Marine MysteriesSession 2: July 7- July 11The ocean is the last frontier! Get ready to get your feet wet as we take an exciting, hands-on look at the mysterious plants and animals who call this place home.

It’s Easy Being Green Session 3: July 14- July 18 Taking care of our planet is a big job, but if we all work together we can make a difference! Take part in protecting our wildlife and learn about other awesome kids doing the same thing.

History’s Mysteries Session 4: July 21- July 25 All living things leave evidence behind. This week we’ll use our detective skills to dig into the history of Long Island and discover the stories its people, places, and wildlife have to tell!

Kid Vs. Wild (this popular week is back-sign up fast!) Session 5: July 28- August 1 (CIT week)Become a survivor as you discover the importance of shelter, water, fire, and food and how to find them in the wild. Practice basic survival skills such as shelter building and fire making!

Weird and Wacky WildernessSession 6: August 4- August 8 Have you ever heard of a blob fish, aye-aye, or vampire deer? There’s a whole world of wacky wilderness out there! Spend this week discovering these weird and mysterious animals’ adaptations through games, presentations, and more!

Earth and SkySession 7: August 11- August 15 Learn about the soil beneath your feet and the stars in the sky above you as you spend the week exploring everything from earth science to astronomy!

Water Waders Session 8: August 18- August 22 (CIT week)Dive into an aquatic adventure this week exploring in the best way possible getting wet! Explore ponds, estuaries, streams, and meet marine ambassadors!

Chickadees (ages 4-6)

This group is for the curious and creative. Children will enjoy storytelling, crafts, games and exciting outdoor explorations which make this hands-on program stimulating and fun.

Blue Jays (ages 7-9 )

Blue Jays are encouraged to take longer looks, ask questions and make connections with their surroundings. Activities are designed with their increasing abilities in mind.

Eagles (ages 10-12)

On-site and off-site expeditions give this group the opportunity to make exciting observations and discoveries while developing a greater sense of environmental awareness.

Conservationists in Training (ages 13-17)

During sessions 5 and 8, budding conservationists can learn and apply environmental education methods and future career skills by assisting leaders and younger participants in this hands-on program. CITs still enjoy the fun of Summer Sanctuary Adventures but with added team building, conservation and leadership activities to help them prepare for their exciting futures! Eco-Expeditions and Kayak Explorations are open to children ages 13-17 for the corresponding fee.

Help us wrap-up each session with Family Campfire Fun Days! Fridays at 2:30pm

Eco-Expedition Overnight

Sessions 4&7 - Eagles & CITsIncludes a 2-day, 1-night campout under the stars at West Hills County Park! There will be team building, leadership, and survial skills at the Sanctuary culminating with an overnight for an exciting camp-out adventure. Campers will go on a hike to the highest point on Long Island, pitch tents, and make their own meals. Tents, food and cooking equipment will be provided. Campers will be given a packing list and must be able to carry in and carry out all of their personal items. So popular that we added an extra week!

Kayak Explorations

Sessions 3, 6, 9 - Eagles & CITsCampers will embark on new adventures every day. After learning paddling and safety techniques, we launch into Oyster Bay & beyond to learn about this unique habitat while contributing to conservation projects. Monday-Thursday will be spent on the water & Friday at the Sanctuary for traditional camp fun! Kayaks, paddles, & personal flotation devices will be provided. Please ensure camper has water, lunch and is dressed for the weather every day. Protective water footwear is a must! Only 6 spots available—Sign up now!

Participants must come to TRSAC every day with a reusable water bottle, snack, lunch and dressed

for fun in any weather!

Children are placed in groups of no more than 15 and guided by experienced educators. All education staff is

first aid and CPR certified.
