Meditation/Meditación CRISTO RENUEVA SU PARROQUIA. . .
Desde el primer día del Adviento tenemos este tema por el tiempo del año litúrgico del Ciclo B. Los Hermanos Cheos nos dieron buen inicio. Las velas de la Corona del Adviento nos encendieron la luz del Es-píritu Santo para este año litúrgico. La Virgen María Inmaculada nos recuerda nuestra dignidad con la cual el ser humano fue creado. La Virgen de Guadalu-pe nos pide congregarnos siempre en la iglesia para ser amigos del Dios vivo de la Eucaristía. El inicio de las posadas junto con las misas de aguinaldo, señalan que el sacrificio del Adviento es impor-tante para nuestra fe católica. Feli-cito a todos los grupos de los dife-rentes apostolados por ser buenos servidores en nuestra parroquia. Fíjense en el logo de Juan XXIII que dice: Entrega, Sacrificio y Amor. Qué bueno que el grupo de la catequesis enseña a los niños y jóvenes a saber que el sacrificio nos hace fuertes cristianos para el futuro de la parroquia que se está señalando. Que el inicio de la construcción del Centro de la Educación nos dé más motivos de sacrificarnos por el bien de nuestra familia parroquial.
Ya pasó el Adviento, disfrutemos de la Navidad, pues Dios manifiesta lo grande que es su amor. Es un tiempo de perdón y reconciliación, de gozo y paz. Dios se ha hecho hombre; Jesús el verbo se ha hecho carne, ha nacido como un niño. Ha venido a abrirnos las puertas del cielo y traernos la este salvación. Esta-mos invitados a contemplar al Señor, a dejarnos libe-rar por Él. Que Jesús nazca en tú corazón por primera vez, o que vuelva a nacer como si lo recibieras por vez primera.
Que se alegre nuestro corazón por el nacimiento del Hijo de Dios, que se alegre nuestro corazón porque se cumplen sus promesas. Que se alegre nuestro cora-zón, porque nuestra vida puede cambiar de una mane-ra radical y especial a partir de este momento. Si Dios ha venido a hacer morada en nosotros, nuestra vida tiene que cambiar, se tiene que notar que hemos cam-biado y eso sucede si dejamos a Dios actuar en ella...
Pidámosle pues a Dios abra nuestros ojos espiri-tuales y físicos para que podamos ver todas las gran-des obras que Él ha hecho en nuestra vida y en la vida de nuestra familia.
Que Dios nos bendiga en estas Navidades!!!
LEARNING TO SAY YES...
What do you want to be when you grow up? It’s a common question. Some of us are still trying to an-swer that question. We have decisions to make and opportunities before us. The difficulty comes when we start to believe and carry the burden that we are the
ultimate creator of our life. God said let there be all these things and there was all those things. Creation is the larger context for today’s gospel, the Annunciation to Mary. Today, we remember Mary’s words, “Let it be.” “Let it be with me ac-cording to your word.” Mary’s words, “Let it be,” echo God’s words, “Let there be.” It is like an ongoing call and response between God and humanity. God prays crea-tion into existence and Mary says, “Amen. Let it be.” God says, “Let there be” and his words bring forth creatures into the world. Mary says, “Let it be” and her words will bring
forth the Creator into the world. How amazing is that? Jesus is able to take flesh because Mary’s humanity gives him that possibility. This could only happen with Mary’s “Let it be.” Her gift to God is her humanity and through her our humanity. Each of us is called to grow up to be God-bearers, to carry the life of God within our own humanity. Mary is a part of us. She is that part of us that is womb-like, the part that gives birth to Christ in our world. To reject Mary is to say no to God. To reject Mary is to reject the holy of holies within us. To reject Mary is to end the ongoing story of creation and salvation. To love and venerate Mary, however, is to discover the life God is creating in us and who are to be when we grow up. Mary teaches us how to say, “Yes.” Each one of us is to echo Mary’s words, “Let it be.” Don’t hear this as passivity. We all live with veils that we think separate us from God. God looks through our veils to see the “favored one” even when we cannot see ourselves that way. God’s words of possibility speak across our veils announcing that God is with us and that we will conceive within us God’s own life. “Let it be” the impossible becomes a reality, the never before heard of will forever be spoken of, and the veil between divinity and humanity has fallen. Offer whatever excuses, reasons, and veils you have why this cannot be true for you. Gabriel will tell you differently.

