FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Dear Bishop Ludden Community,

January can be a challenging month! Cabin fever, tensions

surface, and you just can’t seem to escape the doldrums. We seek

relief: movies, basketball games, friends, reading something to

help us over the hump of cold, frustration, and irritability.

I listened to a sermon given by Deacon Michael Colabufo last

week. He is our former superintendent. His words touched me

as he spoke of change, and how uncomfortable change is. Every

day we seek new and better ways to improve.

February is here!

We have lofty goals to reach: maintaining and strengthening our

connections to higher institutions, more grant applications for

academic and facility improvements, enhancing our course

offerings, etc.

I thank our Science Department, who has really done so much to

make STEM activities a reality. A new endeavor is Master Minds,

headed by Mrs. Babcock and offered to us by ESM. Innovation

Challenge is looking for our students to be creative and

innovative in their scientific projects.

Ms. Dordal has again begun a group for Mock Trial. Her law

background offers new perspectives for students interested in law

and the Justice System.

Our Advancement Committee is meeting and creating effective

communications to help others know what you already know:

Bishop Ludden is a great place to be. We have and will continue

to make changes as we challenge ourselves and our students to

grow and become better individuals and a stronger school

community.

Please continue to pray for me and Bishop Ludden. Prayer does

move mountains, and we are on the move!

I share with you a quote from a poster I saw: “Never doubt that a

small group of committed, thoughtful people can change the

world: Indeed it’s the only thing that ever has!” – Margaret Mead

God bless you,

Mrs. Reichert

Ministry Peer Leaders served 255 meals

at the Samaritan Center. Great job show-

ing Christ to others!

Vocations Week

A special thank you to Fr. Joe O’Connor (Bishop Ludden alum) who came to spend the week of January 9th—13th with our stu-

dents. Fr. Joe spoke to each religion class about their vocation and listening to God’s call. At the conclusion of Vocations Week,

students spent time in chapel for Adoration and ended the day with Mass and Benediction. THANK YOU FR. JOE!

10th Grade Retreat

On Thursday, January 19, the 10th graders went on their class retreat to St. Joseph’s Church. The theme of the retreat was

RESPECT. One of the activities on retreat was learning to respect others. The Ludden students teamed up with the St. Joseph’s

preschooler to create fun Valentine's Day decorations and the other service project was helping with different tasks with the

church’s food pantry. The last part of retreat was attending mass with St. Joseph’s pastor, Fr. Worn. Thank you to the St. Joseph’s

Church community for welcoming Bishop Ludden!

February Menu

Dear Parents and/or Guardians of Bishop Ludden Students,

On Saturday, March 25th, the Bishop Ludden Senior Class will be hosting our annual Fashion Show begin-

ning at 6:00pm in our gymnasium. At this event, parents, students, faculty and other members of our Bishop

Ludden community will gather to enjoy a fashion show put on by our Senior Class. Seniors will strut the run-

way in various gowns, tuxedos, sports uniforms, and other outfits of choice. Funds raised through this event

will go to support the Senior Class and also help fundraise for the After the Gala event.

I will be co-chairing the event with the help of my mother, Mary Jo Beamish, and many other members of

our committee. We are asking for your assistance to make this year's Fashion Show one to remember! To

make this event a success, we are looking for three major sponsors. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity

to advertise your company, a company you work for or a company you know. Major sponsors would donate

$500 and receive a full page ad in the Fashion Show pamphlet, along with advertisement through social me-

dia, posters, newsletters, etc. For more information, please refer to the email that was sent separately.

We are also looking for local companies, businesses, or any private donation to purchase ad space in the pam-

phlet which will be passed out at the Fashion Show. You may purchase ads for $25, $50, and $100. Please

refer to the email that was sent separately.

If you would like further information or have questions, please feel free to contact Mary Jo Beamish at

[email protected] ; Work (315) 471-0405; or Cell (315) 440-3181.
