solutions to safeguard people against hazards using our BlastTac range of products.

BlastTac utilises the best available next generation fabrics to create the world’s safest technologies and

innovations.

BlastTac blast curtains and blast blankets are incredibly lightweight, completely non flammable when combined

with Firemax and more effective than steel.

For protection in high-temperature applications, BlastTac created FireMax®. FireMax curtains and blankets

provide fire, heat and arc flash protection in addition to blast protection. Truly non-flammable, FireMax curtains

and blankets will not burn, melt or ignite and will also shed molten metal, certain chemicals, flammable liquids

and other molten substances. They are also re-usable even after intense heat and flame exposure.

SB72FM Material Construction

9853 CORE MATRIX TECHNOLOGY. 9853 patented technology offers vastly superior

protection against high speed frag deformable and non-deformable threats which are more

common and lethal than bullets. Our 9853 is constructed in a monolithic structure,

stopping threats from either side.

AMOURCORE 121 TECHNOLOGY. ArmourCore patented technology offers superior ballistic

protection. Used in conjunction with our exclusive 9853, our blankets and curtains offer UL

CERTIFIED PROTECTION to Level 2. Simply put - it will stop a .357 magnum!

US BALLISTIC NYLON (1050 Denier). Our Blast Safety Blankets are encased in in the

world’s best 1050 denier, US Military Grade ballistic nylon. This outer casing offers extreme

durability and adds waterproof capability for our blankets.

Test Standards

─ Independently tested and certified by Chesapeake Testing Labs in North Carolina.

─ Tested in accordance with U.S. Military, UL, NFPA standards, NIJ 0101.06 Compliance, V50

Test Sheet.

─ JBS complete system (Frame, Track Runners, Mounting Points and Blast Curtains) fully certified

by Lloyds Register. 3rd part verification requested by Exxon Mobil and Aker Solutions.

─ Tested in accordance with ASTM International Test Standards.

─ Thoroughly tested in-house by BlastTac (Breton Industries).

─ Independent assessment performed by DNV GL for oil and gas blast curtain application.

Step 1 - Site Survey for Offshore Drilling Rig Choke & Kill Manifold

1. Assess the location of high pressure equipment and proximity to rig floor workers. Confirm test pressures, hazards such as combustibility, determine threat level.

2. Determine the SAFETY PERIMETER around the outside of the curtain.

3. Check HP equipment for likely failure points and projectile trajectories.

4. Check if the curtain will obstruct normal rig floor operations when deployed. Access for maintenance / operations.

5. Will the deck anchor points become trip hazards when the curtain is not in use?

6. Identify fixing points for curtain and frame. Hot work / No hot work

7. Measure area to be covered by curtain.

8. Determine if there is a need for a roof curtain.

Pressure Test Bay Roof Protection - Retrofit

Many pressure test bays do not have any roof

protection.

The JBS patent pending roof containment system

has been designed to provide a certified retrofit roof

containment system using our BlastTac fabrics.

Manual and automated systems are available with

options for CCTV, Lighting and Interlocks.

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is used to determine

the threat level and a system designed to provide

maximum test cell utilisation.

JBS complete the turnkey project from site survey,

design, installation & commissioning.

Power Station Main GSU Transformer Protection

JBS BlastTac curtain systems are designed to protect against threats from arc flash, ballistics, fire, blast andfrag. Power Authorities have identified the GSU transformers as a critical component of the overall powergeneration facility.To assess the physical risks, identify objectives, and develop alternatives to mitigate the risks and enhancethe resilience of the Generator Step‐Up (GSU) transformers at Power Plants, JBS have designed anautomated blast containment system to meet the design criteria detailed below:

VSM Blast Curtain Protection – Separate valve of one phase from the other valves

Requirement: BlastTac blast curtain protection between each phase of the valve arrangements. Each unit of the VSM contains a stored energy and can potentially explode at any time. Blast curtain must withstand flying fragments and be completely non-flammable (or self extinguishing), lightweight and odour resistant.
