QUESTION:I have lived in Cyprus for 2 years, now working for 6 months as self employed. I have registered for Social Insurance & Tax. Is there any other registration I need to do legally? (i.e. Residency)

ANSWER:If you are an EU citizen then you have to follow a special procedure to obtain residency. This is normally straight forward. if you are not a EU citizen there is a di�erent procedure which must be followed.

Paying social security does not guarantee residency will be granted.

OCTOBER’S QUESTION:We own an apartment in Paralimni,but no deeds yet asDeveloper has not applied for his �nal Certi�cate fromMunicipality. Do we have to pay IPT on our apartment?

What tax forms do we need if any as we both arepensioners ,paid into UK bank? If forms needed wheredo we go to get them?

Please clarify what the Defence government tax isrequested every year by the bank of Cyprus
