see how simple set up is via Bluetooth, but you’ll also see echo curves from the device on your phone.

CT124 - Process Safety Standards Part I - What are they and what do they mean to me? Rockwell | Room 4

This session is an introduction into Process Safety standards in North America and how we got where we are today and

how they impact End Users. There are legal requirements, there are codes that need to be met and then there are standards

that are designed help with compliance, although they are not always viewed that way.

CT126 - Industrial Networks Cybersecurity Threats Rockwell | Room 7

As industrial organizations move towards greater visibility within their operations, the need to establish a seamless flow

of information by connecting control systems to the enterprise has become a requirement of modern industrial networks.

Effectively developing a fully connected enterprise requires a comprehensive approach to industrial security that extends

beyond the control system to include policies and procedures that address people, process and technology-related risks.

A complex, interconnected system doesn’t come without challenges. It’s critical to understand the potential risks and start

building security into your industrial automation control systems.

CT116 - Introducing the Pepperl+Fuchs Bullet -”Best in its Class WirelessHART Adapter” Pepprerl&Fuchs | Room 3

We will discuss the struggles and issues you face in remaining compliant. We will witness a demonstration of on-site

calibration capabilities using the calibration rig.

CT125 - Process Safety Standards Part II – How do we meet the standards?Rockwell | Room 4

This session is a more focused look at ISA84.00.01 (IEC61511) and what it takes to comply with this standard. Complying with

the standard is not as bad as it first seems, because it requires a different approach than most End Users are used to. The

standard is written largely by end users, but some are so used to doing everything themselves ‘as they go’, they cannot

possibly comply with it. If End Users focus on defining what they actually need, then use competent and qualified vendors,

they can comply and dramatically improve Safety.

CT127 - Can You Speak IT? Ethernet for Process Control 101Rockwell | Room 7

The prevalence of Ethernet devices in manufacturing requires process control professionals to educate themselves on

the fundamentals of information technology. Attendees will learn the basics of Ethernet and Rockwell Automation-Cisco

recommended best practices for deploying Ethernet for process control. Both process control and information technology

professionals are encouraged to attend. Bring your IT buddy!

CT120 - Advanced Power Control Techniques to reduce the Burden on Your Process and Your WalletEurotherm | Room 3

A growing number of processes in the industrial sector rely heavily on electrical heating applications for process heat

control. Often, these processes require manufacturers to control multiple loads with similar thermal characteristics, all

driving/demanding power at the same time. This power demand overlap often drives the power grid load demand to quite

high levels resulting in stress on the power network. In many areas, this peak power demand is also a critical factor in the

cost that the end users have to pay for their electrical energy. Our lecture will explain in detail how load management, load

shedding, and advanced power factor correction techniques can lessen the burden of stress and wear/tear on your process

while offering substantial cost savings.”

Wednesday & Thursday 11:00-12:00 Live Demo - CT106 - Top 10 Ways to Kill Your Pump Dead!Viking Pump | Room 8

See a working pump module and watch as we subject it to all the things you can do wrong in a pump system. We will

demonstrate first hand some of the common problems in a pump system that can kill your pump. Here are the situations

and topics we will cover in this live demo. 1-Skip the strainer - We will show pumps that have been destroyed by foreign

objects that entered the suction of the pump. 2- Starve the Pump- We will demonstrate common suction problems and how

it affects pump performance. 3- Over-speed the pump - demonstrate the fluid dynamics when you run the pump too fast.

4- Over-pressure the pump - see how common discharge restrictions over pressurize and reduce the life of the pump. 5-Run

to Failure-see how you can monitor your pump to indicate upset conditions and shut the pump down before catastrophic

failures. 6-Deadhead the Pump - illustrate common discharge problems that can deadhead a pump. We will show wear

patterns that indicate deadhead and over-pressure. 7- Install the Pump poorly-severe misalignment, excessive flange

loading, and pipe stress can severely damage your pump. 8-Change the service without consulting your pump expert -

examples include pumping thicker, more corrosive, less lubricating or abrasive fluids without consideration for the current

pump construction. 9-Run relief valve in full bypass - relief valves are there to protect your pump and are not to be used as

full bypass valves. 10- Skip preventive maintenance - regreasing bearings, changing gear box oil, and replacing worn parts

will all extend the life and performance of your pump. Overall you will learn how pump failures are more often a symptom

of a pump system problem and not a fault of the pump.

CT115 - Use all the Tools in the Tool BoxK-Patents | Room 1

Utilizing K-Patents unique and accurate in-line Brix measurement for concentration provides greater flexibility for control

than other more traditional instrumentation measurements. Refractive index provides no calibration, drift free, proven

measurement.

CT111 - Overfill Protection- Protect Lives, the Environment and Avoid Costly Fines via Functional SafetyEndress+Hauser | Room 2

This session will answer the following questions: How does a level instrument fit into an SIS? What is SIL? What is proof

testing and why is it required? What are the options for proof testing? What is in situ proof testing? What role is the

government playing in process safety?
