ल िंग

सिंज्ञा शब्द के जिस रूप से य ज्ञात ो कक ि पुरुष िातत का ै या स्त्री िातत का, उसे ल िंग क ते ैं। ‘ल िंग’ का अर्थ है- चिह्न। ल िंग सिंज्ञा का वह क्षण है जो सिंज्ञा के परुुषवािी या स्त्रीवािी होने का बोध कराता है।

ल िंग के भेद

हहिंदी भाषा में ल िंग के दो भेद होते हैं 1. पुल् िंग

2. स्त्रील िंग

1. पुज् िंग – जो शब्द पुरुष जातत का बोध कराते हैं, वे पुल् िंग कह ाते हैं; जैस-ेघोडा, हार्ी, कुत्ता, आयुष आहद। 2. स्त्रील िंग – जो शब्द स्त्री जातत का बोध कराते है, वे स्त्रील िंग है; जैसे-घोडी, हचर्नी, गातयका, आहद।

ल िंग की प चान

सजीव वस्त्तुओिं के ल िंग की पहिान आसान है ेककन तनजीव वस्त्तुओिं को व्यवहार और परिंपरा के आधार पर स्त्रील िंग या पुल् िंग माना जाता है। ऐसे शब्दों का ल िंग जानने के ल ए उन शब्दों के सार् वाक्यों में जो किया हो रही है या उनमें आए ववशेषण शब्दों पर ध्यान दें, तो ल िंग की पहिान आसान हो जाती है।

प्राणीवािक सिंज्ञा शब्द स्त्री-परुुष या नर-मादा दोनों का बोध कराते हैं। कुछ शब्द सदा पुल् िंग या सदैव स्त्रील िंग रूप में ही प्रयोग ककए जाते हैं।

सदैि पुज् िंग शब्द

1. बबच्छू, खरगोश, कौआ, खटम , तोता, भेडडया, मच्छर, गैंडा, उ् ू, बाज, िीता, भा ू, कछुआ, गीदड आहद।

2. कुछ समुदायवािक सिंज्ञाएँ पुल् िंग होती हैं तो कुछ स्त्रील िंग, जैसे पररवार, द , समाज, झुिंड, जत्र्ा, वगथ, ोग, गु दस्त्ता, समूह, सिंघ, कुटुिंब आहद।

3. पवथत, सागर, देश, पेड, महीने, धातु, तारे-ग्रह (नक्षर), रत्न, शरीर के अिंग आहद नाम प्रायः पुल् िंग में होते हैं।

4. पवथतों के नाम – हहमा य, वविंध्याि , आ््स , एिंडडज आहद। 5. सागरों के नाम – प्रशािंत महासागर, हहिंद महासागर, अरब सागर आहद। 6. देशों के नाम – अमरीका, इिंग् ैंड, भारत, फ्ािंस, रूस, िीन, जापान, इट ी आहद। 7. पेडों के नाम – िीड, चिनार, जामुन, बरगद, नीम, पीप , आम, अमरूद आहद। अपवाद-इम ी,

नारिंगी स्त्रील िंग।

8 धातुओिं के नाम – पीत , ताँबा, कािंस्त्य, ोहा, सोना आहद। (अपवाद–िादँी – स्त्रील िंग)

9.नक्षरों के नाम – बुध, शुि, मिंग , ििंद्र, सूयथ, पथृ्वी आहद। (अपवाद-स्त्रील िंग)

10 रत्नों के नाम – हीरा, पन्ना, मूिंगा, पुखराज आहद। 11.शरीर के अिंग – मँुह, हार्, कान, ग ा, पैर, पेट, अँगूठा, बा आहद। 12. हदनों के नाम – सोमवार, मिंग वार, बुधवार, गुरुवार आहद। 13. कुछ प्राणणयों के नाम िैसे – चग हरी, ततत ी, दीमक, मक्खी, मैना, तछपक ी, िी , कोय , मकडी, ोमडी, मछ ी, जें आहद। वणथमा ा के कुछ अक्षर जैसे-अ, आ, उ, ऊ, क, ख, ग, घ, त, प, र, हे, आ पुल् िंग में होते हैं।

स्त्रील िंग शब्द बनाने का तनयम

नदी, भाषा, ल वप, ततचर्, बो ी, बरतन, आहद के नाम स्त्रील िंग होते हैं; जैस े

नहदयों के नाम – गिंगा, सरस्त्वती, यमुना, कावेरी आहद। भाषाओिं के नाम – हहिंदी, सिंस्त्कृत, मराठी, गुजराती, तलम , अिंगे्रजी, जमथन आहद। ल वपयों के नाम – देवनागरी, रोमन, गुरुमुखी आहद। ततथियों के नाम – पूर्णथमा, एकादशी, अमावस्त्या आहद। बोल यों के नाम – देवनागरी, रोमन, गुरुमुखी आहद। कुछ बरतनों के नाम – कटोरी, र्ा ी, िम्मि, क छी, छ नी आहद। शरीर के कुछ अिंगों के नाम – गरदन, कमर, जीभ, उँग ी, छाती, आँख आहद।

