over the centuries, approximately 40 different men and women (representing many differentbackgrounds cultures and styles) served as God's channel for His Word. Incredibly, despite its variationsin time and talent and written in three languages, the completed work displays a marvelous unity. TheBible reveals to us God’s plan for the world, His plan for each of us, His nature and how God (who isbeyond our comprehension) wants us to know Him. Ironically, He asks us to call Him in the Hebrew“Abba,” which in English means "Daddy”(Romans 8:15). The oldest known fragment of BiblicalScripture is a short passage (Numbers 6:24-26) and dates from 587 BC.

Science itself, far from being contradictory of the Bible, actually confirms the Biblicaltruths. Recent physics discoveries show that not only is the Bible accurate in its depictionsof the universe, God’s extra dimensionality, miracles etc., it was written 1400 years beforethe ability existed to prove (or disprove) the Bible. The Bible is the ONLY RELIGIOUSBOOK in existence that not only lists these elements of multi-dimensionality (it lists 11 -we live in only four), but it is the only book written in history prior to the modern era that

does so. This alone is evidence of “Divine Inspiration.” The Bible presents doctrines of belief that areonly possible outside of the four dimensions that we live in (time, length, width and height). Virtually allother so called “holy” books written, present their doctrine solely in the context of known fourdimensions and some, including cults and sects off of biblical Christianity, actually try to resolve apparentdifficulties by adding scientifically false answers to these dilemmas. These contradictions only show thatother “holy” books, religions, cults, etc. that are written solely from a four dimensional human perspectivecannot be God-designed, but are, in fact, man-made.2 Atheists have long declared that religion ismanmade--they are correct!

The accounts of Jesus, "God’s only begotten Son",show us a side of God that cared so much about Hiscreation that He came to earth in an earth suit to pay apenalty we could not pay; therefore, He paid itHimself. Jesus, through His sinless life and unselfish

willingness to suffer death (even death on a cross), shows us that while God is righteous, just and cannotcondone sin, He was willing to become sin for us so that we might have eternal life. This is why we callHim Savior because He literally saved us from Gods’ wrath for the sins we commit.

Approximately 1/3 of the total Bible directly or indirectly deals with prophecy or theforetelling of events that have happened (but at the time were in the future), are happeningnow or will happen. Of that 1/3 , nearly 2/3 of God’s’ prophecies have already beenfulfilled and fulfilled exactly as foretold. This fact alone should convince anyone that theBible is "God breathed". God is the author of all prophecy and therefore is 100% accurate

(not 99%). The best prognosticators of our time do not even have success rates of 2%.3 The probabilityof prophetic success becomes even harder as we extend the time period from a relatively short time periodto centuries-even millenniums. Yet no single fact in the Bible has been disproved. That’s not to say thatthere aren’t some very controversial topics in the Bible (As you will see in this first lesson). It is also not tosay that all have BEEN proven or we wouldn’t call it FAITH!

1 II TIMOTHY 3:16,17 SAYS "All scripture is God Breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be

An Overview of the Entire Old Testament

Creation -- Genesis Chapter 1 and 2

According to Dr. Gerald L. Schroeder (a scientist and orthodox Jew) in his book GENESIS AND THEBIG BANG, most scientists believe that the world is about 16 billion years old. By using Einstein'sTheory of General Relativity, he related scientists’ time table of 16 billion years divided to God's time tableand found that, by using the universal laws of physics, the earth could have been created in 5.8 days--almost exactly equal to the Genesis account!

Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity has been proven (by Nobel prize winning physicists Russell Hulseand Joseph Taylor) to be accurate within a trillionth percent precision1 (14 decimal places). Einstein’stheory is the most accurately tested theory in the history of science.

Let me quote from Hugh Ross, world renowned Astro-Physicist and Author from his Reasons to BelieveConnections newsletter (Third Quarter/1999, Vol /1 No./3):

“ [The theory of general] relativity powerfully testifies of divine creation. How?Einstein's theory of general relativity tells us that space, time, matter and energy all havea finite beginning, a statement uniquely consistent with the biblical doctrine of creation. In one sense, to affirm the equations of general relativity is to affirm the Christian'sconfidence in the reliability of Scripture and, thus, of it's salvation message.

...no rational excuse remains for questioning that general relativity really does govern thedynamics of the universe. And, if general relativity is true, the universe began astheBiblical account - and only that account among all creation stories known tohumanity."

In the beginning

God has always existed; therefore, for Him, there is no beginning. However, when Godsays in Gen. 1:1 "In the beginning" He is talking about time--something He created. Hehas chosen to allow us to view the history of the time period of man. This in no way infersthat God was not busy doing, relating and creating, etc. before this time; it simply is thehistory of man as God wants us to see it. In fact, the time span between Gen. 1: 1 andGen. 1:2 could be millions or even billions of years. God is not precise in giving this

information, I believe, intentionally. We have no way of knowing at this time, nor will we know, until Hereveals it. In addition, He has allowed us to see some details of events that happened OUTSIDE of thehistory of man. We are not given all the details because they are not about us. However, the informationHe has elected to let us see is pretty enlightening, as we shall see later.

"In thebeginning" Godis talking abouttime

6

"[First, this planet]… turns out to be custom made for life. “When you realize that thelaws of nature must be incredibly finely tuned to produce the universe we see, thatconspires to plant the idea that the universe did not just happen, but that there must be apurpose behind it.” Quoted from John Polkinghorne, Physicist at CambridgeUniversity, and past President of Queens College, Cambridge, England. 2

And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

Yet He did not create the sun and the moon until the fourth day;

Genesis 1:16God made two great lights--the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to

govern the night. He also made the stars.

The answer is found in John 1: 1-5

John 1:1-5In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2]He was with God in the beginning.[3] Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has beenmade. [4] In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. [5] The light shines in thedarkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

John 8:12When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoeverfollows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

The answer then is JESUS! Very Important – He did not create Jesus, He just said “Letthere be …”.

Genesis 1:2Now the earth was formless and empty, darknesswas over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit ofGod was hovering over the waters.

Note: that there are two very special words in Genesis 1:26. The words are US and OUR. This is the firstreference to the Trinity, or Father, Son and Holy Spirit (also known as the Triune God or three in one).

A few interesting observations onthe Genesis creation account:

On the first day of creation:

Who or whatwas the lightin Gen. 1:3?

Does the BIBLE tell us that theHoly Spirit was there at creationalso?

7

GEN 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let themrule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

The word Trinity is not found in the Bible, but the concept of a triune God is clearly taught from the Oldto the New Testament. These passages show us that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit were all here at thebeginning and also in agreement with what was taking place. This is very important! Some religioussystems point to the fact that they believe in the Bible and in the same God as Christians. They just don’tbelieve in the Holy Spirit or Jesus. The Bible does not give us that option. This is contradictory to theBible and therefore proves that their religious system is not “another facet of Christianity,” but is, in fact, another religion or a cult.

The Bible declares that God made man out of the dust of the earth (Gen. 2:7). Researchers at NASA’sAmes Research Center have confirmed that “EVERY single element found in the human body exists within thesoil.” The scientists concluded, “We are just beginning to learn. The Biblical scenario for the creation of life turns outto be not far off the mark.”3

Adam and Eve have been proven by scientists to have been “the start of mankind genetically” -- even if theydon't want to believe that God created them.

From: US NEWS AND WORLD REPORT 12/4/95

“Genetic Eve Gets A Genetic Adam”

“…Virtually all modern men (99.9% ofthem) are closely related genetically andshare genes with one male ancestor. Weare finding that humans have very, veryshallow genetic roots which go backvery recently to one ancestor. Thatindicates that there was an origin in aspecific location on the globe and thenspread out from there.”

Note: this sounds very similar to the Genesis account.

Genesis 1:27So God created man in His ownimage, in the image of God He

created him; male and female He created them.

He looks like you and me? Actually, we don’t know, but our attributes are like God’s.

Q. What does God look like?

8

Genesis 1:28 (also in Gen. 1:26)God blessed them and said to them,"Be fruitful and increase in number;fill the earth and subdue it. Rule overthe fish of the sea and the birds ofthe air and over every living creaturethat moves on the ground."

TRANSLATION: SNAKE COMING!

(Do you want to know what God thinks about SEX? “Be fruitful and increase” is a commandment!)

Psalm 8:4-6What is man that You are mindful of him, the son of man that You care for him?

