The following instructions are given to ensure your safety and preventthe loss of property. Read them thoroughly and use the product correctly.
] Do not disassemble, repair, or remodel the product.
This may result in electrical shock, re or damage to the product. Contact a servicecenter when your product needs to be repaired. Your warranty will be voided if youhave disassembled, repaired, or remodeled the product yourself.
]When cleaning the product, do not spray water directly onto the main body of theproduct. Be careful that water does not enter the product and that it is not wet.This may result in electric shock, re or a product malfunction.

] If the power to the product is disconnected due to a big accident, no scenes will berecorded.

Chapter 01
Inserting/Removing a Micro SD Card
1. Turn off the BlackVue.
2. Press the Micro SD card lightlyand slide it into the BlackVue in thedirection shown in the gure.
3. To remove the Micro SD card, pressit lightly and it will eject.
Using a Micro SD Card
] Caution When Using a Micro SD Card
y Insert/Remove the Micro SD card while the BlackVue is turned off. (Ensure that all theLEDs of the BlackVue are turned off.)
y Do not remove the Micro SD card while the BlackVue is reading or writing data. This maycorrupt the data or result in a product malfunction.
y Check the data stored on the Micro SD card periodically to ensure that the product operatesnormally.
y Use a Micro SD card provided by Pittasoft. Using a card from other companies mayresult in data corruption or a product malfunction.
y The Micro SD card is an expendable item. Replace it with a new one if it has been usedfor an extended period of time.
y Make sure to back up important data to another storage medium. We do not provide awarranty for any corrupted data that occurs while using the product.

Upgrading the Firmware
If a new rmware has been released for reasons such as improvingfunctionality, please download the latest rmware and upgrade your BlackVue product.
1. Go to the www.pittasoft.comwebpage and download thermware upgrade le.
2.Launch the downloaded upgradele.
3. Follow the instructions. The updateles will be saved to the Micro SDcard.
4. Turn the BlackVue product off andinsert the Micro SD le with the
upgraded rmware.5. Turn on the BlackVue product. As
the unit boots up, the rmware willbe updated automatically.
] Do not power off the unit while the update is in progress.
] Formatting the Micro SD card
y It is recommended that you format the Micro SD card once a week. y If the recorded video does not play smoothly, format the Micro SD card.
y To ensure the stable operation of the card, format the Micro SD card using the of cialprogram recommended by the SD card association. For more information aboutformatting, refer to the Pittasoft website (www.pittasoft.com).
y Backup any important data stored on the Micro SD card to your PC.y
When formatting is complete, upgrade the rmware. If the default les are not on theMicro SD card, the BlackVue recording will fail.

1. Stop the engine and remove thekey from the ignition.
Install the BlackVue in a well-lit andsafe location.
2. Insert a Micro SD card into theBlackVue.
For more information on using the MicroSD card, refer to page 7.
3. Attach the BlackVue to a windshieldof your car using double-sided tape.
Wipe all foreign material and moisturefrom the surface to which the double-sided tape will be attached using a softand dry cloth.
If the product is installed on a windowhot wire, this may cause the hot wireto be damaged when removing theproduct later.
We recommend that you install theBlackVue behind the rear view mirror.Install it in a location that does nothinder your visibility.
If the BlackVue happens to be removedfrom the holder, refer to page 11.
4. Connect the [DC IN] terminal of theBlackVue and the cigarette jack of your car using the power cable.
5. Tie the power cable.
Use the provided cable holder, if necessary.

6. Adjust the position of the cameralens of the BlackVue.
Ensure that it is level with the ground.
Check the data saved during a testdrive. Adjust the lens position, if necessary.
7. Start the engine. Check whether the BlackVue is installed correctly.
When the BlackVue is installedcorrectly, its LED will turn on.
] Caution When Installing the BlackVue

Installing or operating the product while you are driving may cause anaccident. Stop your car at a safe location and install or operate the product. y If you smell any strange smells or the cigarette jack emits smoke, stop
using the product and contact your local product distributor. y Dust in the cigarette jack may cause excessive heat or re. Clean it
periodically.y Frequently check whether the main body of the product is installed
securely. The BlackVue may fall due to vibrations and result in personalinjury or damage to the product.

Connecting the BlackVue to an AV Product
Connect the BlackVues [AV OUT] terminal to the AV unit using the AV cable (accessory).
You can view scenes from the BlackVue on the AV product in real time.
You cannot view scenes recorded by the BlackVue on it.
When [AV OUT] terminal is being used, the frame rate will be reduced. If the AV cable jack (accessory) and the AV device port have a different size, usean appropriate gender adapter to connect them.
Removing the BlackVue from the Holder
While pressing the [LOCK] button for the holder, pull the main body of the BlackVue as shown in the gure.
The main body of the BlackVue is easily removed from the holder.
Assembling it into the holder: Align the grooves of the main body of theBlackVue with those of the holder and slide the main body into the holder until youhear a click.

