• Birmingham is a city in the West Midlands of England. It is the most populous British city outside the capital London, with a population of 1,036,900 (2010 estimate).

Shopping at The Bullring• The Bull Ring is a major

commercial area of Birmingham, England.

• The current shopping centre was the busiest in the United Kingdom in 2004 with 36.5 million visitors. It houses one of only four Selfridges department stores, the fourth largest Debenhams and the first Forever 21 store in Europe. Consequently, the centre has been a huge success, attracting customers from all over the world, including New York.

Nightlife – Broad Street• Broad Street is a

major thoroughfare and popular nightspot in Birmingham City Centre, United Kingdom.

• During the 1990s, Broad Street was transformed into a dynamic convention, entertainment and nightlife quarter, centred on the International Convention Centre, which opened in 1991.

• The Broad Street area is home to numerous bars and restaurants, the Brindleyplace development and cultural attractions such as the Ikon Gallery.

Sport

• Birmingham is home to four major sport teams that play in the top professional leagues in England. Football; Birmingham City, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion. Cricket; Warwickshire County Cricket Club.

Transport

• Birmingham is a major transport hub, due in part to its location in central England. Public transport in the city is overseen by the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive whose public brand is Centro/Network West Midlands.