[5] You made him a little lower than the heavenly being and crowned him with glory andhonor. [6] You made him ruler over the works of Your hands; You put everything underhis feet.

Answer: Adam and Eve (this is veryimportant in this lesson!).

Isaiah 40:22He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth,

and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy,

and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

(This is also found in Psalms)

The word translated "circle" is "khug" in Hebrew (or "roundness”). After Isaiah wrote this, approximately2200 years would pass before the world would know that the earth is round. Columbus was a Biblescholar [and quite possibly Jewish] and he staked his life, reputation and total future on the truth of theBible! He headed west despite the prevailing belief of his day that the world was flat. He did this solelybecause the Bible said the world was round!

Q. WHO WAS GIVENTHE RULERSHIP OFTHE EARTH?

Q. Who did God establish as therulers over the earth?

Q. Does the Bible Say that Godcreated a flat earth?

9

This is from Christopher Columbus’s Book ofProphecies:

... our Lord opened to my understanding (Icould sense his hand upon me), so that it became

clear to me that it was feasible to navigate fromhere to the Indies; and he unlocked within me thedetermination to execute the idea.... Who doubtsthat this illumination was from the Holy Spirit?I attest that he [the Spirit], with marvelous rays oflight, consoled me through the holy and sacredScriptures.... encouraging me to proceed, and, continually, without ceasing for a moment, they

inflame me with a sense of great urgency.(Brigham 1991:179). The Light and the Glory (1977:17), excerpts from an earlier private

translation of the Book of Prophecies by Kling (see also West and Kling 1991:105).

It is very different from a map we would buy in theUnited States. Why? On the European map, the USAis not the center of the world. What is?

Ezekiel 5:5This is what the Sovereign Lord says: This is Jerusalem, which I have set in the center

of the nations, with countries all around her.

(Why chop in half the European/Asia continent just to portray the USA in the center?)

What are the odds of man knowing that Jerusalem is the exact center of the world 5,000 years ago? ButGod knew! He should, He created it. At the church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem there is a mark on

Q. Have you ever seen a map ofthe world from Europe?

the floor that actually marks the "center of the earth”. Ironically, it is halfway between the supposed tombof Jesus and the place where His cross was supposed to have been.

In Job 26:7 the Bible infers gravity.

Job 26:7He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; He suspends the earth over nothing.

No one can explain gravity, where it comes from or why it works. How this mysterious "action at adistance" can keep the earth attached to the sun 93 million miles away is unknown. The best explanationis what the Bible says, i.e., The earth is suspended on nothing.

Job 36: 27-28 speaks of the hydrological cycle, which was not confirmed until the 1600’s by Edward Haley(the scientist who discovered Haley’s comet). Job also states that there are fresh water springs in themiddle of the ocean.

II Kings 20:20, Hezekiah says he built a tunnel under Jerusalem to bring in water (711 BC). In 1880,archeologists discovered a 1700 foot tunnel hollowed out of sheer rock.Psalms 8:8: God says He formed the “paths in the sea”. Today we use those “paths in the sea” as our shippinglanes.

Black holes in space are distributed in seven solar masses (seven is God's number of perfection).According to Yale University professor Charles Bailyn, "Seven solar masses seems to be some sort of magic numberfor these things…the size of Black Holes is too uniform to be a matter of chance."4

Scientists have recently discovered evidence of a sudden shifting of the continents. This sudden shiftingaccounts for the incredible diversity of the plant and animal life in regions that now are close to each otherbut in the past were far apart.5 By simply reading Genesis 10:25 and 32 they could have found the exactexplanation:

Genesis 10:25Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his time the earth wasdivided; his brother was named Joktan.

According to Strong’s Concordance the name Peleg means earthquake in Hebrew.

Genesis 10:32These are the clans of Noah's sons, according to their lines of descent, within theirnations. From these the nations spread out over the earth after the flood.

Amos- a lowly shepherd writes in 750BC

Amos 5:8 He who made the Pleiades and Orion And changes deep darkness intomorning, Who also darkens day [into] night, Who calls for the waters of the sea Andpours them out on the surface of the earth, The LORD is His name.

Some other interesting notes:

11

What are the odds of a lowlyshepherd understanding thehydrologic cycle 750 years beforeChrist?

Genesis 1:21So God created the great creatures of the sea and

every living and moving thing with which the waterteems, according to their kinds, and every wingedbird according to its kind. And God saw that it wasgood.

In Gen. 1:21: the Hebrew word tanniyn is translated bythe [KJV] scholars as "great sea creatures" because at the time of the King James translation no one hadyet seen a complete dinosaur fossil. (Archaeology was not yet a science.) In actuality, the word tanniyn inHebrew means "land, monster, great sea creatures or big reptile" (two out of three references to a largereptilian land dweller).

The Biblical account states that dinosaurs and man lived, at least for part of the time, together.

Job 40:15-19Look at the behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an

ox. What strength he has in his loins, what power in the muscles of his belly! His tailsways like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are close-knit. His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like rods of iron. He ranks first among the works of God, yet his Maker canapproach him with his sword.

His tail is as big as a cedar tree. All large animals today(elephant, hippopotamus, rhinoceros) all have small tails. This description in Job mostly closely resembles a plant-eating Behemoth or Dinosaur, called Diplodocus andApatosaurus. Also note that God says the “Behemoth”was made along with Job (or man). The Bible says thatman and dinosaur lived together, at least for a time. Thebook of Job is considered the oldest book in the Bible.

ARE DINOSAURSSPOKEN OF IN THEBIBLE?

12

These stones are carved pictures form around 9,900 years ago clearly depicting dinosaurs that we would recognize.Note the man being eaten!

Q. First, is evolution a religion? YES! Why?

Both Creationism and Evolution have to be believed because conclusive proof does not exist. If it cannotbe unequivocally proven, you must believe it. Therefore, it is a "belief system.” Ironically, God ratherthan avoid this dilemma, encourages faith because He is interested in a relationship with us -- not a religion!

What is it that makes two scientist’s look at the same information and one becomes an atheist while theother becomes a Creationist? Is it the issue of having to be accountable to a living God?

The fact is:

“According to a study released last year, 40% of [all]American scientists believe in a personal God – notmerely an ineffable power and presence in the world, but a deity to whom they can pray”.6

But what about Evolution? Afew quick notes:

Evolutionists have led us to believethat you are a mental invalid ifyou believe that God created theworld.

13

According to eminent British astronomer Sir Fred Hoyle :

“… even if the whole universe consisted of organic soup from which life is made, thechance of producing the basic enzymes of life processes without intelligent directionwould be approximately one in 1 in 10......with 40,000 zeroes after it”. 7

" This mathematical impossibility is well known to geneticists, and yet nobody seems towant to blow the whistle decisively on the theory because of its grip on the educationalsystem! You either have to believe the concepts, or you will be branded a heretic." 8

According to Nobel prize winner molecular biologist Jacques Monod (in his book CHANCE ANDNECESSITY):

"...the essential characteristic of DNA is its PERFECT REPLICATION of itself.Evolution could only occur through a DNA FAILURE, and it is absurd to imagine evenevolving a single cell, much less the human brain, from a series of random andHARMFUL mistakes in the DNA."

Yet despite saying this; Monod does not believe in creation; he believes in evolution. Evolution is hisbelief system!

According to Sir Frederick Hoyle, the odds shown above (1 in 10 with 40,000 zeros) isthe equivalent of a tornado tearing through a junkyard and upon its exit a brand new747 jet would be left in its wake, made from the random spare parts.

14

An interesting exercise:

Ask yourself why all this chaos and hate in the world? Then try and reconcile this questions withEvolution;

If we have been evolving, why haven’t we evolved past the point of racism, hate and violence? If we are just exhibiting “survival of the fittest”, than it shouldn’t be illegal to exhibit these traits since theyare “COMPLETELY NATURAL”!

Besides evolution, we have at least three creation possibilities. Without an exhaustingstudy on each one they can be summed as follows:

D I V I N E D E S I G N ( T H E B I G B A N G )

Proponents of this position say God designed the earth using His own Laws of Thermal Dynamics andGeneral Relativity. God took millions of years to create the world but in six distinctive time periods. Godtook a long time not because He had to, but because He wanted to. Looking ahead to the time of man,God began by creating a world that would eventually decay because he knew man would need things likecoal and oil. God created bi-pedal (two legged, upright) species, which were “soulish” (like dogs and cats, exhibiting emotions) but had no eternal soul. The world shows tremendous evidence of complex design

Besidesevolution, wehave twocreationpossibilities.

