2012 Leadership Discussion ResultsI, Leo Hall would like to thank everyone for attending class this past Sunday to discuss the

direction of our class and selection of leaders for Calendar Year 2012. I took brief minutes of the discussion during class and the following is a summary of those discussions on November 6, 2011.

Class was opened in prayer.

Visitors were welcomed, several announce were made and an offering was taken.

Trisha announced that any votes cast, be by those members who had already completed an class membership.

We have elected to have a male and female in the position of leadership for our class and these leaders are defined as President and Vice President. Pastor Brad has requested that we have both a male and female leadership and the titles of leaders were selected to be in similarity of the other church classes. The President and Vice-President will not automatically succeed at the end of the term in office. And the leadership can be changed at anytime by requesting the individual to step down or a call to re-elect. This passed by a show of hands 13-3.

Nominations were then opened for president:

Randy Hamilton nominated Ed Williams Trisha Pride nominated Leo Hall Dave Menkoff nominated Judith Adams Gene Lamb nominated Trisha Pride.

Nominations were then opened for anyone that wished to volunteer to be President:

No one made a request to serve.

Nominations for were then opened for Vice-President:

Gene Lamb nominated Trisha Pride Liz Chripczuk nominated Judith Adams

Nominations were then opened for anyone that wished to volunteer to be Vice-President:

No one made a request to serve.

Blank ballots were passed out. Ballots were requested that the name for President be listed first and Vice-President second. The votes were then collected and counted by members Ron Fox, Bette Brown and a visitor Dub Johnson. Dub Johnson announced that by a 1 vote margin, Ed Williams has been elected to serve as President and Trisha Pride to serve as Vice-President.

Trisha Pride then announced that she was surrendering the position to Judith Adams as to her plans to attend school beginning in January. Trisha and Judith will work together to transition Judith.

Ed Williams lead some discussion that perhaps board meetings be quiet often to get things up to speed for the beginning of the calendar year.

Class was then closed in prayer and adjourned to the Great Hall for dinner and a show.

The Best Portion. The best portion of a good man’s life is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love.~William Wordsworth~

You may never know the lasting impact of a sim-ple gesture of love and kindness. Not only can it change someone’s entire perspective or direction (including your own), but such acts may become magnified many times over. There is a ripple ef-fect, much like the stirring up of still waters. When given, they tend to multiply, and are passed on to others. Watch for these small opportunities, as they ARE the substance of life. It’s not the great feats of accomplishment that most remember, but the needed smile, the approving look, the encouraging word, or the helping hand in time of trouble.

A friend loves at all times, and is born, as is a brother, for adversity.~Proverbs 17:17 (Amp)~

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”~Jesus /John 13:34,35 (NASB)~

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.~1 John 4:7,8~

To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giv-ing a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.~1 Peter 3:8,9 (NASB)~

Where’s the Preacher Today?

There was this preacher who was an avid golfer. Every chance he could get, he could be found on the golf course swinging away. It was an obsession. One Sunday was a picture perfect day for golfing. The sun was out, no clouds in the sky, and the temperature was just right.

The preacher was in a quandary as to what to do, and shortly, the urge to play golf overcame him. He called an assistant to tell him that he was sick and could not do church, packed the car up, and drove three hours to a golf course where no one would recognize him. Happily, he began to play the course.

An angel up above was watching the preacher and was quite perturbed. He went to God and said, “Look at the preacher. He should be punished for what he is doing.”

God nodded in agreement. The preacher teed up on the first hole. He swung at the ball, and it sailed effortlessly through the air and landed right in the cup three hundred and fifty yards away. A picture perfect hole-in-one. He was amazed and excited.

The angel was a little shocked. He turned to God and said, “Begging Your pardon, but I thought you were going to punish him?”

God smiled. “Think about it -- who can he tell?”

The minister was passing a group of young teens sitting on the Church lawn and stopped to ask what they were doing.

“Nothing much, Pastor,” replied one boy. “We were just seeing who can tell the biggest lie about their sex life.”

“Boys, boys, boys!” he scolded. “I’m shocked. When I was your age, I never even thought about sex.”

In unison they all replied, “You win!”
