BCAM sponsors the UMI-RSME-SCM-SEMA-SIMAI Congress From June 30 to July 4, 2014 at the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, Leioa (at the end of the 2014 Council of the EMS-European Mathematical Society in San Sebastián, June 27-29) The Opening (June 30) and the Closing (July 4) sessions will be at the UPV/EHU Bizkaia Aretoa, Abandoibarra 3, Bilbao Luis VEGA, is the main organiser and one of the RSME delegates of the EMS Council, one of the pleanary speakers and had co-organised also a special session of the Congress The First Joint Congress between UMI-Unione Matematica Italiana, RSME-Real Sociedad Matemática Española, SCM-Societat Catalana de Matemàtiques, SEMA-Sociedad Española de Matemática Aplicada and SIMAI-Società Italiana per la Matematica Applicata e Industriale, is open to international participation, especially those working in Italy and Spain, will be sponsored by the EMS-European Mathematical Society, which counts among its members on about 60 mathematical societies in Europe, among other organizations. The scientific program consist of twelve plenary lectures, a three hours course and thirty scientific in two groups of special sessions. Three of them are co-organised by BCAM members, as follows: First group: June 30 and July 1, 16:00 to 18:30h: Dispersive Equations, organised by Luis VEGA, BCAM-UPV/EHU, Basque Country, Spain, and Nicola VISCIGLIA, Università degli Studi di Pisa, Italy. El Primer Congreso Conjunto entre la UMI-Unione Matematica Italiana, RSME-Real Sociedad Matemática Española, SCM-Societat Catalana de Matemàtiques, SEMA-Sociedad Española de Matemática Aplicada y SIMAI-Società Italiana per la Matematica Applicata e Industriale, abierto a la participación internacional especialmente a los que trabajan en Italia o España, estará esponsorizado por la EMS-European Mathematical Society, que cuenta entre sus miembros con unas 60 sociedades matemáticas en Europa, entre otras organizaciones.

ScopeThe main topic of the session is the analysis of dispersive equations, a research field that has been heavily developed in the last 30 years. Several equations of the mathematical-physics enter in this family. Just to quote some of the most relevant and famous ones we recall: Nonlinear Schroedinger, Nonlinear Klein-Gordon, Water-Waves, Korteweg-de Vries, Benjamin-Ono, Dirac, etc.