इसके अततररक्त लजन शब्दों के अिंत में आई, ता, नी, आवट, आहट, ई, री, आस, इया, इमा आहद प्रत्यय जुडे होते हैं, वे भी स्त्रील िंग में होते है; जैस े

शब्दों के अिंत ‘आ’ िोड़कर

आस – भडास, ्यास आहद। इया – चिडडया, गुडडया, पुडडया, बुह़िया, ुहटया आहद। इमा – ाल मा, गररमा, काल मा, महहमा आहद। सदैि ये शब्द स्त्रील िंग ोते ैं – चग हरी, ततत ी, दीमक, मक्खी, मैना, तछपक ी, िी , कोय , मकडी, ोमडी, मछ ी, जू आहद। सिंस्त्कृत के कुछ ऐसे शब्द जो आकारािंत होते हैं, वे भी स्त्रील िंग में होते हैं; जसैे-

शब्द के जिस रूप से उसके एक या अनके ोने का पता च ता ै, उसे िचन क ते ैं।

विन के भदे – ‘विन’ का अर्थ सिंख्या से है। इस आधार पर विन के दो भेद होते हैं 1. एकविन 2. बहुविन

1. एकिचन – शब्द के लजस रूप से एक ही प्राणी अर्वा वस्त्तु का बोध होता है, वह एकविन कह ाता है; जैस-े पुस्त्तक, डकी, चिडडया, बस आहद। 2. ब ुिचन – शब्द के लजस रूप से एक से अचधक प्रार्णयों अर्वा वस्त्तुओिं का बोध होता है, वह बहुविन कह ाता है; जैसे कुरलसयाँ, मा ाएँ, पक्षीवृिंद, पुस्त्तकें आहद।

2. गवथ के ल ए – कभी-कभी अचधकार या गवथ के भाव प्रदलशथत करने के ल ए एकविन के स्त्र्ान पर बहुविन आता है। जैस–े

3. पुरुषवािक सवथनाम ‘तू’ एकविन है, परिंतु लशष्टता को ध्यान में रखते हुए हहिंदी भाषा में ‘तू’ के स्त्र्ान ‘तुम’ अर्वा ‘आप’ का प्रयोग ककया जाता है; जैस े

बेटा, आपके वपता जी का नाम क्या है? 4. हस्त्ताक्षर, प्राण, दशथन, होश, ोग आहद शब्द प्रायः बहुविन रूप में ही प्रयुक्त होते हैं; जैस े

• उसके प्राण तनक गए। • आपके दशथन द ुथभ हैं। • आपने हस्त्ताक्षर कर हदए।

5. कभी-कभी सिंज्ञा शब्दों के विन को प्रभाव सवथनाम, ववशेषण, किया तर्ा कियाववशेषण पर भी पडता है। जैस-े सिथनाम पर जैस-े

• मेरा बटेा पास हो गया। (एकविन)

• मेरे बेटे पास हो गए। (बहुविन)

कक्रया-विशेषण पर-

• बच्िा भागता हुआ आया। (एकविन) • बच्िे भागते हुए आए। (बहुविन)

6. आकाश, पानी, वषाथ, जनता, प्रजा, सत्य आहद शब्दों का प्रयोग सदैव एक विन में होता है; जैसे

• पानी भर गया है। • सदा सत्य बो ो।।

7. कुछ सिंबिंधसूिक सिंज्ञाएँ दोनों विनों में समान रहती हैं; जैस-ेनाना, नानी, िािा, दादा, मामा, पापा, बाबा, काका आहद।

तुम्हें अपना काम स्त्वयिं करना िाहहए।

सिंज्ञा या सवथनाम के लजस रूप से उसका सिंबिंध वाक्य की किया से जाना जाए, उसे कारक कहते हैं। कारक को प्रकट करने के ल ए लजन लजहनों का प्रयोग ककया जाता है, उसे कारक की ववभलक्तयाँ या परसगथ पर’ का अर्थ है- बाद। कारक चिह्न सिंज्ञा या सवथनाम के बाद गते हैं; जैस े

1. मनोज ने सेब खाया। 2. पेड़ से पत्ते चगर रहे हैं। 3. लशक्षक छारों को प़िा रहे हैं। 4. वपता जी बच्िों के ल ए फ ाए। 5. तोता डा पर बैठा है।

