Extra-minimum scope of survey in Poland

• vegetation assessment include not only vascular plant species, but bryophytesand lichens also;

• the cover-abundance for species was estimate after Braun-Blanquet scale;

• the every plots have minimum one photo with measured azimuth to thecenter of plot (data are available in national database);

• the units (plant association) of actual and potential natural vegetation of plotswere recognized. There was used national syntaxonomy scheme of vegetationafter Matuszkiewicz (2001) (data are available in national database);

• the percentage cover of every layer of forest communities were evaluated(extra-stand layer - also shrub, herb and moss layer - data are available in nationaldatabase);

• the sub layer of tree stand were recognized and the tree species wereassigned to this layer. The percent cover of tree stand sub layer was alsoevaluated (data are available in national database);

Conclusions• The obtained results substantially completed

existing data about biodiversity at national and international level.

• The harmonized results may essentially influence on the forest policy e.g. value for Certification of forests.

• Especially added values are important for evaluation of criteria for nature protection -NATURE 2000 sites, e.g. range of indicators for favorable status of nature habitats.

Conclusions• Taking specificity and uniqueness of the given

data as well as their high utility into consideration, realization of the BioSoil Forest Biodiversity project should be continued.
