Blessed Lord, accept this burning candle as a sign of my faith and love for You.
Like this candle, I am ready to be used in your service without asking why and to what
purpose. Even as this candle, I wish to stand in Your presence and to be consumed in the light and warmth of our Love. Please hear my prayer
and, if it is Your will, grant my petition. But above all, make me loyal and faithful to You in

HOUSE BLESSING
Leader: Peace be to this house. All: And to all who live here.
Leader: Bless, O Lord, this household and family, and allow all of us who live in this home to find in it a shelter of peace and health. Inspire each of us to develop our individual talents and to contribute wisdom and good works for the benefit of the whole family. Make our house a haven for us all, and a place of warmth and caring for all our friends who come to visit us. Enlighten us with the brilliance of your Epiphany star, so that, as we go into the world, we might clearly see our way to You and discover You in our work and play. This we ask to your glory and in the power of your kingship. All: For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory now and forever, Amen.
Then, bless the house with the sign of the cross.
After the blessing, the initials of the Magi (traditional names: Caspar, Melchior, and Bal-thazar) are written with chalk over the main door way of the house, like this: 20 + C + M + B + 21

Please consider using the St. Vincent de Paul envelope. We have helped recipi-ents with food, shelter, medical, utilities, clothing, household items and furniture this year. Your donations help the many needy in our area. Thank you for your donations and pray-ers!
All kings shall pay him homage, all nations shall serve him.
— Psalm 72:11
We want you to know, brothers, of the grace of God* that has been given to the churches of Macedo-nia, for in a severe test of afflic-
tion, the abundance of their joy and their profound poverty overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. For according to their means, I can testify, and beyond their means, spontaneously, they begged us insistently for the favor of taking part in the service to the holy ones, and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and to us* through the will of God, so that we urged Ti-tus that, as he had already begun, he should also complete for you this gracious act also. Now as you excel in every respect, in faith, discourse, knowledge, all earnestness, and in the love we have for you, may you excel in this gracious act also. I say this not by way of command, but to test the genuineness of your love by your concern for others. ~ 2 Corinthians 8:1-15
This passage from the scriptures came to my mind as I sat in church gazing on the beautiful nativity sce-ne and decorations reflecting on this Christmas sea-son on our new Blessed Trinity parish. I am so moved and inspired by the incredible response there was for our “Giving Tree” “Christmas Gift Card Drive” as well as the many donations made from so many to help the needy in our own parish family and our local community. Even in the midst of the pan-demic and challenges that many of you have faced, your incredible love for the Lord and our parish is evident in your kindness and generosity. In this passage, St. Paul encourages the Church of
Corinth not to give because they feel obligated but to give be-cause of their love for others. He uses the Church of Macedo-nia as an example when Chris-tians who were facing severe afflictions and were suffering. They generously shared with others from what little they had and were overflowing with joy because of it. It is that tangible, real kindness and generosity that we as Christians are called to show and I have witnessed it in a real and powerful way this year in our parish. It is easy to say we loved others as we love the Lord but it really is much more meaningful when we back it up with ac-tions the way our parish has this Christmas. Generos-ity grows from a innate response to LOVE and that LOVE is GOD. Thank You for sharing your love for the Lord by generously LOVING others and know of my love and prayers for all of you!
“Generosity is the most natural outward expression
of an inner attitude of compassion and loving-kindness.”

ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
My Jesus, I believe that You are Present in the Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things and I desire You in my soul.
Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually
into my heart. As though You were already there, I embrace You and unite myself wholly to You; permit
not that I should ever be separated from You.
Amen.
Together we welcome:

PRAYER TO ST. MICHAEL Saint Michael, the Archangel,
defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God, thrust into Hell, Satan and the other evil spirits, who prowl about the
world for the ruin of souls. Amen. -Pope Leo XIII
A virtual Health point for consideration now (during this covid-19 crisis) more than ever before. It’s been my observation that there are some in the congregation who still receive Holy Communion on the tongue. Though
the faithful have the option to receive on the tongue or in the hand, from my perspective, since the covid-19 disease is transmitted through respiratory droplets via mouth-nose-tongue, I feel the prudent and safest way to receive the eucharist is in the hand. When the priest or deacon is administering eucharist to someone who receives on the tongue, the priest or deacon has to stop and sanitize their hands before continuing to distribute to the next and so on. By having to stop to sanitize, it creates that delay where people are now in close proximity to each oth-er which negates social distancing. I therefore, strongly encourage everyone to receive Holy Com-munion in the hand. In addition, I observe many who after receiving will move to the right or left in a military fashion stop and
make the sign of the cross, which is not necessary since you now have the very essence—body and blood of Jesus within you. Again, this practice can cause delays and in some in-stances, especially in tight areas can result in the per-son directly after, bumping into you. It is best to re-ceive our Lord in the hand and with reverence and proceed back to your seat. After the second Vatican council, the practice of re-ceiving communion in the hand was adopted and has become virtually universal throughout the Catholic church. Initially, I like many opted to receive on the tongue feeling that I was not worthy to receive our Lord in my hand. But consider this explanation that was offered to me by a very wise priest and friend who relieved my apprehension of receiving in the hand when he told me that no one is truly worthy however, we can cause more hurt and sin with our tongue, than with our hands.
To God be the Glory now and forever.
