Why we fundraiseBen Lovejoy, 10, and his dad Paul cycled 50 miles across the Devonshire countryside to raise £1,698. Ben chose the challenge to support his grandmother who has Crohn’s and his uncle who has Colitis.

Thomas Hough cycled 960 miles from Lands End to John O’Groats raising £1,196. “I have Crohn’s and wanted to make the most of my better health,” Thomas told us. “When my Crohn’s does flare up again it will be great to say that at least I cycled the length of Great Britain whilst I was healthy enough to do so!”

Fantastic Five Stars in the making Olivia Powdrell and her friends Amelia Vasey, Scarlett Ward, Hannah Arksey and Amber Poskitt organised a variety concert for their friends and families raising a glittering £625. “Choosing this charity was easy as my brother was diagnosed with Crohn’s when he was 11 years old and I think you do a

great job,” Olivia said.

Charlie’s challenge – read all about it!Charlie Sturtivant set himself the challenge of reading his height in books as his uncle has Colitis. The task took six months but it was worth it as Charlie raised an amazing £565.

It’ll be alright on the nightFirst-time fundraiser Charlotte Messenger, who has Crohn’s, raised an incredible £9,528 at her prom-themed ball which was attended by Crohn’s and Colitis UK Champion Ali Jawad.

Louise Wheeldon, her dad Bob and friends held a charity night. Bob’s band was the headlining act and rocked the night away to raise £725. Louise was diagnosed with Colitis last year and told us: “It has been a struggle, not just for me, for the whole family. I am now in remission but fatigue is still an issue.”

Robert Hewitson and friends held a charity night with live music and a raffle as his best friend, David McMillan, who also performed with his band, has Colitis. £1,000 was raised and they received generous donations from Craig Reid who provided the venue, food and prizes for the raffle.

In Cambridgeshire we offer a variety of interventions to adoptive families who are experiencing difficulty in their family relationships. Sometimes adoptive families become stuck and see no way forward. This is where TPP comes in.

The years of my life at Park View were honestly, some of the best years of my life!

In my spare time, I do a lot of voluntary work as a legal advocate/adviser in charity organisations, prisons and crime prevention authorities. A word of advice for current students: PLEASE do not take for granted these 5 years as they will prove imperative in laying a solid foundation for the educational and professional life ahead.

DESIGN FOR WEB

I travel to many countries including India, where I work with communities who help me bring design concepts to life. In return I can connect these artisans with other markets which provide continued support and keep their ancient crafts and skills alive.

The end results are beautifully crafted products that are made ethically, with integrity and a loving healing energy. My aim is that you will treasure these products forever. They are timeless, stylish pieces that transcend high street fashion trends to appeal to stylish intelligent women who want to shop ethically and consciously.

Tiny Tickers exists to improve the early detection and care of babies with major heart conditions.

Every year in the UK, about 3,000 babies are born with major congenital heart defects (CHD) requiring surgery or a procedure in their first year of life. Only a third of these heart babies are detected before birth, on average across the UK, and many babies are sent home without a diagnosis or appropriate care.

Tiny Tickers is working to improve early detection - so that more “heart babies” can receive the care they need, avoid unnecessary illness and have the chance of a better start in life.

Early detection includes improving screening for CHD before birth (prenatal screening), increasing tests for undected CHD just

after a baby is born (e.g. Pulse Oximetry) and creating awareness of the signs of undetected heart conditions at home and in the

community (Think HEART).
