• When ordered in complete sets for a given crusher, we balance the entire set at the factory. When received at your plant, they can go right into the crusher at any location on the rotor assembly. There’s no longer any need to weigh and mark each hammer — and no more trial and error calculations. In a crusher of average size, this saves about eight man-hours at every hammer change.
• The extended wear life of these hammers reduces the frequency of hammer changes, along with the labor and downtime required for each change.

Then, we add special alloy hardfacing on both working faces. This added hardfacing gives it the ability to far outlast any other hammer. Your plant enjoys three-way savings: lower downtime, less maintenance and lower hammer costs.
The Big Buster Hammer, available in 11, 16½, 20, and 50 lb. sizes, is forged from our special PennAlloy 2000. During the forging process, we align the grain of the billet to improve strength and increase fatigue life.
Every PennAlloy 2000 hammer carries a lot number that enables us to track its entire production history, from the original heat through certified chemistry and hardness.
