WHAT DID THE WORM DO?
It would make a registry entry so it would start up every time Windows started. It can make the Remote Procedure Call unstable. When infected, a buffer overflow makes the RPC fail and you get an error message.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO CRACK AND HOW WAS IT
FIXED?
It took 4 days to catch the virus August 11, 2003-August 15, 2003. Microsoft released a patch on July 16, 2003
HOW DID YOU GET THE WORM AND HOW WAS IT PREVENTED?
It originally attacked windowsupdate.com and it spread to others. Then you got it form a buffer overflow. It can be prevented by using a firewall and virus software and by having Microsoft’s patch.