15

(like the human eye and reproductive system for example). If the natural world shows us design, thentheir must be a DESIGNER! That Designer is God! The world, as we know it and as science has so farproven, matches this scenario quite well. Other than the very obvious disagreement of Who the designeris, the scientific position and the Biblical position are in TOTAL agreement!

In fact, the major proponent of this scenario; Hugh Ross (a world- renowned Astro-physicist and the headof the “Reasons to Believe” Foundation) estimates that science has, on average, over 28 new scientificdiscoveries per month that validate the Biblical perspective. If you are the scientific type, and want morecomplicated scientific answers (but written in everyday terms), please refer to his resources and web site atthe end of this lesson.

S I X L I T E R A L D A Y S ( C R E A T I O N S C I E N C E )

Proponents of this position say God did it in six 24-hour periods. They base this on the very sparseamount of information given in the Genesis account. They make some very good points. First, Godcertainly could have done is in six literal days. Adam was created with age (he was not formed as a babyand then forced to grow up unattended to adult life) and therefore God certainly could have createdmountain ranges, etc. with age. The explosion of the Mount St. Helens volcano has given scientists aview into the creation of the world. Here the geological columns are in such a disarray that time periodsthat should be millions of years old are laying in the place where 2,000 year old strata’s should be. Thisposition has one great flaw (which by no means disqualifies it). The major thrust of this positiondeveloped as a backlash to “higher criticism” and the teaching of evolution in the public school system. Itis no surprise then that it proposes a very strong anti-evolutionary stance. The major flaw is this: Science hasproven that the Ark could have carried no more than 30,000 pairs of land animals, but the fossil record indicates at least theexistence of a half a billion such species, of which more than five billion exist on earth today. This is two million more thanexisted on the earth immediately after the flood. The very anti-evolutionary position that Creation Science wants to negatemust actually be used to account for the rise of so many new species. Be aware that God could certainly have done itthis way if He chose (for more information on six literal days go to Creation Science Research Institutewww.icr.org).

{Italics above paraphrased from THE GENESIS ACCOUNT, Hugh Ross page 91-92)

Six Literal Days (Creation Science or Young Earth proponents)

Proponents of this position say God did it in six 24-hour periods. They base this on the word day in

16

the Genesis account. They make some very good points.

First, God certainly could have done is in six literal days. Adam was created with age (he was notformed as a baby and then forced to grow up unattended to adult life) and therefore God certainly couldhave created mountain ranges, etc. with age.

Probably the # 1 area for disagreement comes from understanding the word translated inEnglish as DAY and in Hebrew is:

Yowm which means

be hot; a day (as the warm hours from sunrise to sunset), or from one sunset to the next) - 12 hours or 24 hoursor figurative (a space of time) as in the "Day of the Lord"

Regarding the 24 hour term the text itself tells us that it is NOT a 24 hour day. In order to be 24 hour daysthe verses would have to say Evening to evening or morning to morning yet it doesn’t....All the creationverses say it the same way:

3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.4 God saw that the light was good, and heseparated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called“night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

6 And God said, “Let there be a vault between the watersto separate water from water.” 7 So Godmade the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it wasso. 8 God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—thesecond day

To take this literally the test then actually says God did it in 12 hours not 24! So we see that a day asnoted in the Genesis account cannot mean 12 hours or 24 hours so it must mean what the other Hebrewdefinition is: "a space of time".

• God says on the 7th day (same word) he rested. We are still in the day of rest when God no longer creates• Obviously we have been here longer than 24 hours so either the 7th day has a different time frame that the

first 6 time frames or the word day means – “ a space of time”.• Still God could certainly have done it in 6 literal days if he wanted to

2 Peter 3:8But do not forget this one thing, dear friends:

With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and athousand years are like a day.

The word DAY

Q. How long did it take God tocreate the earth?

17

As we can see God’s time table can be very different than ours. Reality is, WE JUSTDON”T KNOW. But, as we can see, the Bible gives us solid reasons to believe that thetime frame may be longer than six 24-hour periods! Contrary to secular teaching, thegeological evidence once again validates the Biblical position.

God could have created it all in six twenty-four hour days (and maybe he did), but why?Wouldn’t it be more fun to play with it. We are made in the image of God and theattributes that He has are instilled in us. As humans, it is the process of creation that providesthe enjoyment we derive from creating something from elemental ingredients. This holdstrue for all processes whether creating a computer program, creating a bridge, creating abeautiful landscape in our yards, writing a book, creating a great meal, etc..

Where you stand on any of the two possible Biblical creation positions really isn’t that critical. I urge youto do your own research and decide for yourself. Any attempt to guess what happened in the past is justthat -- a guess. The more accurate, however, that you can back up your position, the more credible youwill be when defending the reasons for your faith (assuming you have one). You can be assured of onething; it is definitely one of the two possible Creation models and not the evolutionary model.

I highly recommend this series “History of the World” at radicalgrace.com – but you will find greatanswers to the above in the first lesson here:

Q. Does the Bible predict automobiles? I think so.

Nahum 2:4 The chariots rage in the streets, They jostleone another in the broad roads; They seem like torches, They run like lightning.

{A perfect illustration of a Porsche 911 in a traffic jam.}

GEN.2 God places one boundary

Genesis 2:15-17The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take careof it. [16] And the Lord God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree inthe garden; [17] but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, forwhen you eat of it you will surely die."

Romans 6:16Don't you know that when you offer yourselves tosomeone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to theone whom you obey--whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leadsto righteousness?

Contrary tosecularteaching, thegeologicalevidence onceagain validatesthe Biblicalposition.

Q. Why do you think God placedboth the tree of life and the tree ofknowledge in the Garden?

A. Your God is not who you say your God is...Your God is the One whom you obey!!

Without a choice, we do not have the opportunity to exercise our GOD GIVEN FREE WILL!

A. The act! It was willful rebellion against God. Satanused the same sin that got him thrown out of heaven. This is PRIDE! (Gen. 3:5 You can be like God…).

Why was Satan was kicked out of heaven?

Isaiah 14:12-13How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been castdown to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, "I willascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned onthe mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain.

Both ‘Morning Star’ and stars of God ‘ are a reference to angels. Why Satan was kicked out? PRIDE! (AlsoEz 28:12-19)

GEN. 3&4, THE FALL OF MAN

Genesis 3:1-7Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LordGod had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must noteat from any tree in the garden'?"The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in thegarden, but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in themiddle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' " "Youwill not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows thatwhen you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God,knowing good and evil." When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree

was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, shetook some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so theysewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

Genesis 3:8-12Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in thegarden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of thegarden. [9] But the Lord God called to the man, "Where are you?"[10] He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so Ihid."[11] And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that Icommanded you not to eat from?"[12] The man said, "The woman you put here with me--she gave me some fruit from thetree, and I ate it."

Just like a man! Blame someone else!

Q. Was the fruit of the tree thesource of the sin, or was it the actof eating the fruit?

In every other religious system in the world thatbelieves in a supreme being, man must come to God.

Reincarnation - continuously evolving toward godhoodEnlightenment – the process of transcending physical barriers until you achieve enlightenment or godhoodNew Age – we are all gods, just haven’t made the leap yet.Religious Christianity – we must continuously be good, keep some ritual or do something to achieve ouracceptance with God. Based on adherence to religious principles and traditions and not a relationshipwith God.

Conversely, in Christianity, God comes to man. Here in Genesis we see God, who is totallyaware that Adam and Eve have rebelled against him, comes looking for them! God isshowing us right from the beginning that He is in the RELATIONSHIP business, not theRELIGIOUS business! This is demonstrated over and over again in the Bible, finallyculminating in God physically coming to us (as Jesus) to redeem us from our enemy.

GEN 3:13 Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" Thewoman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."GEN 3:14 So the LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, "Cursedare you above all the livestock and all the wild animals! You will crawl on your belly andyou will eat dust all the days of your life.GEN 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between youroffspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."GEN 3:16 To the woman he said, "I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; withpain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will ruleover you."GEN 3:17 To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the treeabout which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,' "Cursed is the ground because ofyou; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.GEN 3:18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of thefield.GEN 3:19 By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to theground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return."GEN 3:20 Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all theliving.GEN 3:21 The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothedthem.GEN 3:22 And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowinggood and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree oflife and eat, and live forever."GEN 3:23 So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the groundfrom which he had been taken.GEN 3:24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Edencherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

This Scripture points out the firstinstance of something that isVERY IMPORTANT TOSEE.

