Omega Grid is blockchain software that turns any electric grid into an open and safe

market. Our cyber-secure platform balances grid supply and demand with customer AI

agents to optimize the market.

In Jan 2019, Omega Grid & Burlington, VT went live with a blockchain rewards system for peak shaving.

This represents the first utility sponsored, customer facing energy blockchain project in the US, and

has already received coverage from Bloomberg, Ernest Moniz’s EFI policy paper, and the American Public

Power Association. Omega Grid will announce our second US utility partnership in June, the first project

in this territory will coordinate solar production with EV charging to reduce the infrastructure investment

expected to support EVs and solar. The project is sponsored by a global Europe-based utility and may

include DOE and APPA support

Inexpensive solar, batteries and electric vehicles are changing the utility business model. Utilities lack

a financial system to manage the new buyers and sellers on their grid. Over $1T of retail consumption will

come from local solar and battery sources.

TheHeilaIQ decentralized controllers host the softwareand Électricité de France (EDF) has providedoversight and guidance for this innovativeapplication of blockchain technology in the energysector. Deploying a local electricity market fromOmega Grid (OG) removes the revenue risk ofdistributed energy for utilities and encourageinvestment by property owners. SEF is a workingwinery that includes a water treatment facility, aCapstone Microturbine, 630 PV solar panels, aniron flow battery from SimpliPhi Power, ahydrogen electrolyzer, Tesla Powerpacks, and aheat exchanger. The software simulates eachmicrogrid asset as an independently owned sitethat acts in its own self interest. Each asset bidsinto the market based on their own cost curves.OG calculates the optimal power flow and alocational price for each asset.
