Our Multi-TierrM Microtiter Plate has a unique design that provides maximum diversity for manydifferent applications. This plate can have a fixed height or it can be multi-t iered for adjustableheights to support different sized vials. The plate can be built via spacers to hold capacities of0.5mL, 1.0 mL, 1.5mL and 2.0m1, depending on the height l imi tat ions of the inst rument . Theplate can hold various length 9mm diameter conical bottom and flat bottom glass and plastic vials.

Many of the assays require heating or cooling of the vials to simulate in vitro conditions or fortemPerature sensitive experiments. The heating or cooling is usually done using l iquids orgases. Our base plate has an open bottom so that the plate can be immersed in heating orcooling fluids allowing total f luid contact with the vials. This permits uniform transfer of heator cold to and from the vials, and the plate does not f loat in the water bath.

Our Multi-Tier Microtiter Plate has a standard 8 x 12 format with an alpha-numeric lD grid. Thecover for the plate locks the l iner in place, prevents vial pullout and provides a secondary sealingsystem. The secure fit of the vials in the base plate permits use with Shakers and Vortex Mixersduring sample preparation.

Alpha-numeric identif ication alongside each of the 96 wells, make microscopic sample location simple.Uniform wall thickness ensures good optical observation and a hanging well design allows an eventemperature to be achieved around each well. Cross contamination is minimized by each well havinga rim, and when lids are used orientation corners and condensation rings further guarantee security.A rim around the periphery of the plate also assists when the plate requires sealing fi lm. Deep lidsreduce the common problem of uneven evaporation from the wells. The black plate is designed foruse in fluorescence studies with minimal well to well cross talk. The white plate is designed for use inluminescence assays where the white pigment in addition to minimizing cross talk increases reflectivityfor greater sensitivity.