In Christianity,

God comes toman.

… For the serpent? "Cursed are you above all thelivestock and all the wild animals! You will crawl onyour belly and you will eat dust all the days of yourlife.”

From US NEW & WORLD REPORT, Feb. 1997 “SnakesDidn’t Always Slither

” [Archaeologists have found]…”a 97 million year old fossilsnake with small developed hind legs…[this] establishesonce and for all that snakes used to be legged”.

… For Adam: "Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days ofyour life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field.”… For Eve: “I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children.Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”

…“Dust you are and dust you will return.” Researchers at NASA’s Ames Research Center haveconcluded, “Every single element found in the human body exists in the soil.”

… For all mankind: Sin enters and now destruction will be the norm.

Romans 5:12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in

this way death came to all men, because all sinned…

According to these scriptures theseare the results of Adam and Eve'sChoice:

21

Romans 6:23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

… For the earth? Earth was cursed.

… For the rulership of the earth? Satan is now the ruler or the “Prince of this world” as Jesus will callhim.

Do you remember when Satan tempted Jesus in thewilderness?

Luke 4:5-6The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of

the world. [6] And he said to him, "I will give you all their authority and splendor, for ithas been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to.

John 12:31Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven

out.

1 John 5:19We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of

the evil one.

2 Cor 4:4…the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe to keep themfrom seeing the light of the glorious gospel of the Messiah, who is the image of God.

A. Adam and Eve by obeying Satan. They were the ruling authority but they willingobeyed Satan, thereby transferring that authority to him. Jesus Himself called Satan “thePrince of this world” (a title of authority).

JOHN 12:31 Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this worldwill be driven out.

JOHN 14:30 I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world iscoming. He has no hold on me,

Through one sin, death, sin and destruction entered the world.

And the price for this is big time!

The new ruler of the earth?

Q. Who handedthis authorityover to him?

22

A. Because we live in a world ruled by Satan whohates us because we have something he can neverhave--entrance back into God's Kingdom. We need to

quit blaming God for our mishaps and start blaming Satan. God can interrupt this world anytime withHis supernatural power; He has done so in the past and will continue to do so. But, by and large, Godallows Satan rulership of this world for now. After the Messiah? Well, we’ll see!

The question really is: Why do GOOD things happen to BAD people?

Q. What did God do to cover Adam and Eve in Gen. 3:21?

A. He covered them with skins. An innocent animal immediately paid the ultimate price for their sin. Theprice of sin = Death!

After Adam and Eve sinned, God says to Satan thefollowing:

GEN 3:15 "And I will put enmity between you (Satan) and the woman (Eve), andbetween your offspring (Satan’s) and hers (Eve); HE (the Messiah) will crush your headand you will strike his heel."

This is the first reference to a Messiah in the Bible – the One who will crush Satan’s head.Satan will strike His heel (crucify Him). From this point forward, mankind will be lookingfor a Messiah - one who will redeem (the word means to purchase …like buying a slave outof the market) us from Satan's world! God MUST protect this DNA all the way toJesus’s birth.

One thing that is important to understand is that we are a witness to the angels. The angelsin heaven made a choice; some followed Satan and some followed God. Apparently, those who chose to follow God were appalled that God threw Satan out of heaven.

God wanted to prove to the angels that He was indeed merciful yet at the same time just, so God createdman who would have the “free will” and the same choice to worship Him. Man would not be a superbeing like the angels but he would be “higher than the animals.” In this way, God would prove to His angels, whom He also loves, that He is merciful and just. (Although we sin against God, we can have arelationship with God). God himself, by paying the awful price for us, demonstrates to us and His angels, how all encompassing His love is.

Q. Why do bad things happen togood people? This is one of thegreatest questions of all time.

Satan is now the new ruler ofearth, but...God has a plan!

This is the firstreference to aMessiah in theBible

We are awitness to theangels.

23

I Peter 1:12 Those who preached the gospel to you told you those things with the help ofthe Holy Spirit who was sent from heaven -- Things into which angels desire to look.

I Cor. 4: 9 For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of theprocession, like men condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle tothe whole universe, to angels as well as to men.

Rom 5:8-10 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were stillsinners, Christ died for us.Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved fromGod's wrath through him!For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of hisSon, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

This is so they cannot eat from the Tree of Life and live FOREVER in a state ofseparation from God!!!

As Adam leaves he says to Eve:

“ Well, now you’ve done it. You have finally eaten us out of house and home!" [by the way this is a joke]

GEN. 5 and 10: GENEALOGIES

If you made a New Year resolution to read through the entire Bible in one year, this is probably the placewhere you would probably quit. This is where we get all those begets.

1) They pinpoint for the Jew their exact heritage. This is very important later when Jesusarrives on planet earth.2) They give us the "genesis" of each people group, which is important when we get toprophecy.3) They show us that, yes, God truly does know us by name and we are that important toHim.

Adam and Eveare tossed outof The Garden… WHY?

THEGENEALOGIESAREIMPORTANTFOR SEVERALREASONS:

24

Each given name in the Old Testament has a meaning. For instance; the title “Christ” literally means THEANOINTED ONE.

The following genealogy is given in Genesis 5:

Name MeansAdam = ManSeth = AppointedEnosh = MortalKenan = SorrowMahalalel = The Blessed GodJared = Shall come downEnoch =TeachingMethuselah = His death shall bringLamech = DespairingNoah = Rest, comfort

Now put the meanings of each name together in a sentence just as they appear in the text and it reads:

Man (is) Appointed Mortal Sorrow; (but) The Blessed God Shall Come Down Teaching;(that) His Death Shall Bring (the) Despairing Rest, Comfort.9

It is interesting to note that God sent Adam out tobegin the process of cultivating the land (Gen. 3:23).Archeologists have discovered that the origin ofagriculture took place in the hills of southeast Turkey.

This would be the exact location we would expect to find Adam setting up shop after leaving the Gardenof Eden (The exact location of the Garden of Eden is given in the Bible in Gen. 2:13-14). In addition, thescientists who discovered the original wheat that was cultivated there have stated:

"We believe that the idea is so good--the idea of cultivating wild plants–that we think itmight be one tribe of people." Said Manfred Heun: " I cannot prove it, but it is apossibility that one tribe or one family had the idea". 10

Hidden in the genealogies is thefirst declaration of the Gospel.

God then removes Adam and Evefrom the Garden of Eden (Genesis3:23-24).

GEN. 6, 7, 8, 9: THE FLOOD

Titanic discoverer Robert Ballard (funded byNationalGeographic) has found evidence supporting the Flood(AAS November 21,1999) also at :

www.ngnews.com/news1999/11/111899/ballardflood_7432.asp_

Update 9/16/00 AAS

“BLACK SEA DISCOVERIES MAY SUPPORT STORY OF GREAT FLOOD”“ US ARCHAELOGISTS HAVE FOUND THE REMAINS OF A 7500 YEAR OLD BUILDING...311 FEET [UNDERNEATH THE BLACK SEA]”

“ Experts say the discovery will force scholars to rewrite the history of ancient civilization” USA Today9/16/2000

In Genesis 6;9 God calls Noah a “righteous man, blameless among the people of his time and he walkedwith God"… yet ...

Noah has the distinction of being the first recorded person to get drunk in the Bible. (Gen. 9:21) Noah, living far from the ocean, built a boat with perfect seaworthy dimensions (450’ x 75’ x 45’

or 30x 5x 3), having never studied ocean travel (not that there was much then!) (Gen. 7:15-16) Every major group of people record the flood as part of the history of its own nation.

There are over 80,000 flood accounts! In the Middle East region no less than 35 accounts arerecorded, including Egypt and Mesopotamia; of these, only two fail to coincide exactly with theBible!

