Basic Understanding of the Philadelphian Church Period:• It is really nothing more than the King James Bible getting into the hands of the Bible believers, and them taking it to the ends of the world.•Whereas the domination of the RCC during the Thyatira and Sardis Church periods threw the world into utter darkness, with the entrance of the King James Bible into the world, it threw the world into blazing light!

(Rev 3:7) And to the angel of the church in

Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath

the key of David, he that openeth, and no man

shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

The word “Philadelphia” is made up of two Greek words meaning “Brotherly Love”In the church age of today, true brotherly love is when you drop doctrine and beliefs, to embrace all of the others that name the name of ChristIn contrast God so choose to use the name of Philadelphia to best describe a church period in which a group of believers would not bend this doctrine to bring a false unity. Instead their brotherly love was seen by taking the King James Bible to the ends of the earth.

(Joh 17:19-21) And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither

pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe

on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also

may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou

hast sent me.

(1Sa 13:14) But now thy kingdom shall not

continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded

him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD

commanded thee.

1. Love for the Word• You can only find 2 times where David said he “loved the Lord) (Ps. 18:1; 116:1)

• You can find in Psalms 119 which is the heart of the Bible and longest chapter in the Bible, 11 times where David says “I love thy word”. 174 out of 176 versus directly mention the Word of God

• Compare this church period that had the “key of David” with a love for God’s word with the 1st Church period. (Rev 2:4)

PHILADELPHIa

Page 21: Biblical Church History

•After years of darkness with the absence of the Word, these men and women had a great love for the Bible

2. The Belief in the Word •This Church period was a time in which there was no debate on what was the Word of God. There were no one say things like “we now have better manuscripts” or “this was not in the original Greek

PHILADELPHIa

Page 22: Biblical Church History

3. The Action of the Word

•This Church didn’t just sit around bragging at the fact they had a King James Bible. They were dumb enough to believe that god gave them that to take it to the world.

•This is why this age is know as the “golden age of missions”

III. The Commendation(Rev. 3: 8-13)

PHILADELPHIa

Page 24: Biblical Church History

(Rev 3:8-13) I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. Because thou hast kept the word of my

patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try

them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Him that overcometh will I make a

pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and

the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the

churches.

Page 25: Biblical Church History

This is the only church that Christ has nothing Bad to say about them.

Compare that to the church age we are living in, where he has nothing good to say about it.
