１．Safety This HARMONY Block Water Bath has been tested and found to comply w ith safety limits for the CE regulation. Also, the block water bath is RoHS compliant to deliver confident product which meets the environmental directive. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy, and if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at their expense. Changes or modif ications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. It is strongly recommended for the user to read the follow ing points carefully before operating this equipment. ☞ Read the manual before using the Block Water Bath.

Do not alter the equipment. Failure to follow these directions could result in personal and/or laboratory hazards, as well as invalidate device w arranty.
Use a properly grounded electrical outlet w ith correct voltage and current handing capacity.
Disconnect from power supply plug if the unit is not going to be used for an extended period of time and before maintenance and servicing. Refer serving to qualif ied personal.
Insert the plug securely into a w all socket. Loose connections result in excessive heat generation to the device and may cause arcing to occur at the connection.
Before operation, ensure that the power cord is fully extended. Keep the cord away from heat sources and do not place any objects on any part of the cord.
Avoid using multi-point extension pow er cords.

Never use this instrument series w ithout having the safety cover correctly in position.
Do not use the unit if there is any sign of damage to the external tank or cover. Replace damage part.
Do not use in the presence of f lammable or combustible material; f ire or explosion may result. This equipment contains components w hich may ignite such materials.
Ensure that the system is connected to electrical service according to local and national electrical codes. Failure to properly connection may create f ire or shock hazard.
Use appropriate materials and operate correctly to avoid possible hazards of explosion implosion or release of toxic or f lammable gases arising from overheated materials.
Always use the block lif ter to remove hot blocks, and wear appropriate protection to avoid burning your hand. ATTENTION: Hot Surface!
The unit shall be operated only by qualif ied personnel.

Place the block w ater bath on a level, horizontal surface. Ensure that the device sits completely on a w orktop.
Do not install the device w here it can get damp or w et.
Do not use the device in potentially explosive atmosphere.
Do not operate the device in rooms where work is being carried out w ith explosive substances.
Do not use the device to process any substances which could create an explosive atmosphere
Do not use the device near a heat source or where temperatures are elevated. Do not operate the device w hen temperatures ambient to 40oC.

Do not use the device near a heat source or where temperatures are elevated. Do not operate the device w hen temperatures fall below 4oC and rise above 45oC.
Do not use the power supply when signs of damage are evident, and particularly if the pow er cable is damaged.
Only connect the power supply to voltage sources that correspond to the information on the identif ication plate regarding the pow er supply.
Do not use this device w here there are f lammable or corrosive vapors.
Install the device in a w ell-ventilated place. Insuff icient ventilation may result in breakdow n should there be overheating.
☞ Operating the device
Do not operate the device before reading and fully understanding all instructions in this manual.
Observe the national regulations for handling these substances as well as the material safety data sheets and manufacturer’s application notes.
This device is not designed to be user serviceable. Do not attempt to open or modify the device. Should be device be opened by unauthorized personnel, all w arranties are void.
Should there be any abnormal smell, or noise during operation, sw itch off the device immediately and contact your dealer for service.

Only use accessories and original spare parts recommended by manufacturer.
Only initiate dispensing if it is safe to do so.
Do not use the device to process samples w ith f lammable contents. This unit is not designed to be explosion-proof.
For all dispensing tasks, make sure that you are not endangering yourself or anyone else.
After operation, clean the device and unplug the power if it will not be used for extended periods.

7. Installation Instruction
The unit is actually a pre-installed instrument. As long as it is placed on a sturdy and level surface in a safe, dry place, and is inserted w ith one or tw o heating aluminum block(s) or simply w ater as a w ater bath, it is ready for operation.
8. Operating
8-1. Place the unit on a sturdy and level surface in a safe, dry place, aw ay from laboratory traffic.
8-2. Ensure that the AC pow er sw itch is OFF, then plug the three-pronged power cord into a grounded
three-prong AC outlet of the appropriate voltage (115V or 220V as indicated on the rating sticker near the AC
cord on the back of the unit).
8-3. Select suitable module block(s) or appropriate w ater volume and put it / them into the unit.
8-4. Turn the AC pow er ON.
8-5. Run temperature calibration procedure w hen using the instrument for the f irst time (see page 10).
8-6. Press Key until temperature f igure on the LCD display starts f lashing, and then
press or Key to adjust to the desired temperature.
8-7. If setting heating time is required, press Key until timer f igure on the LCD display starts f lashing,

and then press Key or Key to adjust timer in HH:MM format upon your request. Temperature
control w ill stop automatically w hen timer is up.
8-8. Press the Key to start heating.
8-9. If it is necessary to adjust timer during heating, press again to deactivate heating.
8-10. Press Key again to stop the unit.
9. Operation Protection Mechanism
Protection Mechanism Description
Warning: Temperature over 5°C
During operating, if the displayed temp. value is over 5°C than the set temp value, “Warning: Temperature over 5°C” w ill be displayed with alarm, and the instrument w ill shut down automatically.
SSR Failure
If temp. value raises automatically w ithout pressing the START Key to start heating after pow ering on the unit, “SSR Failure” w ill be displayed w ith alarm. This problem is due to SSR failure.
11. Temperature Calibration
This unit w ith the optional block(s) has been calibrated as a set. However, different block types or different
water source may have different inf luences and may cause different results. For optimum accurate temperature
control or while changing with different kinds of block or water, this unit should be calibrated in accordance with
the procedure outlined below.
11-1. Insert a 300mm calibrated laboratory Thermometer into the thermometer holding port, w hich is on the
block.
11-2. Switch the main power ON and press Key simultaneously. Don’t release until display between

1000 and 1500 located on the upper left area of display is presented. Then release Key
immediately; the unit is now under Calibration Mode.
11-3. Press Key f irst to enable the alteration of temperature parameter. Use or Key to
adjust the display value to the temperature you w ant to control w ith accuracy, and then press Key.
11-4. When the temperature reach the setting point. Display w ill show “Stabilizing” on lower left area. At the
same time the timer w ill automatically countdown for 30 minutes to make sure the whole system reaches
temperature uniformity. When timer is up, the temperature f igure become flashing and display shows “Ready
for Calibration”.
11-5. Adjust the display value to the same value as thermometer. And then press Key.
11-6. The calibration procedure is f inished. Please wait for few more minutes for the microprocessor to
automatically adjust displayed temperature value to the same value w ith thermometer measured.
11. Maintenance
Cleaning ・ The rotor and outside of the centrifuge should be cleaned regularly w ith a damp cloth. ・ Disconnect the centrifuge from the main supply before the cleaning. ・ Only neutral agents or a mild liquid soap may be used. ・ Do not use chemical cleaning agents or strong solvents. ・
Mechanical or chemical damage ・ Do not operate the centrifuge w hen there is mechanical or chemical damage. ・ Change faulty parts immediately.

13. Warranty Statement The w arranty for the device is 12 months from the date of purchase. During this period the device w ill be repaired or exchanged w ithout charge. Warranty is void on devices with damaged manufacture’s number, damaged seal, or damage due to improper use, storage or transport of device or service by unauthorized persons.