इन वाक्यों में आए ने, को, से, के ल ए तर्ा पर परसगथ सिंज्ञा तर्ा किया के सिंबिंध को प्रकट कर रहे हैं। यहद हम वाक्यों से इन कारक चिह्नों को हटाकर प़ेि तो हमें वाक्य में प्रयुक्त सिंज्ञा तर्ा किया शब्दों को आपस में सिंबिंध समझ में नहीिं आएगा और वाक्यों का अर्थ स्त्पष्ट नहीिं होगा। अतः वाक्यों का अर्थ समझने के ल ए इन कारक चिह्नों का प्रयोग आवश्यक है।

ऊपर ल खे आठों कारकों में से केव छह कारक ही वाक्य में प्रयुक्त सिंज्ञा या सवथनाम का सिंबिंध उस वाक्य की किया बताते हैं। सिंबिंध कारक तर्ा सिंबोधक कारक यह सिंबिंध नहीिं बताते । सिंबिंध कारक वाक्य में प्रयुक्त दो सिंज्ञाओिं का सिंबिंध बताता है; जैस–े

(i) ये कोम के र्ख ौने हैं। (ii) वह अिंशु का घर है।

1. कताथ कारक – कताथ का अर्थ है-काम करने िा ा। सिंज्ञा या सवथनाम के लजस रूप से किया करने वा े का बोध हो, उसे कताथ कारक कहते हैं; जैस े

ओजस्त्व ने पाठ प़िा। वपता जी ने खाना खाया।

2. कमथ कारक – सिंज्ञा या सवथनाम द्वारा दी गई किया का फ या प्रभाव लजस पर पडता है, उसे कमथ कारक कहते हैं। जैसे-

• माँ ने बा क को सु ाया। • अध्यापक ने छारों को प़िाया।

3. करण कारक – लजसकी सहायता से कोई कायथ हो वह सिंज्ञा या सवथनाम शब्द, करण कारक कह ाता है; जैस े

• किं स कृष्ण के द्िारा मारा गया। • ब़िई ने आरी से कडी काटी।

4. सिंप्रदान कारक – ‘सिंप्रदान’ का शालब्दक अर्थ है-देना। लजसके ल ए कोई कायथ ककया जाए या लजसे कुछ हदया जाए, वह सिंज्ञा या सवथनाम पद सिंप्रदान कारक होता है। जैसे-

• आयुष ने रोहन को पुस्त्तक दी। • महह ा ने भूखे को भोजन हदया।

5. अपादान कारक – सिंज्ञा या सवथनाम के लजस रूप से अ ग होने का भाव प्रकट हो, वहाँ अपादान कारक होता है। इसका ‘परसगथ’ से होता है। जैसे-

• चिडडया पेड से उड गई। • पहाडों पे झरना बहा।

6. सिंबिंध कारक – सिंज्ञा के लजस रूप से ककसी वस्त्त ुका दसूरी वस्त्तु से सिंबिंध प्रकट हो, उसे सिंबिंध कारक कहते हैं। जैसे-

• यह मेरा किं ्यूटर है। • वह नेहा का घर है।

7. अथधकरण कारक – सिंज्ञा या सवथनाम के लजस रूप से किया के आधार या उसके होने के स्त्र्ान का या समय का बोध होता है; उसे अचधकरण कारक कहते हैं। जैसे-

• डा पर तोता बैठा है। • बच्िे कक्षा में बैठे हैं।

8. सिंबोधन कारक – शब्द के लजस रूप में ककसी को बु ाने या पकुारने का भाव प्रकट हो, उसे सिंबोधन कारक कहते हैं। सिंबोधन का अर्थ पुकारना। जैसे-

• अरे बबीत! इधर आओ। • हे ईश्वर ! सबकी रक्षा करो।

कमथकारक और सिंप्रदान कारक में अिंतर

दोनों कारकों में ‘को’ परसगथ का प्रयोग ककया है, ेककन दोनों में अिंतर है; जैस–े

1. मैंने नेहा को पसु्त्तक दी (सिंप्रदान कारक)

2. मैं रजत को समझाऊँगा। (कमथ कारक)

पह े वाक्य में देने का भाव है, अतः सिंप्रदान कारक है। दसूरे वाक्य में ‘समझाने’ किया का फ रजत पर पड रहा है।

करण कारक और अपादान कारक में अिंतर

इन दोनों कारकों का परसगथ से है, कफर भी दोनों में अिंतर है; जैस े

1. वह क म से ल खती है। 2. गिंगा हहमा य से तनक ती है।

पह े वाक्य में ल खने की किया’ क म से हो रही है यानी क म ल खने की किया का साधन है। अतः ‘करण कारक है। दसूरे वाक्य में परृ्क होने का भाव है। अतः अचधकरण कारक है।