Noah's Ark has been shown to be resting in the “Mountains of Ararat” (which means NewBeginning), resting at 7,546 feet. The dimensions coincide exactly to the dimensions that Godgave Noah. According to Salih Baryraktutan, head of Geology at Turkey’s Ataturk University:

“It is a man-made structure and for sure, it is Noah’s Ark. Radar imagery at about 82 feetdown … from the stern is so clear that you can count the floorboards between the walls. The Turkish Government has officially pronounced the site as the actual site of Noah’sArk.”12

26

Be aware, however, that as you would expect, this find brings up tremendous controversy for those whodo not want any type of Noah’s Ark found (the above might even be a hoax). Due to it's remote location, the closing of the area by Turkey and the tremendous bandit activity in the area, it has proven to be a verydifficult site to excavate. I believe this is God's divine protection. (In Search of Noah’s Ark – PBS specialalso the report can be viewed at www.yfiles.com).

One of the reasons that the people did not believe Noah was that it had never rained! The earth waswatered by a terrarium effect, as well as underground river sources.

Genesis 2:4-6This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the Lord God made the earth and the heavens-- and no shrub of the field had yetappeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the Lord God hadnot sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground, but streams came upfrom the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground--

One evidence of this terrarium affect is a rainbow. A rainbow (God's promise that he would never destroythe earth again by water -- Gen. 9:11) can only be formed by water DROPLETS in the sky not waterVAPOR. The rainbow would not have been seen prior to the flood because it was water vapor then. Ofcourse, at the time of the writing of Genesis it would be impossible to know that a rainbow can only beformed with water droplets...unless you were ...God! This in itself does not prove the rainbow was a newlycreated phenomena, but it does show that when it was written down, it was scientifically correct in an erawhen knowing the science behind making a rainbow was not yet known.

In a terrarium atmosphere most of the harmful UV light is filtered out. UV contributes greatly toaging and helps explain why men lived so long PRE-FLOOD.

In a terrarium atmosphere, plants would grow at a very rapid pace, and would be abundanteverywhere (including what is now desert, which the fossil record shows it to be a previously lushland, e.g., the Petrified Forest in Arizona).

In order to get oil, you must have a sudden covering of dense, living material (hydrocarbons).Obviously, the flood would have done this. So we could literally be using pre-flood jungle to fuelour cars today.

With the plant life (as they knew it) gone, no dinosaur could have lived after the flood except forthe two species of dinosaurs Noah had in the Ark — a crocodile and an alligator.

A special note: a recurring theme (starting in Gen 3:15) begins here and is seen throughout theBiblical narrative. This theme is this: Man will be saved from the wrath of God by...God! Watchfor it as we go through the lessons.

This helps explain several otherkey points:

27

(It is rare to hear a sermon from this text).

GEN 6:3-9Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; hisdays will be a hundred and twenty years." The Nephilim were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had childrenby them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. The LORD saw how great man'swickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of hisheart was only evil all the time. The LORD was grieved that he had made man on theearth, and his heart was filled with pain. So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind, whomI have created, from the face of the earth--men and animals, and creatures that movealong the ground, and birds of the air--for I am grieved that I have made them.". ButNoah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. This is the account of Noah. Noah was arighteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God.

(Note: For a very clear translation read this Genesis account in The Living Bible)

NEPHILAH; also called Raphaites and Zamzummites in the Bible were GIANTS. The word in Hebrewliterally means "fallen ones," a direct reference to the angels who fell from God’s grace. Besides the Bible, other ancient civilizations document these people. The ancient Babylonians called them Annunaki, whichmeans “Those who from heaven to earth came.”12 This does not mean fallen in the sense of sinning againstGod, but fallen as if they had fallen from the sky. In other words, the ancient peoples recognized thesecreatures as other worldly or, as we would say, Extra-terrestrials. Additionally, there are numerous referencesare on Egyptian walls of beings from another world sleeping with humans and creating a new race ofpeople and the roots of Roman mythology (half god/half human) can be traced to this group of people.Josephus, the famous Jewish historian, also documents this in his (secular) book "THE JEWISH WARS."

Many ancient civilization from Indians-Hindus state that their gods were created from “Star Children” andthe result is always GIANTS in mythology.

(source: History channel Ancient Aliens 2010)

Deut. 2:20That too was considered a land of the Raphaites, who used to live there; but the

Ammonites called them Zamzummites.

Note: Where are the descendents of the Ammonites today? In Ammon, Jordan.

Although the word “giants” in English certainly means a physically strong, tall human, in the originalHebrew it is:

Strongs concordance #5303. nephiyl, nef-eel'; or nephil, nef-eel'; from H5307; prop., afeller, i.e. a bully or tyrant:--giant.

This brings us to one of the mostcontroversial parts of the BIBLE- But full of answers!

28

The combination of these words seems to suggest a physically imposing group of people. They couldenforce their will on anyone. Other references to them (Nephilim) are: Num. 13:33, Deu. 2:20, Deu. 3:11,Joshua 13:12 .

According to most Biblical scholars; the Sons of Godare fallen angels or demons. They had sexual relationswith humans and created offspring (sons) that wereinherently evil—so much so, that God decided tobasically start all over with the one untainted bloodlineleft (Noah).

JOB 38:4-7 "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if youunderstand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched ameasuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone--whilethe morning stars sang together and all the Sons of God shouted for joy?

When God “laid the foundation of the earth," the only created beings then were angels. This is PRE-ADAM; the "Sons of God" (note: ‘the morning stars’ also refers to angelic beings) could not be humans;they had to be angels. The Bible tells us that one third of them would be tossed out of heaven withLucifer (Rev 12:4). Note: Job is considered the oldest book in the Bible.

God saves one group of people - Noah's family because they have NO Demon bloodline, Noah is arighteous man (and is a picture of God saving his people out of Satan's clutches). Additionally, RenownedScientist Hugh Ross says that during this time the murder rate was so high that 19 out of 20 people werekilled - enough to curb what should have been a population explosion of 6 billion people living on theplanet (the 6 billion never arrived because their parents were killed prior to having them).

This means God did us a huge favor!

Picture courtesy of the Neanderthal Museum, Germany

A. Neanderthal man (in my opinion)!

FOR ME: This is the best explanation for the fossils of ”pre-moderns,” etc. This also explains why Goddoes not appear to be too merciful in the first Book in the Bible.

Close Encounters of the ThirdKind:

How do we know the Sons of Godare demons or fallen angels? Godgives us the answer:

Q. What would a half-demon andhalf-human look like?

29

Today in Israel there is a new finding of a modern man buried with pre-moderns in the same caves.13.

Both Discover Magazine and National Geographic have documented that the Neanderthals lived side byside with modern man; therefore, they say, we could hardly have evolved from them.

The following is excerpted from “Living with Neanderthals” by James Shreeve, Discover MagazineSeptember 1995 (bold, my emphasis).

“The Neanderthals are the best known and least understood of all humanancestors. To most people, the name instantly brings to mind the image of ahulking brute, dragging his mate around by her coif. Thick boned, barrel –chested, a healthy Neanderthal male could lift an average NFL linebacker overhis head and throw him through the goalposts. Combining enormous strengthwith manifest intelligence, the Neanderthals appear to have been outfitted toface any obstacle the environment could put in their path. Neanderthals andmodern humans have been sharing Spanish soil for 10,000 years. How can

two kinds of human beings exist side by side for that long without sharing their cultures?Without sharing their genes? Clearly, if modern humans were inhabiting the Levant40,000 years before the Neanderthal, they could hardly have evolved from them. If thedates are indeed correct, it is hard to see what else one can do with the venerated belief inour Neanderthal ancestry but chuck it once and for all. The cohabitation [Neanderthals]with moderns no longer needs explanation. Neanderthals and moderns managed tocoexist through long millennia….Of course, if the Neanderthals were a biologicallyseparate species, something must have happened to cause their extinction. After all, weare still here, and they are not.

“In Israel, on the southern edge of the Neanderthal range, a wooded rise of limestoneissues abruptly out of the Mediterranean below Haifa, ascending in an undulation ofHills. This is the Mount Carmel of the Song of Solomon, where Elijah brought down thefalse priests of Baal, and Deborah laid rout to the Caananites.”14 This is where the authortraveled to collect the data for the Discover Magazine report.

It is also the EXACT geographical area where the Bible says was the home of “… Og King of Bashan, which was of the remnant of the giants, that dwelt at Ashtaroth and at Edrei.” KJV Joshua 12:4

30

God has given us a relatively short timetable, depending on which creation position you use, that man hasbeen on the earth. Evolutionists say man needed a long time (millions of years) to “evolve” from “missinglinks.” The Bible states that modern man and some other type of physically imposing being lived togetheron the same soil, and modern archaeology once again proves it with a physical finding.

