Unanimously considered by audiences and orchestras as an inspiring, thrilling and powerful conductor, in the last three years Roberto BeltránZavala has successfully built a solid reputation as a top level artist with outstanding concerts in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Malta, Romania, Poland and México. Highlights of the last two seasons included acclaimed performances of music cornerstones such as Mahler’s First Symphony and “Das lied von der Erde”, Stravinsky's Symphony in three movements Bartok’s Miraculous Mandarin Suite, as well as performances of capital works of the 20th century such as Varese’s Octandre and Offrandes; Boulez’s Eclat and Messiaen’s “Et expecto resurectionem mortuorum”, with unanimous acclaim. Roberto’s past collaborations include a designation as Assistant Conductor of the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands and the post of principal conductor of The Rotterdam Youth Symphony Orchestra for the season 2007/2008 as well as working with numerous prestigious music ensembles such as The Doelen Ensemble, Holland Symfonia, Rotterdam Philharmonic Strings, Orchestre d’Auvergne, Silesian Philharmonic, the Romanian Royal Camerata, the National Radio Orchestra of Romania, Mexico's National Symphony Orchestra and Mexico City's Philharmonic Orchestra. Currently in his sixth year tenure as Artistic director of the re: orchestra in The Netherlands, BeltránZavala has shaped the ensemble’s Innovative profile through musical excellence, pioneering programming and outstanding artistic management, leading the orchestra to become one of Holland’s top young orchestras. As well, since 2007 Roberto has served as principal conductor and artistic advisor of the ISO Festival in Malta and has recently been designated principal conductor of the New Music Ensemble “AKOM* of the Rotterdam Conservatory.
