July 2 0 5 CALLED CONGREGATION MEETING SUNDAY, JULY 12TH AT 10:00AM We have been approached by a local commercial realtor representing a “national client” interested in purchasing some of our property. To be specific, they are interested in about 2 acres which is on the corner. Obviously, this means we would need to rebuild our facilities. The Church Council needs to know how to proceed with this. Therefore, we are calling a CONGREGATIONAL MEETING on SUNDAY, JULY 12 at 10:00 to determine if this is something we need to pursue further. We feel that it would be unwise to put forth the time and effort to negotiate with the parties involved if we are not at all interested, and would rather not waste our efforts. But if there is sufficient interest, then we can form a committee to continue the process. Please understand - this is not to approve an offer, and this is not a request to sell our property. We are simply asking your permission to investigate this possibility to see where things go. You will be kept informed throughout the entire process, and certainly your approval would be needed before anything is transacted.

fellowship.

RAH! Reconciliation Against Hunger is partof our ministry to our community. Please placethe requested items in the Mother Hubbard’sCupboard (MHC) collection bin in Perry Hall.Items collected will be taken to MHC. OurRAH items for JULY are juice boxes,cereal, quart-size powdered milk andchildren’s snacks (such as fruit rollups,granola bars and bottles of Gatorade). Duringthe summer, we focus on school-age childrenwho will not be receiving breakfast and lunchwhile school is in recess.
However the cupboard is very lowand we would appreciate anynonperishable items. MHC can always usenapkins, plates and food for their homelessfamilies that does not require cooking.
MHC requests canned goods be in smallsizes, as the large family size are difficult fortheir clients to carry and too large for thehomeless. Thank you!!
In addition to monetary or fooddonations, (MHC) is in need of hygieneproducts, disposable dinnerware (for thehomeless) and baby care products. A list ofsuggested items is available in a pouch on theMHC donation box in Perry Hall. Please take alist with you when you go shopping. Itemsmay be left in the MHC donation boxes inPerry Hall.

Thank you to our LCOR family for helping NancySchein get her service project of knitted hats for thechildren of Rachel Freeman School of Engineering offthe ground. So far we have over 100 hats made, so wereached our June goal!
We have lots of knitting to do before winter - about 400 hats. Thatmeans 100 a month. So, calling all knitters! Patterns, some needles andyarn are still available. If you can help out, please contact A.J. Sherrill at(910) 470-3881 or [email protected] or Nancy Schein at 686-7728 [email protected].

LCOR Member and licensed instructor ShirleyMelito leads a Zumba class on Wednesdays at 6:15pm inthe Ministry Center. Please wear light weight clothesand comfortable tennis shoes. You will also need tobring a water bottle and towel. There is no charge forthe class, but donations will be accepted.