In addition, now we have conclusive evidence from the DNA thatthe Neanderthals were not our ancestors (remember, Noah’s bloodwas untainted or had NO demon DNA). (USA Today 7/12/97“Neanderthal DNA Disproves Link.

The National Geographic article even dares to state that the deposit of some of theNeanderthal fossils could have been the result of a catastrophic flood.15 Yet, scientistsdesperately try to discount a universal flood because that means facing the Biblicalaccount head on.

31

Biblical:

Man and another “physically imposing” group of people called Nephilim lived togetheron this earth until God took them out with a worldwide flood.* Since the bloodline wasdemonic (the result of interbreeding between demons and humans), God saved the onefamily that was untainted with this demonic bloodline, thereby effectively starting thehuman race over again. This means the DNA of the Biblical Adam and Eve would havecontinued but the DNA of the Nephilim would have been different, and thus, would havedied out.

Scientific:

Man and another “physically imposing” group of people called Neanderthals livedtogether on this earth until they inexplicably disappeared off the face of the earth all atonce. The DNA of Neanderthals and man is totally different, conclusively proving thatwe did not evolve from them. This means that the DNA of the scientific “Adam” and“Eve” would continue, but the DNA of the Nephilim would have been different andwould have died out.

*It is important to note that God was still merciful to this group of people and gave them120 years to repent through the preaching of Noah.

As we can see, the physical evidence actually supports the Biblical position better, since no missing linkneeds to be fabricated to perpetuate the position and their total extinction is answered also.

As stated, evolution requires a long time frame toaccomplish the evolutionary changes. Not oneinstance of evolution (changing from one species to

another, although, obviously change within a species occurs often) has ever been physically observed, sothe assumption has been that it took a long time to develop.

“Mathematically {sic. however, this will not hold up} if you take the four couples that survived the flood, and for the sake of conservatism use only one couple as our starting point. The average life-spanthroughout the history of the world averages 43 years. This means from the time of the flood a little over4300 years has gone by or 100 generations. Simply multiply 2.5 children (at 2 you will have -0- growth) x100 generations and our world population would be about 5 billion people. Today, in actuality we areapproaching 6 billion people. Using a million years of human evolution (as scientists suggest) we wouldproduce over 23,000 generations and our population today would be 102091.

This is greater than all the atoms in our total universe!16

Here are the two positions:

Regarding the Long time table ofEvolution and Man

32

God chained them up (found in Jude 1:6), but notbefore Satan made another attempt at corrupting thehuman bloodline. A few giants were born (see GEN.

6:4 “The Nephilim were on the earth in those days--and also afterward …”) and were allowed to live out theirnatural lives. We see them in the Biblical stories of David and Goliath (I Sam. 17) and also when the spieswho scouted out Canaan reported back that there were giants in the land (Numbers 13:27-33).

GEN 3:15 "And I will put enmity between you[Satan] and the woman [Eve], and between youroffspring [Satan’s] and hers; HE will crush yourhead and you will strike his heel."

What happened to the Demonsafter the flood?

Why would Satan want to corruptthe human bloodline?

33

When Satan orchestrated the fall of man in the Gardenof Eden he fully expected God to judge man asreprobate as had happened to the angels. Their own"angelic testing" (Rev. 12:4) had resulted in them beingeither declared elect or reprobate. There was noredemptive plan for them as there was for man.

When God declared that man would be redeemed by a“He” (the very first reference to the Messiah in the Bible) in Genesis 3:15, it completely blindsided Satan.Satan was not totally aware then what the "bruised heel" or "crushed head" meant, but he did understandwhat the "offspring" meant and immediately set out to destroy or corrupt the messianic line.

He did this first in the first born Cain's murder of Abel … one dead and the other the murderer! (Gen.4:8).

Then He did it in interrelations with the fallen "sons of god" and “daughters of men.” This would corruptthe bloodline of man and render any and all of the future offspring demonic and incapable of redeemingmankind.

This also helps explain why Satan’s first attempts at organized religion; Baal and Molech (pagan deities inthe Bible), demanded a sacrifice of the first born sons. Many other of Satan’s false religions at that timedemanded sacrifices of the first born son. Once it became apparent that God had chosen a special groupof people to be His people (Jews), Satan turned his attention to them. During the time of Moses, Pharaohkilled all Jewish baby boys two years and under (Exodus 2:15). Even at Jesus birth when the Wise Mencame to worship Jesus, Herod killed all the Jewish baby boys two years and under (Matthew 2:16).

Note, also, that Scripture says that Satan would "bruise His heel" which is not a "fatal" wound (yet Jesusdid die; He just did not die permanently), but "HE" (The Messiah) will "crush your head.” No wonderSatan is working so hard to thwart God's plan.

We are made in the image of God, whom Satan hates, and we have something he can never have: entranceback into the Kingdom of Heaven. Therefore he will constantly try to thwart us.

Satan truly does know how merciful God is and he also knows that God can and hasreversed a pronouncement of judgment. The original pronouncement of destruction onSodom and Gomorrah was modified after Abram’s request (Gen. 18), and also in the storyof Jonah and the Ninevites (Book of Jonah). Since judgment has been pronounced on

Satan and he has no redemptive plan, his only hope is to force God to change His mind and reverse thejudgment against him. The only way to do this is to have millions/billions of humans, whom God loves, follow Satan. Satan’s hope then is that when God sees the total mass of those who refused to follow God,He will reverse His judgment on these humans. This would also require that God, who is absolutely fairand merciful, reverse the declaration of judgment against Satan.

The Bible records three distinct times that man will tryto become like God.

In the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:5)At the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:4)And again in the end times. (Note: Virtually all New Age philosophies and religious symbols in voguetoday can be directly traced back to Babylon-start of the Mother Goddess/son religion. – see below.)

Why is there a struggle (enmity)which appears to be between Goodand Evil?

My personalopinion is this:

GEN 11, THE TOWER OFBABEL

34

A freebie lesson:

The religion started at the Tower of Babel (Mother Goddess/son religion.) is the exactcounterfeit of the Trinity (Satan, Mother/Goddess and Son) and continues on today.

The Mother/Goddess was first worshipped in Babylon when Semiramis, the wife ofNimrod (whom God called a "mighty hunter" in Genesis 10:9, not because he was adistinguished marksman but because he was a hunter of souls), declared herself the"Queen of Heaven." She and her son (also named Nimrod) were declared to be the firstof the MAN-GODS, or reincarnated souls. She demanded human blood sacrifices anddeclared that her son was the man-god. Babylon was the center of trade in those days andthe Mother/Goddess religion was exported to all the countries where Babylon traded. InBabylon she was worshipped as Ishtar (to whom we owe the name EASTER, which wasa pagan holiday devoted to the goddess) and Astarte; as Asherah and Aheteroth in Israeland Canaan; as Diana and Artemeus in Ephesus and Asia Minor; as Cybele in Rome; asIsis in Egypt; as GAIA in Greece; and Kali in India. Her Phoenician name was Europa--which may be a clue to Europe’s “end times” role as it pertains to Biblical prophecy. InIsrael, Nimrod was venerated as Baal; in Egypt he was called Soirees and his son Horus.Every time the Israelites went chasing after other gods it was to this religion (the goldencalf can be traced to Isis in Egypt).

It is interesting that the very first collective human act after the flood is recorded as manbuilding his tower to the heavens, apparently looking for their “star gods,” or those who“from heaven to earth came” (the Nephilim that had disappeared after the flood). All ofthe root words for the names of the goddess above are derived from the word STAR(even Job 38:4-7 refers to angels as Morning Stars and Satan is called Star of theMorning in Isaiah 14:12).

It is no accident that we flippantly refer to earth as "Mother Earth." As part of the New Age movement, thisworship of the goddess is growing extremely fast today. In addition, a movement is underway in many so-called “Christian” denominations to rename the God of the Bible to a she (Sophia) and worship her.

End of freebie lesson.

Genesis 9:1Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to

them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fillthe earth”.

The survivors however quickly got other plans:

Genesis 11:1-9Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. As men moved

eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there. They said to each other, "Come, let's make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They used brick instead of stone, and tar formortar. Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches tothe heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the faceof the whole earth." But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower that the menwere building. The Lord said, "If as one people speaking the same language they havebegun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us

God's command to the survivors ofthe flood was:

35

go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other." So the Lordscattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. That iswhy it was called Babel--because there the Lord confused the language of the wholeworld. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

In other words, they deliberately planned to disobey God and stay right where they were, so God created aguarantee (by changing their language) that they would carry out His plan. They had planned to establish aone-world/one-religion/one-government system; as we shall see, this is once again in the works Note: it isinteresting that the Biblical quote above shows it was a democratic agreement. God then forced them todo what he asked them to do in the first place - FILL THE EARTH! The term "babbling idiot" comesfrom this event.

