Solving Problems, Not Just Selling LabelsCenturion believes that healthcare should be about delivering outstanding results.
That’s what drives our thinking and the decisions we make – every day.
That’s why, when other label companies have chosen to cut costs and
let a phone do their selling, Centurion has enlarged its sales force to
do more face-to-face problem solving.
We’ve found this approach to be the best way to
understand the needs of our customers. It also allows
us to use our experience to better help with things
like product recommendations, compliance
guidance, developing customized labels
and improving patient safety.
Not to mention, with a Centurion
Representative nearby, emergencies are
handled personally and with urgency.
In fact, it’s at these times our customers
most appreciate the lengths to which we
go to solve problems.
We are committed to
helping customers achieve
The Joint Commission’s
National Patient Safety Goal
of reporting critical results
of tests and diagnostic
procedures on a timely basis.
Blood Tube Labeling is CriticalApplying even a superior label incorrectly to a blood tube can still lead to the label
flagging or barcodes that are unreadable by automated machines. If that happens,
tubes are rejected from the automated testing process and they must be processed
manually. This requires a new label to be printed or a new sample must be taken from
the patient, which can be painful. In either case, the analysis takes longer, test results
will be slowed and diagnoses delayed.
No Time For a Do-OverGetting samples can be stressful for patients and caregivers. Doing it more than once
because a label failed is costly, embarrassing and avoidable.
Low quality labels or labels that are applied incorrectly can:
•Flagorfalloff
•Bedifficulttoscan
•Haveahigherrateofrejectionbyautomatedprocessingequipment
Knowing the reasons for label failures has led Centurion to develop LabScan labels. With
their exclusive combination of TubeLoc adhesive and IncuScan coating, LabScan labels
are the superior performance label for lab environments.

The LabScan Solution: One Stick, One Label, One ScanFrom the Phlebotomy team to Lab Techs and the LIS Department, everyone will appreciate
the superior performance of Centurion’s LabScan labels.
oNe StICK… With the help of educational materials and in-servicing, the Phlebotomist
will know the proper way to adhere the labels which ensures they don’t have to repeat
sample collection.
oNe LABeL… With our TubeLoc adhesive our labels stay on better and won’t flag
during the automated analysis process. This prevents Lab Techs from re-labeling
and saves on downtime from servicing equipment due to errors.
oNe SCAN… Our IncuScan coating keeps patient information readable and scannable
even when exposed to the environmental challenges of incubators. With every sample

Engineered to perform better in automated testing equipment and incubators, LabScan labels are an exclusive combination of adhesive and coating:
TubeLoc™adhesive – Specially formulated to create a stronger bond with glass and plastic.
IncuScan™coating – Technically engineered to easily conform around test tubes and to with- stand exposure to the high temperatures and humidity of incubators without fading.
Simplyslidingyourfingeroverthelabelfromthebottom of the tube to the top during application is very effective in increasing the number of samples thatcanbeprocessedbyautomatedanalyzers. Movingfrombottomtotopkeepsthefingerin contact with the label from edge to edge, ensuring
a good seal. Going in the other direction requires thefingerto“stepdown”fromtheedgeofthecap, whichcanmakethefingermisscontactwithone edge – leaving NO seal. And, an edge with no seal can lead to labels flagging and jamming equipment.

Just Align, Slide & SealWorking with labs, we’ve learned that a superior label is not enough. That’s why we offer educational materials
that help reinforce a simple procedure for labeling that can dramatically improve the performance of the label
and your lab.
Program Enhancements Make it Even BetterLabels and educational materials are just the start of a program we set up for our customers.
To keep our labels printing reliably and scanning accurately, we offer printer maintenance kits and a
