The number of unique, natural
Alpine routes on offer is therefore
huge: whether it is for easy
afternoon tours, challenging day

choice here. Routes can be dis-

click you can get information
about the route profile and how
the tour proceeds- perfect for mak-

most accurate information about
individual MTB tours in our printed

rider's paradise needs more than
perfect tours to get the cranks turn-

Who isn‘t familiar with this situation? You've just tackled an adventure-filled mountain bike tour, perhapscovering thousands of metres altitude, and then you still have to getback? And the cable cars are closed? In such cases Paznaun doesn'tjust make transport possible for cyclists, it makes it easy too.

Tour 9
CHeidelberger lodge
Heidelberger lodge is the quintes-sential destination for riders inIschgl - hundreds of Transalp riderscycle up here from Ischgl everydayin the summer months, to reachEngadin via the Fimbapass.
Those who trust their own musclepower can take the steep asphalt
ascent along Fimbabach, everyoneelse can take the cable car to theintermediate station.
That really does make sense sincefrom here the ascent becomesconsiderably flatter; prior to that itis exhaustingly steep.
The asphalt road up to Bodenalpeis always easy to ride on – the firststop-off station - continuing ongravel to Heidelberger lodge(which is on Swiss soil), always withthe fantastic sight of the mightyFluchthorn in front of you.
After a snack the route takes us backon gravel and asphalt to Ischgl.

Then there is a great experience - on the perfectlypositioned Greitspitz trail you can glide on the borderridge between Austria and Switzerland, with dreamypanoramas uphill to the Palinkopf.
On a roughly gravelly, yet wide route you proceedalong the ski piste around the Höllspitze, and after abrief trail rise, then head uphill on gravel to Höllbodenand finally via Prennerhang to Ischgl. All in all - lots ofgravel, huge panoramas and only light trails.

This tour promises fine trails and alot of flow – but requires a verygood technique! This time, we cho-se the easy way up and take thegondola until we reach the Idjoch at2,700 metres.
The short push section to theGreitspitz doesn't lessen the funone bit because there's enough funahead when hammering downstraight away in a challenging, not
too long trail, which requires verygood technique. Just before themountain station for the Samnauncable car you reach a gravel pathwhich leads to Alp Trida. Take thechair lift here to Flimjoch then rideyour bike via Velillscharte into theVelill trail, which was specially builtfor bikers.
'Soul' and 'Flow' are concepts whichbest describe it. It rolls fantastically, you waltz through the short steepbanking - a genuine roller coasterfeeling. From the Upper Velillalpewe take the sharp variant of the trailalong Velillbach, which requiresperfect bike control.
There is the gravel descent too ofcourse – seeTour No. 19.

The Swiss know how to do thingsand have built a great but not toochallenging trail, which is plenty offun even after several rides.
Beginners can make their first att-empts here and those who mastertheir bikes can speed through theslightly elevated curves.
This short trail can also be perfectlycombined with the newly built AlpTrida Enduro Trail (see tour no. 22),which leads from the Flimjochridge down to the AlpTrida.

Galtür - experience highAlpine mountain sport!
Whatever it is, Galtür and Ischgl offer leisure riders such as tour and Enduropros an appealing, diverse Alpine terrain, with a wide selection of wonder-ful routes, which can in part be combined to make Big Mountain or multi-day tours.
Galtür is a little bit quieter. A little bit more mysterious. Maybe it is dueto its special altitude location.Maybe it's the exceptional mountain backdrop. Maybe it's also a con-fession of wanting to stay small.

A tour for singletrailexperts, which is attractive
in terms of landscape, yetdifficult.
BikeArena 83
The Muttenjoch tour via Muttenjoch,a 2,620m Alpine crossing, can rightlybe described as one of the nicest bigmountain single trail tours in theregion - a full-blown day tour high upin the Silvretta mountainscape!
With Alpengasthof Zeinisjoch, Heilbronner andFriedrichshafener lodge, there are three lovely Alpinelodges for you to stop off and enjoy some refreshmentsen route.
Cruising past Alpinarium Galtür, the route is initiallyleisurely, then becomes steeper on the valley path toZeinisjoch. Continue on asphalt first, then on a gravelpath past the Verbella Alpe up to the Heilbronner lodge.
From the Heilbronner lodge a demanding trail uphill, then a downhill leads you into the picturesque, peacefulOchsental, which has a superb view into this stony realm. There are then around 300 metres altitude to push thebike up, from the Ochsensenke to Muttenjoch - you'vethen made the crossing! From Muttenjoch a great singletrail then proceeds almost up to Friedrichshafener lodge.
From there, continue as outlined inTour No. 28.

The way back leads to theMedrigalm, going past Schaller andfinally to See.
