• The Tourist Bureau is located at: Busselton Foreshore, beach end of Queen St. Phone: 9752 5800.
• The Town Jetty is two kilometres long, and was once reputed to be the longest timber jetty in Australia. The Underwater Observatory at the end of the Jetty is now open.
• Busselton’s population exceeds 31,000.
• Wonnerup House is a colonial-style house built in 1859. It has been restored by the National Trust and is located 10km east of the township.
• The old Courthouse has also been restored and is now home to an Arts Centre comprising a gallery, artists’ workshops and a coffee shop.
• Southern Right Whales, Humpback Whales and dolphins are some of the region’s best attractions. Whales can be observed frolicking near the coastline in their annual migration from June until September, with Humpbacks lingering till December. Whale viewing cruises can be arranged (enquire at office), or try spotting whales and dolphins from the lookouts over
Geographe Bay and at Cape Naturaliste, or further south at Cape Leeuwin. At Koombana Beach in Bunbury, 52 kms north, you will find the Dolphin Discovery Centre where you can go swimming with the dolphins (Phone: 9791 3088).
• Visit nearby Dunsborough, a picturesque coastal town, on the way to beautiful beaches such as Meelup, Eagle Bay and Bunker Bay.
• The rare red-tailed tropicbird has a nesting colony at the scenic Sugarloaf Rock.