In Mesopotamia, ancient towers have been unearthed called Ziggurats or "hill of heaven." A clay tabletunearthed at one says the following:

"The erection of this tower highly offended all the gods. In a night they threw downwhat man had built and impeded their progress. They were scattered abroad and theirspeech was strange.” ARCHAEOLOGY TODAY Sept. 1989

Note the reference to clay tablet vs. a stone tablet and the very pronounced reference to the use of clay inGenesis 11, above.

Although not expressly stated in the Bible, I believethat this is where the different races began. Why?Science this time will give us the answer.

So where do the different races, skin color, etc. come from?

36

“The Tale Genes Tell” – Scientist’s now confirm that “99.99% of ALL HUMANS” share the same identical genetic makeup.“Outward appearances tell us almost nothing about our roots … the shapes of our noses, the color of our skins change with theclimate.”17 In other words, when God scattered them throughout the world, the natural physical changes that happen due tonatural climatic forces took place.

Incredibly, God said that the Levites or Jewish priests were separated from the Jewish population at large.Until now we did not know just how separated. Scientist’s have discovered that out of all Jewish people, the DNA of the Cohanin or Jewish priestly bloodline is distinctively different than all other JEWS! 18 “TheDNA of Cohanin – the Jewish priesthood whose duties are passed strictly from father to son - is genetically distinct from therest of the Jewish population.” 19

Numbers 2:33however, were not counted along with the other Israelites, as the Lord commanded TheLevites, Moses.

Numbers 3:12"I have taken the Levites from among the Israelites in place of the first male offspring

of every Israelite woman. The Levites are mine,

Numbers 8:14In this way you are to set the Levites apart from the other Israelites, and the Levites

will be mine.

37

Abram, later called Abraham (with Sara his wife, Lothis nephew and Terah his father) is called from Ur ofthe Chaldeas (probably Kuwait). They went to Haran(north of Canaan) about 2,000 BC. Here they stayedmany years until Terah dies and they then moved on tothe land of Canaan or modern day Israel.

Here God makes a covenant with Abram which consists of..

LSD – Three things in the covenant (Genesis 17:4-8, 22:17-18)

L LandS Spiritual blessingsD Descendants

1) L This land is yours forever.2) S Through Abraham the entire world will be blessed.

How? The Messiah will come from his line!3) D I will make you a great nation.

Abraham has two sons; Isaac (Gen. 21:3) and Ishmael (Gen. 16:15) Ishmael descendants today are theArab Nations.

Isaac has two sons, Jacob and Esau (sold birthright) (Gen. 25:21-26)

Jacob has 12 sons and one daughter (named Dinah). (Gen. 29:31, 30:24, 35:16-18)

Jacob’s youngest son was Benjamin (Paul the Apostle came from this tribe), the second youngestis Joseph (of the coat of many colors fame).

Joseph works for a guy by the name of Potifer, whosewife tries to seduce him. He refuses, but ends up in jailaccused of rape. He interprets the dream of the butlerand the baker and then for Pharaoh (seven years of

plenty then seven years of famine). Joseph is put in charge of the plan to tide them over during the famineand ends up being the equivalent of Prime Minister of Egypt. Meanwhile, the 11 brothers come to Egypt, meet Joe and they are reconciled. Joe says to his brothers "you meant this for evil, but God meant it forgood."20

Q. What was the good? Egyptians were a people who believed thattheir race was superior (PRIDE), and they would not intermarry with theIsraelites. So from this small beginning, God had created a people FORHIMSELF that to this day have never been assimilated into any country orculture!

There is a tomb unearthed in Yemen (found as a result of the Persian GulfWar) in which a very rich woman died with all her riches (very rare since most ancient graves have beenrobbed). In the tomb was found an inscription blaming Joseph for her death since she could not buy grainfrom him with her gold.21

Gen. 12 –Starts the history of theJewish nation

Joseph is taken to Egypt. (Gen.37:28-36, 39-50)

38

One thing to remember is that most of the stories God had written down in the Bible are not just torecord history, but to point us to God and/or a future event that will “mirror” this ancient event. Theseare either stories of a “prophetic nature” or they are called a “type of Christ.” The word "example" inEnglish is translated from "tupos" in the Greek, which means form, pattern or figure. We derive ourEnglish word “type” from this word. "Types" are Old Testament patterns that depict or illustrate a clearlytaught New Testament doctrine.

1 Cor.. 10:11These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us,

on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come.

The Old Testament is full of these types of Christ, as we shall see.

His real life mirrored a truth about the Messiah that God wanted us to see. It is veiledin the OT but revealed fully in Jesus Christ in the NT.

Joseph shows us Jesus because just like Jesus he was:

Loved dearly by his father. Hated by his own family. Sold into slavery (Jesus put into a earth suit), lived in a land not his own (earth). Falsely accused and punished. Given a Gentile bride (Christians (predominantly Gentiles) are called the “Bride of Christ”). Becomes ruler over the foreign land. He was given the name Zaphenath-paneah, which in Egyptian means “the god speaks and lives”

or "The Savior." Satan meant this (Jesus crucifixion) for evil, but God meant it for good (redeeming his people). When the Jewish people were freed from Pharaoh, the Hebrews marched three days to Joseph’s

tomb and took Joseph’s body back to Israel; therefore, like Christ, after three days Joseph's tombwas also empty!

God shows in a real life event that He will save His people HIS WAY--which is that the small tribe ofJacob will be saved only through one way -- through Jacob's beloved son Joseph. In order for the tribe tobe saved the people had to put their faith and the future of their whole tribe into the hands of THESAVIOR, as Joseph was called in Egypt. God is showing us a picture of the ultimate plan of salvationthrough Jesus Christ in the real life story of Joseph.

Joseph's family numbered about 70 people at the start, approximately 1800 BC. (Gen. 46:27)

Joseph dies and the Egyptian people turn on the children of Abraham and force them to build the Sphinx, the great buildings, and probably the great pyramids. For exactly 430 years they are in bondage. (Exodus12:40-42 also Gen. 15:13). Joseph's tomb is believed to be found - research it at::www.christiananswers.net/qabr/abra027.html

(This is the end of Genesis}

According to Newsweek Magazine for Oct. 21, 1996 in the article, “But Did It Happen,” Author SharonBegley writes:

“The more we know about customs and conditions in the early second millennium, the

The life ofJoseph iscalled a "type”(or picture) ofChrist.

39

more we find the narratives of Genesis reflect them.”

Moses, a Jew raised in the Pharaoh’s court, was a knownmurderer. (Exodus 2:1-12)

God supernaturally brings the nation of Israel out of Egypt by a series of plagues. These plaguesculminated in the death of every first born son in Egypt of anyone who would not cover his doorpost withthe blood of an innocent lamb. These ten plagues are not only recorded in the Bible, but also in thehieroglyphic writings on the walls in Egypt.22 (Ex. 7:14, 12:30)

By this time they are now estimated to be about 2.5 million "children of Abraham" who go up to cross theRed Sea (600,000 men, alone according to Ex. 12:37-39). It is also estimated that only about 20-30% ofthese people were actually descendents of Joseph - the rest were Egyptians who were convinced that theGod of Abraham was the real thing! They are now a real nation. God supernaturally parts the Red Sea.

Napoleon records that he actually almost crossed the Red Sea on dry land during a windstorm. But whenthe wind subsided he almost drowned in the quick wash of the water back. Scientists have actuallyduplicated the parting of the Red Sea by using a scale model and blowing the pro-rated equivalent of a 40mile per hour wind across it. The rush of the water back was calculated to be 15 feet per second.23

ABOUT 1400 BC GODRAISES UP MOSES

40

They travel first to Mount Sinai where God gives toMoses The Mosaic Covenant, which consisted of twoparts (Exodus 19):

1) THE LAW: (10 commandments plus 360 other commandments), whichformed the "constitution" for the nation of Israel.

2) THE LEVITICAL SYSTEM: The sacrifices, the priesthood and thetabernacle.

