‚Music is a universal language that transcends any man made barrier. Music is God.‛ says this gifted music enthusiast. ShareeQ has drawn inspiration from the likes of Lauryn Hill, Bob Marley and Nas, amongst others. ‚I strongly believe that music, more than anything else, is a way of life‛.
Pitso ‚ShareeQ Rebel‛ Mofokeng, born in 1989, is a young aspiring and passionate poet-emcee/ singer with a dynamic outlook on music. With influences that range from hip-hop, reggae and afro-jazz with a hint of old school soul and RnB. ShareeQ’s writing is driven by everyday life events, GOD, and pure positivity which is what he strives to emphasize, and spread across the world.

Meet art personified, the pure definition and epitome of innovation, the other half of the vocalists/ lead singers in the family, Mkhulu Elliot Tshabalala. Born in 1988, Mkhulu is a vastly talented being, not only with the music, but the art as a whole. He is no stranger to music, dancing, song writing, dance and drama directing, playing guitar, vocal training nor composing his own songs. Mkhulu's passion and love for the art has taken him places, introduced him to new people of his likeness. He has earned himself the privilege to work with some of the hard working teams to date, Katleho Theatre Production, Botho Cultural Project, African Unity Theatre Production, Tswelopele Arts Production Just to name a few. ‚Art is a place where all things great meet‛

Tshitso ‚Jus’Purple‛ Makunyane, one of the most astoundingly versatile guitarists to emerge from Vaal Triangle, or South Africa rather, to date, is the lead guitarist in the family. His love for music has blessed him with more than just caressing strings, Jus’Purple is also a music composer, song writer, and also a guitar tutor. The manner in which he plays is very distinct, easy to relate to and can pass the intended emotion/vibe very quickly. This has earned him the opportunity to work with the likes of Lulo Café, Mawe2, Ntjapedi and Vini Da Vincy just to name a few. ‚Music is God’s gift to man, the only art of heaven given to earth. We ought to live by it.‛
Molefe ‚Principle‛ Sefatsa, born in Sebokeng, Vaal Triangle, in 1991 and raised around numerous parts of the Vaal. Started off in 2008, as a poet. As , time passed, got introduced to numerous change music hip hop sounds, subsequently learnt to merge the two. Later down the line, found the music in it all. This young man’s approach to music articulately reflects his beliefs, lifestyle and everything in between.

‘Momma told me ‚Put your shoulders up, you need to sober up / hold your ground and go buck, for you’re the galaxy and all stars. . .‛’. Principle is not only a versatile writer, but he can carry the message across vividly, effectively, in a creative manner, rest assured. Principle is not only the wordsmith in the family, but he plays guitar as well. Soon to stage with the team in the performances.

BlaQ2sday MusiQ was formed in honor of musicianship and out of respect for the art of playing
live music. The band was founded in December 2011 by all 4 members. Although the fellas had known each other before, only then did they feel it was right for them to get together and do nothing but amazing things. All these four individuals together form an impeccable, motivated team with a clear sound. The variety in the band is astoundingly versatile, and can cater for any kind of sound, event, at any given time or day. They started performing in June-July 2012 at House of Hunger, Alliance Francaise de Johannesburg. ‚Excited as they were with the love they got from the stages they’ve graced such as Toninos in Johannesburg, Vereeniging Civic Theatre, Alliance Francaise de Durban, University of Witwatersrand, Fezile Dabi HIV and AIDS Benefit Concert and Emerald Casino and Resort just to name a few, they were just oozing inspiration to keep on creating what makes the world go ‘round, music!‛. People started recognizing these messengers, and started inviting them to private functions like weddings, birthday events to family gatherings. And BlaQ2sday as always, never disappointed. Blaq2sday is fundamentally a soulful jazz band and at the same time very versatile, able to confidently switch between different genres from African jazz, hip-hop, Maskandi-hop, afro-pop, soul, funk to dub-step music. They represent a class akin to the standards of purist jazz enthusiasts along with a feel that appeals to every one young and old. Blaq2sday exudes confidence in their presentation on stage that cannot be forged. The energy and collaboration is undeniably real.

This poise is synonymous to seasoned musicians who have come to understand the professionalism that goes hand in hand with the gift and duty to uplift humanity through music. One gets a sense of the group having achieved a rare discerning trust in how they play harmoniously off each other and are able to create and contort melodies on the same wave length all together, fashioning sounds that seduce the eardrums, impelling the sense of emotion into a roller coaster ride of the unknown. 2012 has been a serious learning curve for this team, and now they are ready to implement. 2013 promises to be an amazing year. With the new material in place, already cooked, you can be rest assured, these boys will be tearing apart venues, drawing in crowd, and leaving the people wanting more of this eclectic sound. This active team has two most important objectives for 2013, one is to perform non-stop all across South Africa, and abroad. The other is to release an 8 track Electronic press kit (Epk) to introduce their sound to the rest of the world. Although BlaQ2sday has only 4 stable members, depending on the specification of the event organizer, capacity of the venue and remuneration, the team has session artists ready to rock the people at any given time. These include the Drummer, the bass guitarist for the full 6 piece set, and also the percussionist for acoustic sets. ‚We’ve managed to cater for each and every kind of event setup we’ve had to perform at.‛
