Relative sensitivity: 94.4%Relative specificity: 97.3%The analytical sensitivity of the assay is 1x 105 bacteria / swab.

Kit content• BIOSYNEX® Strep A test devices• Extraction solution 1 (2M NaNO2)• Extraction solution 2 (0.027M citric acid)• Positive control (non-viable Strep A ; 0.09% NaN3)• Negative control (non-viable Strep C ; 0.09% NaN3)

Streptococcus pyogenes are non-motile gram-positive cocci, which can colonize human organs and cause serious infections. Beta-haemolytic Group A Streptococci (Streptococcus pyogenes) are the main cause for infections of the upper respiratory tracts, especially angina. An early diagnosis and treatment of Group A Streptococcal angina reduces symptoms severity and further complications, such as rheumatic fever and glomerulonephritis.

2. Deposit 4 drops of extraction reagent 1 in the extraction tube

3. Add 4 drops of extraction reagent 2 and mix

4. Add the swab into the extraction tube and shake vigorously, incubate for 1 to 5 mn

5. Collect the volume with the dropper then add 3 drops in the well S of the cassette

6. Read the results after 5 mn, do not read after 10 mn

1. Collect the throat sample using the swab provided with the kit