(This is the book of Leviticus}

In the book of Numbers, God has a census taken so that the tribes will all know who they are and how totravel to the Promised Land.

They then moved north to Kadesh Barnea and finally into the land of Canaan. It is herethat they sent in the 12 spies who report that there are giants in the land.* Two spies say,"So what, let's get ’em.” The two spies are Joshua and Caleb. The people refused to obeyand so God had them wander in the desert for 40 years.

* These giants were the few left over from the short time after the flood before God locked up thedemons. See Gen. 6: 4 “and also afterwards” and Joshua 12:4.

To let the generation that refused to obey God die out (all but Moses, Joshua and Caleb).

The Lesson: Those who choose to NOT follow GOD will not be allowed access to His eternalplan. (PS. Nothing has changed!)

Forty years later, before they enter the Promised Land, Moses gives the people the second givingof the law on the plains of Moab (this is called the book of Deuteronomy).

After the flood, Satan continued this plan of action. These offspring were allowed to live and that is howwe get the stories of Goliath, and the Giants in Canaan. The Name GOLIATH has been found onpottery shards in Israel.

Goliath was a Giant

The Mosaic Covenant

Into the Landof Canaan-ThePromised Land!

What was the purpose?

41

God chained these demons up so they could not do this again.

Jude 1:6 (NIV) And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority ( went from the spiritworld to the physical realm) but abandoned their own home--these he has kept in darkness, boundwith everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.

Note: It is the children who take possession of the Promised Land; they were too youngto understand what their parent’s action was, and God did NOT hold them responsible. Itis doubtful that all the giants died out in the forty years that the Jewish people wanderedin the desert, so these children faced the same dilemma that their parents did. This timehowever, they chose to follow God. The same is true today. God does not hold children, who cannot understand Him YET, responsible to chose Him! However, once old enough(and this varies by child), all are held accountable to make the correct decision. (Formore in depth information regarding children (do they go to heaven if they are aborted, killed, die naturally or are in a coma and die), visit our web site at www.bibletrek.com.)

There is an interesting law in the book of Deuteronomy that God gave the people of Israel.

Deut. 21:22-23If a man guilty of a capital offense is put to death and his body is hung on a tree, [23]

you must not leave his body on the tree overnight. Be sure to bury him that same day, because anyone who is hung on a tree is under God's curse. You must not desecrate theland the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance.

The Jews used stoning as their method of execution. Crucifixion (hanging on atree) was not to be invented for some 3,000 years so the Jews must have thoughtthis a very strange law. Jesus was to later come under this very same law--and Heobeyed it to the letter.

Galatians 3:13Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us,for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."

(Next book is the book of Joshua.)

42

Moses dies. (God personally buried Moses [Deut.34:5,6]) and General Joshua takes his people into theland across the Jordan River (which also miraculously

opens up) and they come to Jericho. They are instructed to march around Jericho until it fell down.(Joshua 3:14-17, 5:13, 6:21)

According to archaeology, Jericho's walls all fell out, not in, as wouldbe true if an army pushed them down. (See Ancient Prophecies TV

show aired April 1994; also New York Times Service 2/25/90.“Study Backs Biblical Story Of Jericho” also found at www.christian.edu)).

Right:: New York Times 2/25/90

Jericho is the entrance to the Jews’ Promised Land. The Israelites are instructed to donothing except announce that God is coming by blowing the trumpets. It is God’s action thatsaved them and gave them victory. What can we say that God is showing us today by thisillustration?

We too cannot enter our Promised Land (heaven) relying on our strength, good works ordoing battle for the Lord. The entrance to heaven is open to those who “wait on theLord” and trust in His ability to defeat our enemy, Satan. We are to do only one thing:announce that He is coming. It is God’s action (Jesus dying on the cross) that saves us and gives us victory.

They then conquered most of the cities in Canaan...but not all!! God had said, "conquer them all,” butonce again they thought they knew best and so they left a few. One of these tribes they did not conquer

Finally-Into the Promised Land

One interestingthing we cansee in thisevent is thatGod once againgives us a reallife illustrationof his plan ofsalvation.

43

was the Philistines (who today are Palestinians) who would give them fits (and still do). God promisedthem that:

Numbers 33:55" 'But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land, those you allow to remain will

become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will give you trouble in theland where you will live.

Do they?

Next came the period of the JUDGES. This period is characterized by “Every man did what was right in hisown eyes." Judges 21:25. Sound like today?

When they obey the law, God sends a judge to defeat their enemies. When they disobeyed the law, God sends a enemy to defeat them.

Example: Samson, as well as Gideon, was a Judge*.

*Found in the book of Judges

A bright spot during the Judges period is the Book of Ruth, which lets us see a picture of a godly familyduring this time. It is also called a "picture of Christ." Ruth represents the church and Boaz representsJesus Christ.

THE LAST JUDGE AND THE FIRST PROPHET IS SAMUEL24

Samuel anointed Saul as the first king over Israel (takes place in 1 Samuel).

NEXT CAME DAVID (who wrote at least 72 of thePsalms).

The Jews had a period of prosperity because David was called by God, "a man after God's own heart." (Davidwas also an adulterer (Bathsheba) and a murderer (Bathsheba's husband)).

NEXT KING WAS SOLOMON {who wrote the Song of Solomon, Ecclesiastes and Proverbs} Hestarted well, but ended badly.27. Solomon was the most tired man in the Bible -- he had 1,000 wives (700wives of Royal birth - the rest were concubines).25

The Southern Kingdom had 19 kings, half good / half bad,

One good one was Hezekiah . They were lead into Babylonian captivity in 600 BC. They were in captivity for exactly 70 years

and they come back to Canaan. Six prophets prophesy to the south: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Micah, Nehum, Habbakuk, Zephaniah. Jeremiah, lamenting the fall of Jerusalem writes Lamentations.

"A man after God's Own heart."

Then the Kingdom Splits

44

Obadiah is a book prophesying to Edom (note: Herod, of Jesus day, was an Edomite).

During captivity four books are written: Ezekiel, Daniel, Ezra, Esther.

After Solomon's death:

JEROBOAM TAKES TEN TRIBES AND GOES NORTH and became known as ISRAEL.

REHOBOAM (Solomon's son) TOOK TWO TRIBES (BENJAMIN AND JUDAH) AND WENTSOUTH and became known as JUDAH . All about 900 BC

The Northern Kingdom had 19 Kings and ALL were bad!

They were taken to Assyria in captivity in 722 BC.

God told them they could worship only at His appointed place; instead, they decided to rebel andphysically move away from the worship area. Because of this God did not bless them and thecountry went downhill.

In the Books 1 and 2 Kings it says, "I say unto you JUDAH, OR ISRAEL…” These are directedspecifically at each different nation.

Three prophets then prophesy to the Northern Kingdom recorded in the books of Hosea, Jonah, Amos.

Finally, they come back to Israel. They try to take the nation back to "living by the law"under God. Their leaders are....

Zerubbabel (no book is written by him), Ezra, Nehemiah

In addition three prophets prophesy when they come back (Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi).

WHAT ABOUT JOB? It was probably written at the end of Genesis; it is considered the oldest book inthe Bible.

There is a 400-year period of SILENCEbefore Jesus Christ and the NewTestament.

God is silent, but very busy setting the stage for the Messiah’s entrance to Planet Earth through people likeAlexander the Great, (the Greeks – for their language) and the Romans (for their highway system). Thesetwo developments will enable the rapid growth of the Church after Jesus leaves Planet Earth.

There are two books in the Old Testament where God is not even mentioned: Song of Solomon andEsther. In contrast, one of the shortest books in the Bible; Obadiah mentions God seven times!

The Silent era

45

Psalm 118:8"It is better to take refuge in the Lord, than to trust in man."

This is also the CENTRAL theme of the entire Bible!

A personal note: I find it extremely interesting that Jesus said in Luke 19:40; "I tell you," he replied, "ifthey [the people praising Jesus as their King] keep quiet, the stones will cry out." That is exactly what hashappened. During the last part of the eighteenth century and the early part of the nineteenth century, awave of “higher criticism” prevailed. Essentially, we stopped praising Jesus as our Lord and archaeologygrew very popular. Archaeology initially was perceived as the way to debunk the Bible. New scientificdiscoveries would once and for all prove the inaccuracies in the Bible. Today, truly the “stones have criedout” as the study of archaeology continues to give further credence to the Bible.