Chapter 02Using the BlackVue
Using the Normal Recording FunctionStart the engine.
BlackVue turns on and starts the Normal Recording function. After it isturned on, it records and saves scenes at each speci ed period of time.
If you select [Normal record Off] in the [Normal Record] in the Set-up screen, thisfunction will be disabled ( See page 20).
Using the Parking Recording FunctionPress the button on the BlackVue.Records motion detection or G-sensor events only.
Press the button again to deactivate theparking recording function.
Activating a parking recording eventdeactivates normal recording mode.
Go to the setup screen and adjust the[Sensitivity for Parking Recording Mode]setting ( See page 22).
Using the BlackVue as a parking surveillance camera requires a constant power source.

Using the Event Recording FunctionWhen BlackVue detects an impact which is greater than the speci edvalue, it starts an Event Recording function, consequently capturingthe scenes before and after an event.
Go to the setup screen and adjust the settings for [G-Sensor] under Sensitivity. It is possible to con gure different [G-Sensor] settings for the normal recordingand parking recording functions ( See page 22).
You can select the relevant recording time unit in the [Record File Unit] section inthe Set-up screen ( See page 21).
Turning off the BlackVueStop the engine.
The BlackVue will turn off after about 5 seconds.
All LED indicators of the BlackVue will turn off.
G-Sensor (3 axis acceleration sensor)
y BlackVue uses a G-sensor to detect impacts and to start makingrecordings of events.
y The G-sensor is a 3 axis acceleration sensor and has X- (front and rear),Y- (right and left) and Z-axes (up and down).
y You can view the G-sensor information for the recorded les using theBlackVue Software.
y
The G-sensor value measured by the BlackVue cannot be used as data for identifying the situation of the accident that occurred.

The BlackVue Software allows you to conveniently play and manage thescenes recorded by the BlackVue. By using the BlackVue Software, youcan play or back up a recorded le and con gure your BlackVue Set-up.
1. Connect the provided Micro SDcard to your computer.
2. Double-click the 'BlackVueSetup.exe' le on the Micro SD card.
You can download this le from our website (www.pittasoft.com).
3. Follow the directions presented bythe Setup program until you nishthe installation.
4. Check that a shortcut to theBlackVue Software is created onthe Windows Desktop.
Double-click the shortcut to the
BlackVue Software to run the program.
Using the BlackVue without installing the software
y Run the BlackVue.exe le in the Application folder on the Micro SD
card. This makes it possible to use the BlackVue without installing thesoftware.

1. Click the [ Browse] button andselect the folder in which the le islocated.
The les contained in the selectedfolder are displayed in the list.
2. Double-click the le you want toplay. (Alternatively, select the le
and click the button.).The selected le starts to beplayed.
Scroll mouse wheel to Zoom In/Out inPlaying Screen View.(Min. 0.5X ~ Max. 2.0X)
You can control the playing speed from0.5x to 2.0x speed.
To list only the les with the types youspecify, select or deselect the buttons inthe [Select Types] section.(All types are selected by default.)

Adjusting the Screen y (Display Calibration)

The date and time of the recordingappears at the top left of thescreen.
Using the timelineBy using the timeline, you can view the recordings for each hour of the selected date at a single glance. In addition, you can easilysearch/play a le for the hour you require.

Red circle: Indicates that there is at least one le recorded during the date. Yellow circle: Indicates the selected date.

Saving the Selected Screen as an Image File / Printing1. Pause the le by clicking the button while it is being played.
Select the scene you want to save.
To select the scene you want, select the seconds in the timeline or seek the sceneby using the / buttons.
2. Click the button. Check the path in which the le will be savedand then click the Save button.The selected scene is saved as an image (jpeg or bmp) le.
3. Click the button. The selected scene is printed.
Saving a Recorded File as a Video File
1. Select a recorded le you want to save as a video le in the File List.
2. Click the button. Check the path in which the le will be savedand then click the Save button.
The selected le is saved as a video (AVI) le.

1 Time Zone
y Select the time zone where you are using the BlackVue. Thissetting is used for the time information for recorded les.
2 Image Setting
y Resolution: Set the resolution for recorded les. The higher theresolution, the larger the le.
y Image Quality: Set the image quality for recorded les. Thehigher the image quality, the larger the le.
y Frame Rate: Set the frame rate for recorded les.y Brightness: Controls the brightness of the recording.
3 ETC
y LED On: Allows you to selectively turn LEDs on or off.y Voice Alarm: The BlackVue product plays voice messages during
certain events. This option allows you to selectivelyenable/disable the voice messages.
y Alarm Volume: Allows you to adjust the volume of the voicemessages.
4 Recording Setting
y Normal Record:
- Normal Record On: Records all situations while you are driving.
- Normal Record Off: Records only the situations for EventRecording and Parking Recording(Parking mode only).
y Voice Record: Select whether to use the Voice Recordingfunction.

y Date and Time Display: Adds the date and time to the bottom leftof the recording.
y Record File Unit: Sets the Recording File Unit when a le issaved.
y Event Recording File Protection (Storage Allocation): If the Micro SD card runs out of storage space, newly recordeddata will overwrite the existing data. This option allows you to
decide whether to protect event recording ( / ) les frombeing overwritten.