CARACTERÍSTICAS TEOLÓGICO-PASTORALES DE LA PARROQUIA
7. COMUNIDAD EUCARÍSTICA. «En definitiva, la parroquia está fundada sobre una realidad teológica, porque ella es una comunidad eucarística. Esto significa que es una comunidad idónea para celebrar la eucaristía, en la que se encuentran la raíz viva de su edificación y el vínculo sacramental de su existir en plena comunión con toda la Iglesia. Tal idoneidad radica en el hecho de ser la parroquia una comunidad de fe y una comunidad orgánica, es decir, constitu-ida por los ministros ordenados y por los demás cristianos, en la que el párroco —que representa al obispo dioce-sano— es el vínculo jerárquico con toda la Iglesia particular» (ChL 26). Por eso toda eucaristía es una celebración de la Iglesia particular. Y el lugar normal donde esta Iglesia diocesana celebra su eucaristía es en la parroquia, célula viva y representación perfecta de todo su misterio. Decir que la parroquia es la comunidad más idónea para celebrar la eu-caristía significa reconocer que es en ella donde la eucaristía aparece mejor como fuente y culmen de toda la vida cris-tiana.
8. COMUNIDAD MISIONERA. La vocación propia de la Iglesia y su identidad más profunda consiste en evangelizar (cf EN 15). El objetivo, pues, y la razón de ser de la comunidad cristia-na no está dentro, sino fuera de sí misma; no existe para sí, sino para que los hombres experi-menten la fuerza de salvación que es el evangelio. Esto significa que la comunidad parroquial no puede permanecer replegada sobre sí misma, sino que ha de abrirse al mundo concreto donde está implantada y donde las gentes viven sus luchas, gozos y sufrimientos. Y cuando ese mundo se encuentra en vías de progresiva de-scristianización, la misión de la parroquia no puede reducirse a mantener la fe de los practi-cantes y acompañarlos en sus deberes cristianos, sino que ha de plantearse decididamente como evangelización estrictamente misionera, lo cual supone no actuar dando por supuesta la fe en el corazón de las personas y en el interior del tejido social, sino centrar todo el esfuerzo
en ayudar a despertarla primero, y a madurarla después como adhesión personal, libre y gozosa al Dios de Jesucristo. Y, más en concreto, una evangelización estrictamente misionera exige: acompañar y sostener a los creyentes débiles y desorientados; ayudar a los que se van alejando a reiniciar un camino de conversión, y dialogar con los diferentes grupos de increyentes para abrirles el camino hacia una primera adhesión al evangelio. 9. FERMENTO DE NUEVA HUMANIDAD. «Evangelizar significa para la Iglesia llevar la buena noticia a todos los am-bientes de la humanidad y, con su influjo, transformar desde dentro y renovar la misma humanidad» (EN 18). El evan-gelio es una fuerza liberadora que intenta transformar tanto la vida individual como la estructura de la convivencia so-cial. Por eso la evangelización no es sólo propagación y transmisión de una doctrina, sino también compromiso libera-dor que trabaja por cambiar las personas, las estructuras sociales, las costumbres, los comportamientos, las corrientes de opinión y los ambientes, hacia la creación de un mundo más acorde con el evangelio. En consecuencia, la misión de la parroquia no se agota en la catequesis y los sacramentos, como ha sucedido con frecuencia. La parroquia ha de dirigir también su acción a transformar su ambiente, a humanizar su realidad social con-creta, a hacer presentes y operativos los valores del Reino en la sociedad: «La Iglesia no ha dejado nunca de cumplir la misión que Cristo le ha encomendado, anunciando a los hombres la salvación... y enseñándoles a vivir según el evan-gelio» (IC 16). Y, para ello, tendrá que educar en los fieles la dimensión social y política de su fe, promover su com-promiso en la vida pública, promocionar los servicios asistenciales y promover una auténtica pastoral de ambientes, a través de grupos y movimientos especializados en esta labor.

MARCH FOR LIFE St. Augustine Day Trip

March for Life St. Augustine is for anyone of any faith who believes in the sanctity of human life. Our first march, in January of 2007, brought over 700 people of many different faiths, backgrounds and ages. The 2017 March drew over 3,000 people, not just from northeast Florida, but as far as Palm Beach, Miami, and St. Petersburg. Sometimes it can be hard to travel all the way to Washington, D.C. for the March for Life on Capitol Hill (although we definitely encourage it if you can!). But if you live in Florida and would like to take a stand for life in the nation's oldest city, we encourage you to make the pilgrimage - March for Life St. Augustine is well worth the trip!
