IN GENERAL TREMS:IN GENERAL TREMS:

A Blade Server is a computer system on a motherboard, which includes processor(s), memory, a network connection and sometimes storage.

Page 3: Blade server

The blade idea is to address the needs of large scale computing centers to reduce space requirements for application servers and lower costs.

Blades can be added as required, often as "hot pluggable" units of computing as they share a common high speed bus.

CPU Blades share common resources such as cabling, power supply and cooling fans.

Blade technology places a series of computers vertically in an enclosure called a CAGE which is then placed on a rack in the server room.
