Writing – Fairy tales

Maths – Light or heavyOver the past few weeks we have been looking at length, we are now going to focus on weight. Weight is the measurement of how heavy an object is. We can also compare the weight between objects where one object will be lighter and one object heavier.Look at these pair of objects and decide which one would be the heaviest.

Last week we looked at how to tell the time. Remember, when the minute hand is pointing to the 12 that means it is o’clock and the hour hand tells you what hour it is.

In class we have used subitising as a counting strategy. Remember when you subitise you know how many there is without counting. Try to use this strategy to say how many counters are in each ten frame. You can write the answers in your jotter.

Counting/Adding - ListeningYou will need some noisy loose parts and some cups.

Task 1 – Ask an adult to drop the loose parts, one at a time, into the cup. Listen carefully - how many did you hear? Pour the cup out and touch and count to check if you are correct. Can you swap roles and be the dropper? How many did you drop in?Task 2 – Addition – Use the 2 cups this time. Drop an amount into the first cup, how many did you drop? We know how much Jesus loved his mother and how much Mary loved Him.Think about our Nativity. It told the story of Jesus being born. Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem.
